Overworked

Maddie's P.O.V
It's October 3rd (A/N: I had to) and today I watch another of my children get married. I think we all knew this was coming at some point, Kayleigh was fascinated with Adam when he was a baby and their entire childhood they've spent together. I went into the room where Kayleigh was getting ready with Tyler in my arms. Eleanor smiled at me as I walked towards them, hugging her first.
"You know Kay, we all knew this was coming from the day Adam was born." Eleanor said.
"How?" She turned to her mum.
"You were absolutely fascinated by him, your dad told us to keep Adam away from you but I don't think we did a very good job." I laughed.
"It's cute that you two have been together for your entire life, you've grown up together and you always were the best of friends, I think we all expected it." Eleanor said, just as Louis walked in.
"All my girls are here!" He smiled, clapping his hands.
"Hi Dad," Kayleigh laughed. Louis' still got his funny streak.
"Awh, you brought Tyler." Louis beamed at the sleeping little boy in my arms.
"Yeah, Aaron needs to get ready so I brought him with me." I said. Louis, Eleanor and I are still just as close as we were when Harry and I were together. Louis approved of Aaron more than he did Harry, and said that it was clear he made me happy. He's honestly been like my big brother since I met him all those years ago. He had a period of time after Harry and I split up where he didn't really talk to me, but Eleanor snapped him out of it and reminded him it was inevitable. Everyone knew it was going to happen since we got together all those years ago in 2015. After telling Kayleigh some stories about how she was infactuated with my son when she was little and never left him alone, my phone buzzed.
Aaron<3: Hey, I'm ready and Eve has just dropped Paige off, should we drive up?x
Maddie: I'll come and get you, be there in 10 x
I typed back quickly.
"I've got to go and get Aaron and Paige but I'll see you soon Kayleigh," I kissed her cheek as she smiled at me. I left the room and Adam came running over.
"Mum, I'm having a crisis," He panicked.
"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.
"The woman never turned up to do my hair, it's a mess and Will and Brooke aren't here yet, neither is Lis and she said that her train got delayed and everything is going wrong." He fussed.
"Hey, calm down okay, this day will be perfect. I can sort out your hair, then I'll go and get Lis from wherever she is and just text your sister, she'll turn up soon. What matters is that your beautiful bride is in there. Hold your brother." I gave Tyler to him and got my phone out. I scrolled down my contacts list until I reached the perfect person, 'Louise Teasdale (Atkin)'. I pressed call and the phone rang for a few minutes before she answered it.
"Well if it isn't Maddie Fletcher. How are you?" She joked.
"I'm good thank you but I need to ask you a huge favour."
"I'm listening," she said.
"It's Adam's wedding today, and the woman hasn't turned up to do his hair and it honestly looks like a birds nest and the woman is meant to be doing Kayleigh's hair too, could you come and do it, it's only like 20 minutes down the road from you and we'll pay you." I asked her.
"Of course I'll do it, I don't know why you didn't ask me in the first place." She laughed.
"Harry and Louis didn't want to bother you again,"
"Them boys, I'll be there soon sweetie, is it the same place as Brooklyn's was?" She asked me. Lou did Brooklyn's hair and then Harry didn't want to bother her again so we didn't. We asked Emily too but she's staying in America at the moment and wasn't exactly going to fly over just to do Kayleigh and Adam's hair.
"Just down the road, I'll text you the address, thanks for this Lou, you're a lifesaver." I smiled down the phone.
"You're welcome honey, I'll see you in half an hour then." She ended the call and I texted her the address of the hotel.
"Right, Lou Teasdale is en route to do your hair, where is Melissa?" I asked.
"On her way to King's Cross." He told me.
"Right, I'm going to pick up Aaron, Paige and Lis then and just call Brooklyn and tell her to hurry up." I took Ty back from him and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you Mum!" He shouted as I rushed out, waving to him. I put Tyler in the car and quickly drove to the house to get Aaron and Paige.
"We're making a detour because Lis is still at King's Cross." I told him, beginning to drive in the direction of the train station. It took us half an hour to drive there and Lis was just coming out.
"Melissa get in the car!" I shouted to her and she ran over, getting into the car between Paige and Tyler's car seats. "I told you to either come down the day before or get an earlier train and you didn't listen to me." I shook my head, looking at her in the rearview mirror.
"It's not my fault someone tried to jump on the tracks." She said, "and I had a lecture yesterday afternoon, I couldn't come any sooner." She put her seatbelt on and I drove back to the hotel.
