There's Someone Always Watching
Chapter One
Prologue:
*Fifteen Years Earlier*
I walked down the halls of the Vampire Home. Mr.Lynch had called me for a meeting in his office, though I don't know why, because he was on the verge of death due to Vampire Pneumonia.
"Come in," I heard his frail voice say when I knocked on the door. I gently push on the wooden door.
"You wanted to see me,Mr. Lynch," I asked. He nodded, barely. He was on his bed, looking paler than ever. He coughed a time or two, then motioned me over
"I- don't have much time... Niall...... Promise me," he coughed again, "p-promise me you'll.... Take c-c-care of my d-daughter. Sh-she's not m-much younger than.... Your human f-form."
He coughed.
"I will, sir. But why are you asking me to do this?" He put his hand on mine and smiled.
"Your a good little vampire, aren't you," he said in a weak voice. "D-do as I say.... Goodbye, Niall."
He closed his eyes.
Mr.Lynch was dead.
*Fifteen years later*
I have kept my promise. I've watched Mr.Lynch's daughter grow older each year, not ever seeing me. That is the way it should be, I tell myself. She'd just be scared of you.
Today was her sixteenth birthday.
Apparently, in human customs, that is a big occasion. I do not understand why. She was getting presents left and right at her party. Or 'Sweet Sixteen.'
Why do they call it sweet? You cannot eat a birthday, nor can you taste it. One of the many things I do not understand of Humans.
I was hiding in the bushes, for she had greatly tall ones, and watching the blood-carriers. No, Niall. I mean HUMANS.
I licked my lips, rather loudly.
She must have heard, too, because she looked directly at the bushes. Where I was. I crouched lower, trying to get away from her sight.
Oh, but no, she was half-vampire, and she had very good eyesight. She excuses herself from the two slightly-younger looking girls she was talking with and came over to the bush.
While she walked, I backed away. I was in black jeans and a black hoody. When she finally got close enough, I was out of there.
As fast as I could, I ran away from there!
I ran and ran and ran!
I ducked behind a tree, hoping she would see me.
