Overworked

Maddie’s P.O.V
Mum opened the door and looked shocked to see them.
“Grandma!!” Lis shouted and hugged her.
“Hey sweetie, come in,” she said and I locked the car and walked up the path with the twins. “Should I take one?”
“Probably best before I drop them.” I said and handed Amelia to her.
“So, what are they doing here?”
“Harry scared the crap out of them, he’s drunk and in no state to be taking care of 5 children.”
“No swearing Maddie.” She scolded me and I went inside.
“Crap isn’t exactly swearing Mum.” I said.
“Well I think it is and this is my house.”
“Okay okay, guys, have you had dinner?” I turned to Brooklyn and Adam.
“Yeah, we had sandwiches.”
“Okay, well go and get ready for bed upstairs then in the room with an M on the door.” I told them. They nodded and ran upstairs. Freya started crying in my arms so I bounced her up and down.
“I can’t believe Harry would get drunk while looking after the kids.” Mum said.
“Me neither but people change, he would never have done that before. He’s coming to get them in the morning so don’t kick off alright. I drove illegally back here so he’ll point that out if you say anything.”
“Why’d you drive-”
“I had 5 kids and only 5 seats in my car; they had to squash in together. The twins were my priority though.” I cut her off. She nodded and I put Freya down on the floor. “Do you have the travel crib still?” I asked.
“Yeah, I’ll go and find it. You go and check on your children.” She said and put Amelia down so she could rummage in the cupboard. I went upstairs into my room and Brooklyn was sitting on the bed with Lis and Adam was looking at my pictures. They’ve never been in my room except to sleep when they were little so they won’t remember it.
“When was this taken mum?” Adam pointed at a picture. It was one of my really old modelling photos from when I was about 16.
“About 17 years ago, so a long time ago, do you mind sleeping in here with me and the babies?” I questioned.
“Yeah okay, I don’t want to have to sleep in the same bed as Brooklyn or Melissa so I’d prefer being with you even if I do get woken up.” He said. I nodded and then took Brooklyn and Lis into the spare bedroom and they went to sleep.
“Maddie, I found it!” Mum said and I went to get the travel crib. I picked up Amelia and the travel crib and went up to my room. “Brooke probably has one too for when Aimee stays so if you want another one.”
“Mum, there’s barely enough space in my room for one.” I told her. She agreed with me and brought Freya up. I sorted out the crib and put the twins to sleep. Adam went to sleep too and Brooke came in.
“You got them then?”
“Yeah, he was smashing glasses when I got there. They’d locked themselves in the nursery.”
“Jeez, he’s mad.”
“Yeah but I love him, how stupid am I?”
“You’re not stupid. He’s a nice guy; he’s just not in the best mood lately.”
“You can say that again. Do you wanna go clubbing tomorrow? Harry is picking up the kids in the morning.”
“Yeah alright, I don’t have Aimee again until Monday.”
“Night then,” I hugged her and got into bed with Adam. We both woke up a few times for the twins but it was 9am before we knew it.
“Please come home Mum. It’s not the same without you.” Adam said getting dressed.
“Sweetheart, I wish I could but I can’t put up with your dad not talking to me. I’ll come home soon I promise and until then you can visit me at my apartment and stuff. I still love you.” I replied. He huffed and went downstairs and I heard the doorbell go.
“Mum!! Dad is here!” Adam shouted and I ran downstairs. I opened the front door and Harry looked me up and down.
“Attractive,” he laughed looking at my pyjamas.
“Yeah yeah, I’ll go and get the girls sorted out.” I said and went upstairs. I got Brooklyn and Lis up and they started to get dressed and then I sorted out the twins. Adam came back in and sat down on the bed.
“Dad said he really loves you and misses you.” He said.
“Haha good try Ad but I’m not coming home. If your dad means it he can say it to my face.” I laughed and picked up Freya. “Here, take Amelia babe.” I handed Amelia to Adam. He held her carefully and we went downstairs to Harry.
“Here you go Dad.” Adam gave Amelia to him. “I tried telling her but she didn’t listen. She said you can say it to her face.” Adam continued.
“I’m here Adam.” I reminded him.
“I really do mean it Mads.” Harry said.
“I know you do. Just don’t expect me to jump back into your arms and get the kids into this. You didn’t talk to me for a month and now you expect me to just come back. It’s not happening Harry. I love you but I can’t stay if you’re just gonna be pissed off with me all the time. You completely lost it yesterday and I’m scared that if I would have been there you would have hit me or something. I’m sorry but I just can’t come home now.” I told him and Brooke came down.