"Your brother is having a crisis. Brooklyn hasn't turned up yet either." I sighed.
"That's not my fault either Mum, I'm sorry that I'm late but I'll get ready as soon as I get to the hotel, I just need my hair done." She told me and I nodded.
"Hopefully by the time we get there Lou will have done Adam and Kayleigh's." I replied.
"I thought Lou wasn't doing this one too."
"She wasn't until the hairdresser didn't turn up this morning and I had to call her."
"Oh," Lis said.
"How's uni going?" Aaron asked her.
"It's good thanks, I've got an assignment to get done by the end of the week and I'll start that before I go back but yeah, it's good."
"What are you doing for your birthday?" He questioned.
"Not much, going out with my friends probably." She said.
"We'll give you your presents to take back with you but don't open them until your birthday, I don't know what your dad's doing."
"I think him and Chelsea are getting me a joint birthday and Christmas present." She told me and I nodded.
"Fair enough," I said, pulling into the car park of the hotel that they're getting married at. Neither of them are particularly religious so they didn't want to have it in a church. Aaron and I got out of the car, taking Tyler and Paige out before Lis climbed out and we went inside. Adam looked up at us before standing up and coming over.
"Brooklyn still isn't here Mum, she's the maid of honour, she needs to fucking get here soon or I'll kill her. We were on time to her wedding." He huffed.
"Language Adam, she'll be here soon okay? You need to calm down. You know how long it takes her and Will to get to places but she's going to have her own hair and make-up done, she just needs to get into her dress, she'll be ready on time. Is Lou here?"
"Yeah, but I realised, Kayleigh's auntie is here anyway and she's qualified."
"Lottie?" I asked and he nodded. "Yeah but she's got herself and her kids to sort out."
"I guess, anyway, are you guys all ready?" He asked us and we nodded.
"Where's your dad?"
"Talking to Louis." He said to me and I made a mental note to avoid Kayleigh's dressing room for now. Eleanor walked out and came and greeted Aaron and Paige.
"Please tell my son to stop fussing," I said to Eleanor as Lis made a quick getaway to go and get ready.
"Why are you fussing? Your bride is here, that's all that matters isn't it?" She asked him.
"The maid of honour and best man aren't though. I'm seriously gonna kill them when they get here." He moaned as my phone went off.
Brooklyn: Tell Adam we're sorry and we'll be there in about 10 minutes, I'm not feeling too good so we didn't want to drive until I was feeling better x
Maddie: What's the matter?x
I waited for a reply before telling Adam.
Brooklyn: I've been throwing up all morning and before you say it I know I need to take a test later x
Brooklyn hasn't been well for the past couple of weeks, and thinks she might be pregnant but is putting it off until after the wedding because she doesn't want to take the attention away from Adam today, but I'm glad she's going to take a test soon. I may be expecting my first grandchild, which is just odd.
"Your sister has been throwing up all morning which is why she's not here yet, they're on their way."
"Trust her to be fucking ill on my wedding day," Adam ran a hand through his hair, frustrated.
"Language! There is a 7 year old present." I scolded him yet again.
"Mummy says naughty words all the time," Paige smiled up at me. Aaron looked so pissed off with that and muttered 'another thing I'll have to talk to Eve about'.
"Well she shouldn't, not in front of you." Aaron knelt down next to her.
"I still want to live with you Daddy, Maddie's a better mummy." Paige complained, hugging him.
"I'll talk to Mummy about it okay?" He sighed, hugging her back. Him and Eve have even worse problems than Harry and I, she stopped Paige from going to Brooklyn's wedding because she said she was looking forward to seeing her sister get married and Eve got pissed that Paige considers Brooke her sister. It's fucked up. She stopped her daughter from going to her step-sister's wedding where she was going to be the flower girl and she was really excited about because Eve doesn't like me, or my children. It's pathetic. Just as Aaron stood up, Brooklyn and Will walked in hand in hand. She looked absolutely awful and he was looking fed up.
"Took your time, Kay and I were at the church for your wedding at 8am and you don't bother to show up to ours until 10, an hour before it starts." Adam decided to start an argument with his older sister.
"I'm ill Adam and I can't help that. Sorry that we're late but I didn't think you'd want me throwing up here to be honest."
"Why are you ill? There's got to be a reason behind it." He carried on the argument.
"Not today Adam, just drop it." She sighed, kissing Will's cheek and going to join the rest of the girls.
