There's No Such Thing As Too Young

You Are Not Alone Anymore

Zayn and I were lounging on the sofa, watching Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

My legs were thrown over his lap, and he was leaning his head back on the sofa cushion as he watched the TV.

We had nothing to do today.

The week had passed by so quickly!

I took a look around the living room, observing the furnishings.

My Nan was convinced that they were in style when she purchased them, which must have been about Twenty years ago.

Our house was in desperate need of some attention, don't get me wrong, it was perfectly clean and tidy, it just needs some new and more modern pieces of furniture, along with a splash of color.

The walls were a blue color, which, I must admit, matched well with the beige carpet.

The furniture was antique looking, and I knew some pieces would be worth a fortune now.

The only modern thing in this room was the television, which was a large plasma.

"Zayn?" I asked, focusing my eyes on my Fiancé.

"Hmm?"

"We should decorate." I stated, causing him to look at me with a raised eyebrow.

"What makes you say that?"

"I think we just need to make it our own home, with things that we like." I shrugged, getting up and crawling over to him.

I straddled his legs and he rested his hands on my waist, rubbing circles.

"Every room?" He wondered, looking around.

"Well, only the rooms that need to be gutted."

"What have you got in mind?"

"I want to get rid of all this old furniture, we can sell it at the antique shop in town and get some money for it. Then, we can use the money along with my savings to buy new furniture. We can also paint my room and get a new bed, because you're a huge bed hogger." I explained, telling him my ideas.

"When do you want to do this?"

"Can we look for the smaller things today?"

"Yeah, okay. When you say 'we can paint', you really mean 'I can paint', don't you?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.

I nodded sheepishly.

Zayn groaned.

"Hey! You're the boy, you're supposed to do this stuff!"

"That's sexist!" He exclaimed, poking my sides.

"That's not sexist! You said so yourself in an interview!"

"Wait, you've watched interviews of me?" Zayn smirked, I nodded and looked away.

"Yes." I mumbled.

"Why, love bug?" He asked, holding my face

"Because I missed you while you were on tour, Emily and I watched them together." I blushed.

"Aw, look at you blushing." He teased, pinching my cheeks.

"Shut up, I want to get paint and look at some beds." I spoke, standing up and pulling him with me.

He grunted as he stood, stretching his back out.

I left him in the living room as I went upstairs to quickly grab my bag, shoes and a cardigan.

I dashed back downstairs, to where Zayn was stood in the hall, twirling his keys around his fingers and sucking on a lollipop.

I pulled my boots on, shrugging my cardigan on.

Rocky rushed to us, thinking it was time for his walk.

"It's not time for walkies yet, baby boy!" I exclaimed, scratching his ears as he barked happily.

I stood up, throwing my purse over my shoulder.

Zayn opened the front door and ushered me out, shoving the lollipop in my mouth too.

"I could have choked on that." I glared, getting into his car after throwing the lollipop into the trashcan we had outside waiting for the bin men to collect.

"That's what she said." He laughed, getting in also and buckling his seatbelt before starting the car.

"Remind me why I'm marrying you?" I groaned, tipping my head back against the seat.

"Well, I'm tall, kind of dark, I'm also extremely handsome. I make you laugh, I'll be passing on great genes of talent to our kids and I'm pretty sure my performance in the bedroom plays a big part." He grinned, I gasped and smacked his arm.

"You're so vulgar!"

"I most certainly am not! I just have a sense of humor, baby! Now, where do you want to go first?" He asked, a smile still on his face.

"The bed warehouse, we need to choose a bed, then get sheets and accessories, and then get paint."

"Okay, but wouldn't it make sense to get the paint before accessories?" Zayn asked me, confusion evident on his face as we pulled onto the highway.

"Nope, what happens if we choose paint and then there's no bedding or accessories to match? Hmm?"

Zayn hummed and nodded thoughtfully.

"Good thinking, Drella."

"I'm not just a pretty face." I joked, causing Zayn to laugh.

"That's right, babe. You're much more than a pretty face, you're an animal in the-"

"Finish that sentence and you won't see tomorrow's daylight." I warned, pointing my finger at him.

"I'm joking, baby." He smirked, reaching over blindly and grabbing my hand, pulling it into his lap.

He held my hand as he lit up a cigarette, using his knee to steer.

I have to admit that this made me nervous, but to my relief Zayn started driving with his one hand, his cigarette dangling from his mouth.

I rolled my eyes at him and fiddled with the radio, shoving in one of my CD's.

"You know, the guys and I have been invited to a party this weekend."

"Who by?" I wondered, searching through my bag for my mobile.

"Little Mix, you’ve met the members before."

"That's cool."

"You're invited too." Zayn informed me, glancing between me and the road.

"Erm, I don't know..." I started, pulling a face.

"You have to come, I want everyone to meet my incredible fiancé." He pouted, throwing the remainder of his smoke out the window.

"But I'm not going to know anyone there and you know I don't like lots of people around me." I said, pulling up a message from Emily after I'd dug out my iPhone from the bottom of my bag.

"So? This is your opportunity to meet everyone." He pointed out.

"You can't introduce me as your Fiancé when you haven't even told the rest of the guys about the engagement."

"Hypocrite, you haven't told Emily. Who, might I add, is your best friend." He snarkily replied, changing lanes.

"What do you think I'm doing now?" I asked, motioning to my phone.

"You're seriously going to text her that you're getting married?" He laughed, looking at me in disbelief.

"Yeah, only because I don't want her flipping out on me, I don't like it when she's loud and obsessive."

I started typing out my text, deleting the words a few times before I found the sentence that said what I needed it to.

