Something Great
Chapter 2
Delilah's pov
I slam my books on the front desk, ready for this class to be over, my last of the day.
"...Shut up, I bet she's nice." A blonde says, walking through the door with a wavy haired brunette.
"I know, it's just, I replaced your last best friend...I don't want to be replaced to."
I roll my eyes, how annoying and cliche.
It's such a stereotypical notion in the life of a teen girl, always finding the smallest problems in everything and making it about themselves.
"Oh...hi..." I look up to see the blonde is smiling at me. "Are you new?"
"Yeah, I'm Delilah." I give a fake smile, and receive a real one back.
She practically starts jumping in joy, where as the other girl looks rather upset.
"Yay! I'm Perrie!" she grabs the other girls arm, pulling her forward, "This is Eleanor, my best friend."
I extend a hand, "Hi" I try to give a real smile, since she apparently thinks I may steal her best friend.
"Hello." She shifts into the seat across the isle.
The blonde pulls up a desk in between us, which I would guess isn't allowed, but won't fight it seeing as I need more friends.
"So, where are you from?" Perrie asks.
"Well, everywhere..."
"What does that mean?" Eleanor jumps in.
"I've lived in California, Texas, Italy, Russia, Austria, Australia, and China." I say, "And my last place was a small town in Tennessee."
They open their mouth's in shock and/or surprise.
"My dad owns a car business and sells them in different places to expand his..." I trail off, "I'm boring you, aren't I?" I ask.
Perrie and Eleanor shake their heads.
We are all three in a shifting conversation, moving from subject to subject, "Delilah?"
"Yeah?" I ask Eleanor.
"Do you have a boyfriend? Because me and Perrie have the perfect guy for you."
I raise my eye brow, "You're not serious, are you?"
Perrie smiles and hits me arm, "Yes! Now answer!"
I laugh, "No, I don't."
"Good!" she turns to Eleanor.
"We can set up a date for you two on Friday."
I've been here a day, now have eight friends and a date for Friday.
Wow.
"What's his name?" I ask, twirling my sleeve.
"D-"
"SHH!" Perrie cover Eleanor's mouth, playfully. "Don't ruin the mystery!"
She turns to me, "You'll love him! You can meet me at my house before the date to get you ready!"
I nod.
I hate blind dates...