"What your sister is doing is trying not to draw any attention to herself on your big day man, that's all she wants and she feels like absolute crap so give her a break okay?" Will said to him and he nodded.
"Have you knocked her up?" Adam decided to keep going, even though both of them have told him to stop now.
"Adam, that's none of your business, go and get ready." I said and he huffed again, walking back to where he's getting ready with Will trailing behind.
"Is she?" Eleanor asked me.
"She's got all the symptoms and she thinks so but she doesn't want to draw any attention to herself on Adam and Kayleigh's day so she hasn't checked yet." I answered and El nodded. Paige started complaining about needing the toilet so I gave Tyler to Aaron and took her towards the bathroom.
Adam's P.O.V
I went into the room and watched as Will got ready.
"Is she pregnant?" I asked him.
"We don't know, she doesn't want to check until your wedding is out of the way." He replied, buttoning up his shirt.
"I'm sorry I'm in such a bad mood but literally everything is going wrong this morning and I want today to be perfect, for Kayleigh." I said.
"I know how you feel mate, I was the exact same in June. I wanted the best for your sister as well, it will be over soon and Kayleigh will be your wife though, just look forward to that."
"How is married life?"
"I'm married to your sister, if I say anything bad you'll kill me." He laughed.
"I won't, I just want your opinion."
"You're gonna be whipped, I spent all this morning holding Brooklyn's hair back, I was whipped enough before and now it's even worse, that's something to look forward to." Will joked.
"I still can't get over the fact that you're married to her, I hated you when you first started dating her and now you're like one of my best mates."
"You didn't know me when I first started dating her, every time I was round your house, you were at Kayleigh's, you didn't take the time to get to know me back then, you just thought I was going to hurt your sister. It was cute that you were so protective over her really." He shrugged, pulling his jacket on.
Kayleigh's P.O.V
"Uh-oh," Brooklyn said, rushing into the bathroom.
"Someone get Will, and maybe find me a replacement maid of honour," I sighed as she threw up. Harry left and went to find Will, coming back minutes later with him in tow.
"Hey, how you feeling?" Will walked into the bathroom where she was now sitting on the floor.
"Crap. I feel so bad. I don't think I can do this today." I heard Brooklyn.
"Dad, can you get Mum please?" I turned to him and he nodded leaving the room. They came back seconds later.
"What's the matter honey?" Mum asked me.
"Brooklyn's too ill to be my maid of honour, I don't know what to do." I said as my brother walked in with his girlfriend Rosie.
"I think you've just found your answer," she said, looking at Rosie.
"Do I have to?" I said quietly.
"She's your brother's girlfriend and you haven't even made her a bridesmaid, c'mon Kay..." Mum tried to persuade me just as Brooklyn walked out of the bathroom.
"Are you okay?" I asked her and she nodded.
"You might want to find someone to take my place though, I feel so bad." She sat down with Will next to her. I looked at the girls in the room, my mum can't be, Freya and Amelia are too young, I don't want Rosie to be, I looked at my last option, Melissa.
"Congratulations Lis, you're my maid of honour." I said, startling her.
"Really?" She said at the same time as Sam glared at me.
"Yeah, what's your problem Sam?" I asked.
"Is there any point us being here? I'm Adam's best friend but nope, his best man is Will and Rosie is standing right here and you look around and choose Lis of all people as your maid of honour to replace sick note. Rosie's not even considered in the bridesmaids. You should care about your brother and his girlfriend, you know what, fuck you, we're going." He said, walking out of the room as Dad followed after him.
"Samuel Tomlinson get back here right now!" Dad shouted.
"I give up, cancel the wedding for all I care, I'm not doing this," I stood up and walked into the bathroom, slamming the door shut and locking behind me.
Eleanor's P.O.V
We all watched as Kayleigh walked into the bathroom and slammed the door, locking it.
"I'll go get Adam," Harry said and I stopped him.
"Don't worry him. He's worked up enough as it is. I'm going to sort out my son, someone persuade her to get out of the bathroom before Brooklyn throws up on her dress." I walked out of the room, seeing Louis arguing with Sam.
"I don't care how pissed off you are, it's your sister's wedding day and it's up to her and Adam as to who they want in their wedding party. Brooklyn's still here and she's throwing up every 10 seconds but she's come to support her brother and best friend so you should support your sister and best friend. He may have chosen Will over you for best man but it's his brother in law, you're not yet, plus it made sense considering Brooklyn was maid of honour. You know full well that your sister doesn't like Rosie so she doesn't have to include her in her wedding if she doesn't want to. Now go back there and apologise to her." Louis scolded.
