Best Thing I Never Had - Sequel to 'Skinny love'

'Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here' I sang along with Ed as he did a cover of 'Skinny Love' by Bon Iver. I looked ovre at Niall, still singing. He was looking at me, a content smile on his lips. I laughed and pushed his shoulder, coninuing singing. He smiled, looking down at the ground and stuffing his hands in his pockets.
I went back to watching Ed from backstage. I looked over at Mer and knew she was too into the concert to even acknowledge my existence. I looked down at my phone, locking it when I saw Chad had texted me. We had been getting in a couple of disagreements the past week, but i knew it was just because his school and my school and we were both stressed and I knew we weren't going to break up a 2 year realationship because of a stupid fight and him being jealous.
"I saw that" a raspy voice said in my ear. I looked up and saw Niall standing beside me , watching Ed. I put my phone into my back pocket "How much?" I asked and he shrugged "Just his text, nothing else". I nodded and he looked down at me. "What's going on between you two?" He asked, scrunching his eyes together and I laughed sarcasticaly. "You. He's jealous that I'll cheat on him with you. Apparently I'm not aloud to have guy friends when I'm dating him" I laughed coldly. He smiled sadly down at me, putting his arm around my shoulder and squeasing my shoulder.
I leaned my head on his shoulder, where it fit perfectly and continued watching the concert.

Maybe I should let you go' I felt Niall humming, his head laying on my own. He was swaying a little bit, making me smile at how adorable he was being. I wrapped my arm around his waist and saw him smile.

I walked beside Niall as Mer and I squealed about the concert. Mine and Nialls hands grazing eachother every once in a while. I had the urge to reach out and grab it but held my ground. We reached my car, Mer and I getting in. Niall closed my door for me as I put the key in the ignition, rolling my window even more down. "I missed doing this.. Us three" I said, looking over at Mer too and she smiled, nodding. "We should do it again" Niall smiled and I agreed. Mer's phone rang, probably my brother calling. "Thank you, Niall. I really needed this tonight" I smiled and he shrugged. "Anytime" "I better get going, Chad's already gonna be mad at me" I laughed a little and he shook his head. "Alright, I'll see you later guys" He backed up and I smiled as we backed out of our parking spot.
Mer and I waved at him as we drove to my place.

I dropped off Mer at her place and only took 5 minutes till I was at mine. I walked in quietly, since Chad would be asleep and it was 12:00 at nihgt. I walked into our room, sitting my stuff down and changing into my pajama's. I slid into bed beside him, wraping my arms around him from behind. "Did you have fun?" He asked, turning around to face me. "Yeah" I laid onto his chest and closed my eyes. "Are you still coming to Nick's game tomorrow?" He asked. "Yeah! I could bring Mer and Ni so you all could meet properly" I smiled and he nodded before we both drifted to sleep.
