finding family

Chapter 1 Ellies p.o.v “Ellie come here for a second please” I hear my mother call for me I walk over to find her and my dad standing as straight as they could be next to the couch in the living room, that could only mean one thing important news, usually bad but on occasion it’s not “yes mum?” I stand there slightly nervous that I might be in trouble remembering about when ebonee and tayla snuck me out to that party last week oh gawd they found out-my thoughts get interrupted by dad speaking “ellie we have something to tell you…” there was a long pause before they both said at once “your adopted” hearing those words sink in until I finally spoke “um okay” I turned and walked into my room before slamming it. I never was good at showing my feelings I never really just cried my heart out like regular 16 year old girls with there make up and hot boyfriends and/or tubs of ice cream .I just sat there on my bed for a minute thinking that it makes sense why I felt like I never really fit in with my ‘family’ they were all blonde haired and super smart and into maths and I well was just creative with brown hair and a pinch bit weird. Anyway what did it matter that I was adopted my ‘biological’ mother and father probably didn’t want me anyway that’s why I was adopted right? right? After thinking over what had just happened I decided to call one of my best friends’ ebonee I pick up my phone go in to contacts a touch the call button next to ebonies’ name I wait a few minutes before I give up then realising she probably out getting high or drinking it’s a Sunday so probably so I call my next choice tayla I press the call button and its answered in seconds “hi its ellie can we talk?” I ask her quietly “uh sure make it quick though im kinda busy” I hear a vacuum which makes it harder to hear her so I just kinda shout through the phone “im adopted!” she screams “what?!” I give up and just hang up I will tell her tomorrow at school.
