Overworked

Harry’s P.O.V
I stood outside the main door of the apartment block with the kids and got a text.
From: My Sexy Baby
I’m at Walmart. I’ll be back in about 10 minutes, sorry x
I sighed and told the kids.
“Can we go and sit in the car? My legs hurt.” Lis complained. I sat her on the wall and we waited for a few minutes and then Maddie’s black car pulled into the parking lot. She got out and opened the trunk to get the shopping out. I went over to help her.
“Sorry, I didn’t think I’d take that long.” She apologised.
“It’s fine. Is that what I think it is?” I pointed at the Victoria’s Secret bags.
“Yeah, take a look if you want.” She said and handed me the bags. I opened one and looked at the lingerie. It’s so fucking sexy; it will look amazing on her.
“Woah,” I gasped.
“Isabelle reckons you won’t want to take it off me but I don’t think it will even look good. “ She told me.
“It will. Have you taken the pill today?”
“Shit no, I forgot. I’ll take it when I get upstairs.” She grabbed 4 Walmart bags.
“Alright, I’ll come up with you so you don’t have to come back.”
“Okay, that’s for you as well.” She pointed to another bag. I looked in it and it was her swimwear calendar.
“Really? I thought you said I wasn’t allowed it.”
“I didn’t get it. Isabelle and Emily did.”
“Oh right, well thank them for me.” I laughed and she laughed too.
“You can get it next time you come round. Let’s go up.” She said and I grabbed some shopping bags and went back to the kids. She shut the trunk and followed me. “Sorry guys, come on.” She put in the code and went to the elevator. I followed after her and Brooklyn pushed the twins for us. We got up to Maddie’s floor and Maddie unlocked the door letting the kids in.
“Wow…” Lis looked around. Maddie laughed and dumped the shopping in the kitchen and I did the same.
“Dad should have a key Mum.” Adam said. If only he knew...
“I’ll pick them up at 5 okay?” I looked at Maddie.
“Yeah sure, can I talk to you by the way?” She replied.
“Yeah sure,”
“Kids watch some TV; we’ll be back in a minute.” Maddie said and walked into her bedroom.
“What do you want to talk about?” I asked.
“Nothing,” She said and kissed me. We made out for a few minutes and then she pulled away. “Sorry, I’ve seen you twice in the last couple of days and I haven’t been able to kiss you. I just had to.” She explained.
“Okay. But don’t you have a boyfriend?” I teased.
“Haha, you have a girlfriend so she’s a lucky girl.”
“And I’m a lucky guy.” I laughed.
“Yeah you are, anyway, you’ve got to go so I don’t pounce again.”
“Alright, you really should give dad a key mum.” I mocked Adam.
“Yeah yeah, get out, see you at 5.” She pushed me towards the door.
“Alright, love you.”
“Love you too babe.”
“I still can’t wait to see you in that lingerie.”
“I might skip work tomorrow, I’ll text you.”
“Take your tablet.” I told her and kissed her cheek and then opened the door. “I’ll see you guys at 5 okay?” I ruffled Adam’s hair.
“Okay dad, byee.” Brooke said and Adam fixed his hair. I laughed and left. Adam is so obsessed with looking good if any of the girls touch his hair he growls and goes to sort it out. I got down to the car and texted Maddie.
To: My Sexy Baby
Take your pill. Or no sex for you ;) x
I pulled out of her parking lot and started to drive home when my phone went off.
From: My Sexy Baby
Just taken it. Do I get sex now?x
I laughed and replied.
To: My Sexy Baby
We’ll see. Please skip work tomorrow. I need to see you in that lingerie x
I drove the rest of the way home and as I pulled up in the driveway, Niall came round.
“Hey.” I got out of my car.
“Hi, I have matters to discuss with you.” He said.
“Gone all posh now have you?” I went to the front door. I unlocked it and we went in.
“Maddie has a boyfriend.” Niall blurted out.
“I know Ni, it doesn’t bother me.” I hung up my keys.
“Why not? It should. You’re married to her and the girl you love is leaving you. You’re losing her Harry! Man up and get your girl back!”
“She doesn’t need me anymore Niall. She’s got this other guy, she’s with him.”
“But you need her.”
“No I don’t. I’ve got a girlfriend.”
“What? You two are mad! You’ve been together for 13 fucking years. Now as soon as you split up you find other people! What the hell?”
“We weren’t meant to be together.”
“She still wears her rings. She loves you and I know you love her. C’mon.”
“For god sake Niall, just leave it alone. We’re happier without each other.”
“So you’re gonna get divorced then? What about the kids?”
“We’ll both look after them.”
“Don’t you miss her?”
“No for god sake.”
“Why?”
“Because my girlfriend is her!” I shouted.
“What?” He looked so confused. It is pretty confusing to be fair.
“We’re still seeing each other. We did originally want to take a break from it but then she slept with another guy so I wanted to show her what she was missing and fucked her all day long on Monday and we came to the agreement that we would just hook up and not live together anymore. It’s so much easier. We still love each other, we just can’t live together. The only people that knew were her PA and stylist but I guess you know now but you can’t tell anyone.”
“Right, so you’re just gonna have sex and not have to live with each other because what? You don’t argue anymore?”
“Yeah. That’s exactly why. It’s the fun without the arguments. I can do what I like and she can do what she likes but we’re still together.”
“So basically, you’re having sex, living in different houses and sharing 5 kids? That must be hard work.”
“And we’re sneaking around to be together but I don’t care. I prefer it this way and so does she.” I explained.
“Okay... I won’t tell anyone so you can keep your hooking up secret, don’t worry.” He said.
“Thanks.”
“So why are you calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend?” He continued to grill me.
“Because it feels like it. She got pregnant 4 months into our relationship; the commitment was chucked on us. This way, we’re not totally attached and also, we don’t get press and hate. It’s so much easier.”
“Okay. I understand now. You don’t reckon you could convince Belle into doing that with me do you?”
“No mate sorry. You and Belle don’t argue all the time. Maddie and I used to. This is saving our marriage. We’ll get back together properly sometime but at the moment we’re just enjoying this.”
“Alright, I’ll leave you to enjoy your day without the kids. Bye.” He left. Finally.

I spent the day on my laptop going through my Twitter feed and then picked up the kids. I got to Maddie’s apartment and she let me in and the kids came with me.
“Did you have a good time with your mum?” I asked them.
“Yeah, it was so fun. She played with us all day. It was the best.”
“So you’re looking forward to doing it again soon then?”
“Yeah. This is so much better than when you were together because we get to spend time with both of you and don’t have to listen to you argue.”
“I know what you mean.” I laughed and put the twins into the car. I drove home and made dinner and then the kids did their homework while I put the twins to sleep and then they went to sleep themselves. I watched TV for a few hours and then went up to bed.

I'm so sorry, I swear I have the memory of a goldfish. I'm going to put reminders on my phone from now on to get me to update on time! I'm absolutely terrible at it so to apologise I'll give you a double update. Sorry again:/
