There's No Such Thing As Too Young

"I have so much homework! Can I not get a day off?" Emily groaned as we walked out of the school grounds, tipping her head back and dragging her feet.

"The sooner you do it, the sooner you can come round mine!" I exclaimed, linking my arm through hers.

I was in a good mood today.

Nobody had said a word to me.

I received a few looks, but overall it was a good day!

I'd even had an apple for lunch!

"But I don't want to do it!" She moaned, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"I'll hel- oh my god." I muttered, stopping still and making Emily almost trip.

"What's wrong?" She asked, lifting her head.

"Wait here." I muttered, removing my arm and leaving her next to the gate.

"What the hell are you doing here? Are you stalking me? How the fuck did you even know I go here?" I asked, my voice high as I walked over to Zayn.

"No! I just happened to be here, enjoying the sight, plus, it's the only high school around here." He said, looking me up and down as he leant against the hood of his car.

I dragged him to the side, he yelped when I pinched him.

"What going on? You can't just show up here! It looks weird, like you're spying on teenagers!"

"Okay, okay. There's a reason I'm here though, I promise." He defended, leaning against the passenger side of his car.

"Yeah, what's that?" I asked crossing my arms, and ignoring the eyes on Zayn and I.

"Drella? What's going on? Who's this creep?" Emily asked, rushing over and standing behind me.

"Hey!" Zayn yelled, looking at her.

"What do you want then?" I asked, ignoring Emily.

"Right, One Direction are playing a show here, in town, tomorrow night. I just wondered if you wanted to come." Zayn wondered, leaning forward towards me.

"I don't know..." I started, but Emily nudged me in the back.

I turned around to glare at her.

"Please! Your little creature, friend can come too!" Zayn begged, widening his brown eyes.

"Asshole." Emily muttered, and I stifled a giggle.

"Fine, but do we have to be in the crowd?"

"Nah, you can watch from the side stage, or on stage, it's your choice." Zayn chuckled, and I scoffed.

"Dream on, but fine, where is it?" I wondered, feeling butterflies at the comment he just made.

"I'll pick you both up from your house tomorrow. Will your parents be okay with it?"

"She-." Emily went to speak, but I reached back and pinched her.

No way was she spilling my secrets.

"They'll be fine, what time?" I answered, looking at Zayn who had his eyebrows raised.

"About five? Is that okay? Will it give you time to get ready?"

"Yeah, look, we need to go, I'll see you later." I said, pushing Emily to walk.

"Wait!" Zayn called, and I turned around.

"Wha-" I didn't have time to finish my question, because long, tattooed arms wrapped around me.

Zayn was hugging me.

I hesitantly hugged him back, breathing in his musky scent.

I pulled away after a few moments.

"Bye, Drella." He smiled, brushing my hair away from my face.

"Bye." I replied, waving as I walked away with Emily.

I heard him get back into his car, and shut the door.

"How do you know him? Isn't he a little old?" Emily asked, linking our arms again.

"It's a long story." I laughed, starting the daily journey to Starbucks for my tea.
