Something Great

*The next day! (BEFORE El and Lou's anniversary party)*
Delilah's pov

I rummage through my closet and grab something to wear for today, it's only twelve and the party is at nine tonight.

I pick out something random and rush downstairs, "Honey! Where are you going?" My dad asks, sitting in the living room with my mom.
I walk in, "I was going to go to the mall before going to Minnie's." I had to tell them i was going to Minnie's because they wouldn't let me go to El and Lou's party if they'd knew I'd be drinking.

Mom smiles, "Okay, have fun." she catches her voice. There's more. "Wait, who was that who drove you home yesterday?" She asks, leaning her head on the hand, narrowing her eyes just so.
"Oh, that's um.." Think! "that was Mark."
Why did I have to say HIS name?
My mother beams in joy, "Mark?!" She smiles.
"Yeah, I guess he lives here now..." I look to the door, hoping I can leave soon before I have to hear the 'I always loved him, he has a plan...blah blah blah' speech.
"You know, I always loved him. That boy has a plan." She nods, smiling away. My dad joins in, "Are you two back together now? Is he doing his major in college yet?"
My dad LOVED that Mark was in college, which you'd think he would hate but no, he likes that Mark was going to be a Biologist.
"I don't know but I have to go." I say and walk out before I have to hear more of that dickhead.

I close and lock the door behind me, I sigh and when I turn around there he is.
"Louis?"
He smiles, swinging one arm around the passenger seat, "Get in, love."
I do as said and buckle myself, Louis' arm still around my seat.

When his car starts, the tires screech and he speeds off, soon onto a dirt road.
"Do you know where you're going?" I ask, he stops the car and smiles.

"No, I don't. Do you?"
I smile and hit him, suddenly the mood changes. But in different ways, for him it seems to deepen into a romantic mood, and I melt into it for a moment, but stopping before his lips meet my neck.
I hold both hands to his chest, "Stop." He looks up, "I can't do this, it's wrong. El is my friend. I can't do this to her. I can't be like this, I can't keep doing this, and you can't do this..."
I try my hardest not to sink into his eyes.
He leans down and kisses my hand, "But....love, I can't help it."
"Oh..-No. Louis." I pull my hand back. "Drive me to the mall." I demand, trying to keep the farthest distance I can.

We sit in silence until we reach the mall.
When I hop out and walk to the entrance, Louis does too.
"What, Lou-no" He slides a hand around my waist and I want to stop him, I just can't.

His lips move to mine, smiling underneath.

Two voices appear in the background. Minnie and El.
I push Louis back and he hides behind a plant.

"Dee!"Minnie jumps.
"HEEEEY!" El hugs me and I try to face her the opposite direction so Louis can slip away. In seconds he is back in his car, speeding off. "What are you doing here?" I ask, fixing my shirt around my waist.
"Oh, I was getting a new dress for tonight." El says.
Minnie looks like she is about to explode, she holds her phone tightly in her hands.

When she holds it up, its too close to El and I's faces.
"Oh-"
"My-"
"Lord!"
We both say.