“That was harsh sis. He loves you and he looks like he’s about to cry in a minute.” She said. I looked at him and he really did.
“Brooklyn! Melissa!” I called the girls. They ran down the stairs with their stuff and stood next to me. “C’mon, let’s get you in Daddy’s car.” I said and ushered them out of the door with Adam. The kids got in and Harry and I put the twins into the car. “I’ll see you later guys. Bye. Love you.” I said and started to walk back up the path.
“Maddie,” Harry grabbed my arm and I turned around.
“Yeah?”
“I’m sorry. I would never hurt you I promise. No matter how angry I get I will never take it out on you or the children. I love you.”
“Okay, I love you too. See you later.” I said and went into the house. I shut the door and watched as they drove off.
“You alright?”
“It’s so hard watching him leave with them. They’re everything I have.” I told Brooke.
“Not everything. You have us. I can see it between you two; you love each other so much. But if he can’t accept your career or even just talk about it with you then he needs to experience life without you. His life had barely started when he met you. Yeah he was famous but he never had a proper girlfriend before you, he doesn’t know what it’s like to lose people, you’ve been together for 13 years but maybe you both just need some space to be without each other.” She said.
“Yeah. This feels wrong. I’m your older sister; I should be giving you advice not getting it.”
“I just don’t want you going through the same thing I went through with Carl. It was horrible. You’ve looked after me since I was little so let me repay you now.”
“Thanks Brooke. What do you want to do today before we go clubbing?”
“I was thinking we could bake. Dads home tomorrow so he’ll appreciate it.”
“Yeah okay,” I agreed and we spend hours baking and then got ready to go out. I was in a tight black dress and Brooke was in a tight purple dress.
“Now let’s go show other guys what Harry has been hiding, get bladdered and forget everything.”
“Yeah, but I think I’ll take these off first.” I took off my three rings.
“Why?”
“Because they make me easily recognisable and I’ll end up throwing them away. I don’t want to do that.”
“I can see the articles already. Maddie Styles on the pull after splitting with husband of 13 years. Maddie wasn’t wearing any of her rings connecting her to the pop star and was seen leaving with another blonde girl, reportedly her sister.” She laughed.
“What the fuck. Let’s do this.” I grabbed my bag and we went to the car. “I haven’t been out for years.”
“Me neither. This is going to be so fun.” Brooke said and we drove to the nightclub. We got there and went straight in. We got some drinks and then started dancing when a guy who looked about 30 came over.
“Hey sexy, showing people what Harry’s been hiding away now you’re single?” He slurred and I cringed. I looked over at Brooke but she was making out with some guy.
“Yeah I guess.” I said.
“Wanna dance then?” He asked. What the hell, what harm can it do.
“Yeah sure,” I agreed and he started to grind on me. This reminds me of my college days. It’s actually cringy. Brooke looked at me.
“Ew,” She mouthed and I laughed. She walked over and looked at me.
“Have you forgotten that you’re married?”
“Nope,” I pulled away from the guy and walked off.
“You’re Maddie Styles.” A fit guy came over to Brooke and I sitting at the bar.
“Yep, and you are?”
“Dan, it’s so nice to meet you.” He said. Fit and kind, can’t go wrong here. I downed a few more cocktails and stood up.
“Are you single?” I asked.
“Yeah,” He said. I got another drink and took it onto the dance floor with Dan. “Aren’t you married?”
“Yep but I don’t give.” I told him and he moved in to kiss me. I’m so drunk that none of this even bothers me. I made out with Dan for a few minutes and then we pulled away.
“Do you want to come back to mine?” He asked. I nodded and told Brooke I was leaving and left with Dan. We got back to his place and began undressing each other. “You’ve been hiding away for too long.” He said as my dress fell to the floor.
“I know.” I told him and we went into the bedroom. I don’t really remember much from there.

Oopsies. Maddie... What have you done?

Sorry for the slow updates recently guys, I've been writing some of the final scenes for this story :( Don't worry though, I'm just really ahead on the writing and am skipping bits so I still have to go back and fill in the gaps! Everything is going to be okay. At this rate, with what I've got left to write and summer coming up, I think I may have finished this story in September. I'm writing an entire 8 month tour so that might take a while and I'm not missing much out, so yeah, that's at least 20 chapters right there. This story still has a lot to come, so get ready for more Styles drama because I guarantee there will be some! Love you guys!
