Overworked

Maddie’s P.O.V
“This is what you get for working on our last night,” Niall came over and covered me in water. I shivered and shook it off and was given my next song. Although it wasn’t my song.
“Right, because of your surprise, we’ve got a song for all of you to sing, it’s Half a Heart by One Direction, you’re leading the song and the boys are gonna follow, okay?” came through my in-ears. I nodded slightly so they’d know I’d heard them and I started speaking into my microphone.
“Even though this isn’t my song, seeing as my concert has just been crashed by 9 weird guys, we’re all gonna sing Half a Heart by One Direction, who likes that song?” I asked and got screams as a response. “I’m guessing that’s a lot of you, let’s do this then, shall we lads?” I turned to the guys. They all screamed yes into their microphones and the intro started. This was so planned. My band wouldn’t have known how to play the song otherwise.
Then Liam and I started singing. Ah I get it, I’m doing all the solos with the boys and 5sos are gonna join in on the choruses.
“So your friend’s been telling me
You’ve been sleeping with my sweater

I’m not doing much better

Zayn swapped with Liam and came and stood next to me for his part.
“And being here without you

Kinda there - but not quite
I’m walking ‘round with just one shoe

I’m half a man at best
With half an arrow in my chest
I miss everything we do
I’m half a heart without you”
“Forget all we said that night
No, it doesn’t even matter
‘Cause we both got split in two” Louis and I sang and then Zayn came back.
”If you could spare an hour or so
We’ll go for lunch down by the river
We can really talk it through”
Now the bit that probably all of my fans have been waiting for… Harry and Louis’ bit with me. Harry came over, stood next to me really close and we looked into each other’s eyes as we sang, with Louis standing on the other side of the stage.
“And being here without you

Louis and Niall swapped.

Then it was just Harry for a few lines, and I let it be just him as he took my hand.

“I’m half a heart without you
I’m half a heart without you” He sang to me, as I smiled my head off.
Then I kissed Harry on the cheek and ran off to Niall leaving Harry with an offended look on his face.
“Though I try to get you out of my head
The truth is I got lost without you
And since then I’ve been waking up to”
Then it was time for all of us, we jumped around the stage swapping places as we sang. I wish I was in a band; it really gets lonely up here on your own. You just kinda stand there, not knowing what to do.

As we sang the last line of the chorus Ashton picked me up and span me around while I laughed.
“Without you

Half a heart without you
Without you
Without you” I sang with Zayn.
Then it was the last line.
“I’m half a heart without you” Harry sang, looking me in the eyes. I moved my microphone away from my mouth and moved in to kiss him. Luke and Louis ran and stood in front of us as we made out.
“Urm, well, this isn’t our concert but the person you’re meant to be seeing is currently kissing some curly haired guy, so, yeah, urm, I don’t know what to do.” Niall said awkwardly. I pulled away from Harry and we both laughed. I put my microphone back properly and moved round Luke and Louis.
“Sorry about that, too hard to resist, now leave my stage.” I started pushing the guys.
“They can stay if you want Maddie, I know you get lonely up there so just sing your songs and jump around with them, they know that was the only song but they also know that they can stay out there and watch and have fun with you.” Isabelle’s voice came through my in-ear.
“I’ll be right back,” I said to the crowd and ran backstage. I found Isabelle and hugged her. “Thank you,” I said covering my microphone.
“You’re welcome, now go muck around, just don’t forget to sing,” she laughed and pushed me back out.
“Well, it looks like 9 other people are gonna be on stage tonight, but they’re not doing anymore singing don’t worry, I know how awful they are,” I said.
“Hey!” Louis said into his microphone.
“You’re mean.” Liam pouted and Calum did the same. The crowd laughed and the band started playing ‘Tattooed Heart’.

I sang it while jumping around with all of the boys. It was so fun. About 2 songs from the end, Gemma, Eleanor, Dani and Perrie came out too, making me scream again. I ran to them and hugged them. We all mucked around for my last two songs.