To: Emily
Sent: 1:37
Zayn asked me to marry him, don't freak out please. I'll tell you more on Skype tonight! I love you the most!

I read it over before hitting send.

Less than a minute later, I received a reply.

From: Emily
Recieved: 1:38
What?! Congrats! Text me when you're online! I have stuff to tell you too!

I didn't bother replying, I shoved my phone back into my bag and took Zayn's hand again, squeezing it as I gazed at my engagement ring that was sparkling in the sunlight.

The remainder of drive to the warehouse wasn't long at all, and it wasn't busy when we arrived.

Zayn parked up and opened my door for me, taking my hand in his and locking up his Cadillac.

Our hands were swinging between us as we entered the warehouse.

There was Two levels and it was bed heaven, hence the name.

Zayn and I wondered over to the first section, inspecting the selection.

"What color wood are we having? Or are we having metal work?" Zayn asked, running his hand over the bottom of the first bed we had come across.

"I think dark wood would go with any paint we choose, I think we should also get a bed without a bottom on, you do have super long legs after all." I pointed out, wondering over to a bed frame that was a walnut color, which was a very dark brown.

"You can talk, your legs are almost as long as mine." Zayn scoffed, coming up behind me and resting his chin on my shoulder.

"What about the headboard?"

"I don't care as long as I can handcuff you to it."

I gasped loudly and kicked him in the shin.

"I swear to god-" I seethed, not finishing my sentence as I heard an older couple laugh next to us.

They walked away laughing and I turned around to smack Zayn's chest.

"You can't say stuff like that when people are around!" I exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, you know it's true!" He laughed, rubbing his chest.

"Yeah, well for that, we're having this bed." I stated, turning back to gaze at the bed.

I really liked it.

"Fine, let's go pay." He sighed, giving in easily.

He dragged me over to a man in a powder blue shirt and black pants, with a clipboard in his hands.

"Excuse me?" Zayn asked politely, causing the man to lift his head and face us with a small grin.

"Hello, how can I help?" He wondered, shaking Zayn's hand.

"We'd like to purchase a bed over there." Zayn told him, motioning over to the section we were previously in.

"Oh right, follow me." He said, walking speedily ahead of us.

We followed and showed him the bed.

"Great choice, very modern and durable." He winked, causing me to shuffle into Zayn's side and him to growl under his breath as he pulled me securely to his body.

"How much is it?" Zayn asked.

The man hummed and tapped his chin.

"It's normally Seven hundred dollars, but for you I'll sell it to you for Six hundred with a free mattress." He offered.

"Deal." Zayn agreed quickly, nodding towards him.

"Great!" He exclaimed, writing a few things down on a piece of paper. "Will you write your details down so we can sort out a delivery date?" He asked, handing Zayn the clipboard.

Zayn nodded and took the form, filling it in quickly and shoving it back at the man.

"Will you be paying by cash or card?"

I started to pull my purse from my bag but Zayn stopped me and pulled his wallet from his pocket.

He hastily handed him Six, One hundred dollar bills.

"That's perfect, thank you for your custom. Your bed will be delivered soon! I can't give you an exact time, but it should be in the afternoon time." He told us, offering a warm smile as he handed me our proof of purchase sheet.

We smiled in thanks and left the establishment.

"What a pervert." Zayn mumbled as we got into the car.

"I know right." I shuddered, buckling up.

"You're in it for life now that we've bought a bed together." Zayn grinned at me, pulling out of the parking lot.

"Oh dear." I joked, resting my hand on this thigh like I always do when he's driving.

"I've been thinking..." Zayn started as he got in the correct lane for the paint store.

"About?" I wondered, eyeing him suspiciously.

"You quitting your job."

"Why would I do that? It's how I afford to pay the bills and buy food." I said, my mouth half open.

"Babe, it's only One day a week. You only get paid enough just to cover things and pay for what you need. You don't need to do that now we're living together and getting married, I make more than enough money to get us by. Don't even try and tell me you love your job, because I know you don't. Your boss is a dick who swans off all the time and leaves you to serve customers and lock up, she takes advantage of your good nature, I don't like it. Anyway, you leave school in the spring, and then you can find a proper job once you've figured out what you want to do." He revealed.

“Zayn..." I uttered, still shocked by his confession.

"Please, Drella. Just quit your job, it's no big deal."

"What am I supposed to do when you disappear on tour?"

"You'll be coming with us, duh! We're not going to be touring until the summer. You can enjoy the summer and relax with your boyfriend!"

"Oh yeah? When was this decided?" I laughed, amused at his answer.

"Right now." He declared, squeezing my hand tightly.

"You're unbelievable."

"I'm Zayn Malik, being unbelievable is what I do best."

I rolled my eyes.

By the end of the day, Zayn and I had picked out some paint and accessories for the bedroom and living room for after we empty it.

We chose lime green paint and funky wallpaper for the living room and purple paint with black accessories for the bedroom.

We'd chosen to leave my Grandma's room as it was, as I thought it would be disrespectful to try and change it.

It was her own space and one of the last things I could remember her by.

I didn't want to let go of her just yet.

Overall, it's been a productive day and I was eager to make our house a place that truly felt like home.

Awesome fanfic! I honestly at first thought I wasn't going to enjoy it but now if has been the one that I have became addicted to. I was really happy about the ending and everything about the last few chapters. I think my favourite part was when Zayn busted up Megan and her group pretty badly, and then all if the last chapter. I am very sad to see this fanfic go but it will always be one of my favourites like I said. So anyway.....I expect to see more great stories in the future!!!!

This was amazing. Truly amazing. Great job!
