One Direction's New kids
Chapter 8
La la, la la
You were the popular one, the popular chick
It is what it is, now I'm popular-ish
Standing on the field with your pretty pompom
Now you're working at the movie selling popular corn
I could have been a mess but I never went wrong
'Cause I'm putting down my story in a popular song
I said I'm putting down my story in a popular song
My problem, I never was a model,
I never was a scholar,
But you were always popular,
You were singing all the songs I don't know
Now you're in the front row
'Cause my song is popular
Popular, I know about popular
It's not about who you are or your fancy car
You're only ever who you were
Popular, I know about popular
And all that you have to do is be true to you
That's all you ever need to know
Sanali walked to her closet to unpack her stuff, humming to her favorite song that was playing. When she opened the closet a map was hanging on the wall. She took it down and looked it over. It was a map of the house. It showed all the things the guys showed them plus more. Sanali’s eyes landed on a part of the map that was quite interesting. A movie theater, Sanali thought, Cool! I so have to check it out.
Sanali grabbed the map and started toward the door. As soon as she reached for the knob there was knock on the door, she opened it to Louis standing there, looking a little confused.
Popular, I know about popular
It’s not about who you are or your fancy car
You’re only ever who you were
Popular, I know about popular
It’s not about who you are or your fancy car
You’re only ever who you were
Popular, I know about popular
And all that you have to do, is be true to you.
That’s all you ever need to know
It’s all you ever need to know
Sanali heard the song ending.
“Are you okay,” she asked Louis.
“Yeah,” he replied, “I just have something on my mind. So where are you headed.”
“How’d you know…” her eyes landed on the map as she spoke, “Oh, well, you guys forgot to tell us you had an indoor movie theater, on our tour.”
“Well, come on. I’ll take you now,” Louis said, “And you can leave the map.” They started walking down the hallway.
“So...how do you like it here so far,” Louis asked. They turned a corner.
“It’s really cool,” Sanali replied, “I was actually hoping to go down to the pool and swim in the-,” She stopped abruptly.
“Don’t worry,” Louis said, “It’s okay if you swim at night.”
“I was actually going to say just to stare at the colorful water,” Sanali lied.
“Really?”
“No,” Sanali said, “I would love to swim, I just…don’t have a swimsuit.”
“What about Drew?” Louis asked.
“She has one, I think, that can fit her,” Sanali answered. Louis stopped walking.
“What’s the hold-up,” Sanali asked.
“Why are we still walking this way? We have to go buy you a swimsuit,” He responded.
“No, we don’t,” Sanali said, “it’s okay, I really don’t like when people feel sorry for me. Plus what about going to the movie theater.”
“I’m not feeling sorry for you, one. And think of it more as a gift,” Louis said, turning around. “Let’s get you a swimsuit.”