"Don't bother, she wants to cancel the wedding now." I said and Sam's face dropped.
"Because of me?" He questioned.
"You're her brother, she wants you here, you might not be best man but she wants you here Sam. Her maid of honour is sick, her groom is pissed off with everything, she's not having much luck and the last thing she needs is her brother refusing to stay and watch her get married. Go and apologise before Brooklyn throws up on her dress, we need her out of that bathroom and soon." I said and he nodded, leaving Rosie in the lobby as he walked back towards Kayleigh.
"Why did we have kids?" Louis laughed and I leant against him.
"Because we thought it would be fun." I shut my eyes as he wrapped his arms around me.
"How wrong were we?" He said, chuckling. We went back and Kayleigh walked out of the bathroom.
"Brooke, catch." Maddie threw a box of tablets at her. "They're for morning sickness. Take some and be your brother and best friend's maid of honour for god sake." She said and Brooklyn nodded, picking up a water bottle and taking two of the tablets. After 15 minutes, she felt fine and Will went back to get ready.
"Right, are we ready to get into dresses now? Is all the drama over?" Louis asked and everyone laughed as him, Sam and Harry left the room so they could get themselves sorted, and so Kayleigh could put her dress on.
Adam's P.O.V
Half an hour after all of the drama was over, it was time. Louis went to collect Kayleigh as I went and stood at the end of the aisle with Will. I smiled at all of my guests as Dad was the last one to come and take his seat.
Maddie's P.O.V
The music started and everyone stood up as Paige and Leo came in, then Kayleigh and Louis walked into the room, followed by my girls. Adam smiled at his beautiful bride as she joined him at the end of the aisle.
"We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the uniting in marriage of Kayleigh Joanne Tomlinson and Adam Thomas Styles." The minister introduced.
"Adam, I've loved you for as long as I can remember. Both of our parents have said that I was obsessed with you when we were younger. I remember thinking when we were kids that I wanted to marry you one day, and I guess my dreams came true, because here we are. I promise to love you every single day until death do us part. We've been together since you were born, and we will be until we die. I love you Adam Styles, you are my love, my life, and my world." Kayleigh said, which reduced me to tears. Eleanor was crying too. Then it was Adam's turn.
Once he had said his vows, they exchanged rings.
"Do you, Adam Thomas Styles, take Kayleigh Joanne Tomlinson to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The minister asked Adam and he smiled at her before declaring,
"I do."
"Do you, Kayleigh Joanne Tomlinson, take Adam Thomas Styles to be your lawfully wedded husband?" He asked her and she smiled at Adam before answering,
"I do."
"By the power vested in me by the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride." The minister announced to my child for the second time this year and Adam leant in and kissed Kayleigh, making us all applaud.
Two of my babies are now married, yes I have another four to go but it's weird having two of them married. I'm just coming to terms with Brooklyn being married but now Adam is as well. I never thought I'd be here so soon watching my kids get married but I am, and it's amazing. They've found their soulmates, and they truly have. Brooklyn and Will have been together since 15, and now they're probably expecting a baby together 7 years on. My little girl is going to be a mummy, which is just strange. 23 years ago, I had my little girl and now she's married and with a baby on the way, probably. Although my marriage with Harry didn't work out, I got five adorable children out of it, and it was good while it lasted, no matter how many times we fell out of love and broke up. However, I feel so much happier being a Fletcher than a Styles. Aaron is my soulmate, I know that now, and I wish I'd found him sooner than I did but I'm glad we ended up together eventually. It's a cute love story. Anyway, back to the wedding. We took the usual pictures before Adam and Kayleigh went off to take some pictures on their own before coming to their reception. We all went into the other room and took our places at the tables, which with our family was quite difficult. On the top table was Will, Chelsea, Harry, Eleanor, Adam, Kayleigh, Louis, me, Aaron and Brooklyn. Then on table no 1. was Sam, Rosie, Melissa, Amelia, Freya, Paige and Leo. Paige and Leo have a little rivalry going on so they were sat on opposite sides of the table. Table number two consisted of Niall, his wife Carly, Drew and Isabella, their 7 year old. Also on that table sat Perrie, Zayn, George and Tyler, who they are looking after for Aaron and I. Liam joined them all, with his wife Sophia. His and Danielle's relationship broke up a year after Harry and I's and he moved onto Sophia quite quickly. She's an absolutely lovely girl and I'm pleased that Liam is happy. They had a little boy called Oliver and he sat with them too. Table 3 had