the beginning
*Flashback*
'kyna where's ma'
'downstairs keeva'
i walk down our flight of stairs and listen for ma. then a bang echos tjrough the hallway, 'ma' i call out no answer. I run to tje door and see ma talking to a man. Suddenly he grabs her and forcefully pushes her to the living room. I follow close behind. The man pushes her up against the wall and starts to hit her. I gasp and he hears. He turns and heads over to me. 'Here girl' he says like I'm a dog. He approaches me and pushes me to the wall. He brings out a blade and slowly cuts my throat. I scream in pain then pass out. I wake as he walks back to my ma. He saunters up and stabs her several times. I hear her whisper i love you oovoo and then fall to the ground.i see blood pour from her body then i black out completely. I see sirens and hear kyna sobbing and calling my and ma's name. The lights, sirens and nurses all blurr together. My mother's last words rotate round my head. Her face when he stabbed into her stomach.
*flashback*
i wake up tears streaming down my face and sweat coating my forehead. I try to scream but i can't. I can't talk. I panic and a nurse hurries in to see what the common is about. She calms me down and says something about getting kyna. Just on time kyna rushes in. Relief fills my body and i relax.
'its gonna be fine keeva' her words soothe me and make me relax. I point to my throat as if to say i can't speak. She shakes her head and goes to find a doctor.
a doctor enters and comes to me.
'how are you feeling keeva' he questions
i point to my throat again and give him a care to explain look.
he takes a deep breath and says
'keeva when the attacker cut you he hit your voice box.
we belive he did it deliberately.'
i give him a so what look
' keeva that means you won't be able to talk for ther rest of your life.