Danielle and Leah on it. Danielle and Liam can be civil, but they don't see each other much. Liam and Sophia are both from Wolverhampton, so they moved there, which also happens to be where Leah goes to boarding school. Danielle however, stayed here in London as it's where she's from, much like Harry and I. She never got remarried and said she didn't see the point in it. Louis and Harry's families sat with Danielle and Leah, and they engaged in conversation quite a lot. Mine and Eleanor's families shared a table, with my sisters and their husbands and children conversing with Eleanor's parents. My dad kept himself to himself and my mum sadly can't be here. She lost a battle to cancer about 5 years ago, and it crushed me. I was flying back and forth to LA, just to go and see her in hospital. It wasn't until I got the call that we were being told to say our goodbyes that it really kicked in though. She passed away 24 hours after I got there, surrounded by all of her family. Since that day, Dad hasn't been the same. He stopped directing and producing films and retired. He spends his days at home, by himself, watching TV. Mum was his driving force, and once she was gone he saw no point anymore. It's really sad, because the only time I've seen him smile in the last few years was when he was walking me down the aisle towards Aaron, knowing I was finally out of my trainwreck marriage and about to commit to someone I really loved.
After much small talk, Will got a text and walked over to the microphone.
"Please join me in welcoming for the first time, Mr and Mrs Styles," He spoke as they walked into the room, making the way to the table. Everyone stood and clapped as they got here and sat down. Once dinner had been served, it was time for the speeches. Only Louis and Adam are making them.
"Right, I'd first like to thank you all for coming to celebrate my gorgeous daughter's wedding to Adam. It's been a pleasure to spend such a beautiful day with all of you. Next, I have a complaint to make. Maddie and Harry, did we or did we not tell you, as soon as that little boy arrived, to keep him AWAY from our daughter?" Louis sassed, making both Harry and I laugh. "I don't think you did a good job, considering here we are today, on their wedding day." Louis rolled his eyes and Kayleigh slapped his arm. "It's okay, I forgive you both, considering it was my daughter who had the obsession with the Styles'. Maddie was her substitute mum, if Eleanor wasn't enough, she'd go to Maddie, and so started Adam and Kayleigh's friendship, which gradually turned into a relationship. Living on different continents didn't even stop them. Skyping every single day, we'd hear Kayleigh talking to him, little did she know she'd be here today, married to her childhood crush." Louis teased Kayleigh. The rest of his speech was teasing them both and then he made a toast before sitting down and kissing Kayleigh on the cheek.
"After that lovely speech, it's my turn," Adam laughed, looking at Louis. "I want to thank you all for joining us today, to celebrate such a special moment in both of our lives. You've all been a huge part of our life, one way or another. We wouldn't want to spend our special day with anyone else. Instead of Louis, I want to thank my mum and dad for NOT keeping me away from my beautiful wife. I knew from day one that Kayleigh Tomlinson was the girl I wanted to marry, and I wasn't going to stop until I got her. We've grown up together, lived our lives in sync, been through the same things. We understand each other, not many people know what it's like to go on the road with your dad, travelling to loads of countries, and even though we were only kids, I remember it all. Not many people would understand the life we've lived, constant scrutiny from the public from day one, but Kayleigh does. Perhaps that's one of the things that attracted me to her, she was in the same boat as me, she understood, knew what was going on. I'm incredibly lucky to be married to this phemomenal girl, and I want to thank Eleanor and Louis for giving me this opportunity, your daughter is the love of my life, and I will never forget that. I love her with all of my heart, and I will for the rest of my days. I love you Mrs Kayleigh Joanne Styles, thank you so much for making me the happiest man alive." Adam finished up his speech, sitting down next to a crying Kayleigh and hugging her. I'm glad my baby boy found his girl, even if she was right there from the start. We all started to move around and socialise and Gemma immediately came running over to me.
"I haven't seen you in soooooo long!" She said, pulling me into a hug.
"I saw you in June, Gemma." I laughed as she let go of me.
"For like two minutes, it doesn't count. I haven't seen you properly in about 8 years." She sighed.
"That's because your brother and I got divorced and I didn't think he'd be too happy that I was still talking to his sister." I reminded her.
"Oh well, we were really good friends when you guys were together and then you just stopped talking to me, it was really upsetting. I've missed you. Now, where are your husband and child?" She asked.
"Really? You want to meet your brother's replacement?" I joked.
"Yeah, where is he?" She looked around and I took her hand and led her over to where he was standing playing with our son.
"Aaron, this is Gemma, Harry's sister, Gemma, this is my husband Aaron," I introduced them.
"Hi, I get it might be a bit weird meeting your wife's ex sister in law but we were such good friends back then." Gemma shook his hand and made a funny face at Tyler.
"It's okay, I still talk to my ex wife's sister occasionally." Aaron said. I knew that, and I'm not bothered. They were close when him and Eve were married and I'm not going to stop him from talking to her. They had a small conversation before Anne came over, stopping it.
"Maddie, how have you been?" She hugged me.
"I've been good thank you Anne, what about you?" I replied.
"I've been great, but I must confess, I much preferred you to Chelsea." She said quietly. I laughed slightly and Aaron cleared his throat.
"Oh right, Anne, this is my husband Aaron and my son Tyler." I said, feeling weird introducing my ex's mum to my husband and new child.
"Oh Maddie, he's so cute," She gazed at Tyler.
"Thank you Anne," I smiled. Aaron, Gemma, Anne and I all had a conversation for a while before Harry interrupted.
"Gem, Mum, can I talk to you?" He asked and they nodded, following him over to Chelsea.
"So, who else are we going to talk to? Any more of your ex's family you want to introduce to me?" Aaron joked.
"Nope, Gemma and Anne were about it." I laughed, leaning up to kiss him.
"Daddy!" Paige came running over, hugging Aaron's legs.
"Hey princess, you okay?" He crouched down to her level, still holding Tyler in his arms.
"Yeah, I'm having fun! Melissa was playing with me but then her daddy wanted her for something." She pouted, making Aaron laugh.
"That's okay, why don't you go and see if Auntie Faye or Alex wants to play?" He suggested and the little girl ran off to my sister and her daughter. Just as Aaron stood up again, Liam and Sophia walked over.
"Hey Mads," Liam kissed my cheek and I hugged Sophia.
"Hi, how are you guys?" I questioned.
"We're good, congratulations by the way, second child married off, only four more to go," Liam joked.
"Yep, I'll be bored of weddings by the time it's this ones turn." I tickled Tyler, making him squirm in Aaron's arms and giggle.
"I'm so glad you found someone who made you happier than Haz, you've finally found your soulmate, as I have mine," Liam pulled Sophia into his side.
"I'm glad too, I don't think I could have stayed in that marriage much longer." I sighed and we talked for a while. Aaron and I walked around, mingling with all of the guests before I went over to my family's table. "Hey guys," I sat down next to Brooke's son Jackson.
"Hey," Brooke smiled, looking up from her baby boy, Aiden. She has 3 children, her oldest, Aimee, then 5 year old Jackson and 8 month old Aiden with her husband Jonathon, her and Calum didn't last very long in the end because they lost their spark and broke up. Faye has 2 children, 2 daughters, 4 year old Alexandra, Alex for short, and 2 year old Victoria with Nathan.
"How are you guys?" I asked as Victoria came over and took my hand.
"Auntie Maddie!" She squealed in excitement.
"Hey baby girl," I picked her up and sat her on my lap.
"We're good, finding it weird that your second child is now married but yeah," Faye laughed.
"I find it weird too, trust me. I've still got another four to go though." I agreed with her. I looked over at Dad and he was just sitting, looking down at his hands. "Dad, come on, cheer up. It's your grandson's wedding day." I sighed.
"Your mother would have wanted to be here." He said to me, not looking up.
"She is here, she's in all of our hearts Dad, none of us have forgotten her, especially not today. I know you miss her but we all do, you can't be the only one moping about." I told him and he nodded.
"I'm sorry, it's just hard for me Maddie. It's hard being here without her, she was the love of my life. It's hard seeing all of the grandchildren that your mum will never get to meet. It's hard for me, your mum was all I had known and her death crushed me. You of all people know that. I'm aware that it's your son's wedding day but forgive me for not being extremely happy that the love of my life is missing this." He said, looking me in the eye now. I looked over at Adam to see him and Kayleigh talking to Brooklyn and Will. My two oldest, married. It's so strange. After talking to my sisters for a while, the DJ introduced Adam and Kayleigh and started playing their first dance song. I handed Victoria back to Faye and went to where Aaron was standing, watching. Today has been a great day, no matter how much drama there has been.
