Best Thing I Never Had - Sequel to 'Skinny love'

-2 MONTHS LATER-
I watched the baseball game going on a block over with my 2 best friends, like highschool again. Sitting on Gracie's roof after being in the ocean for hours on in, just talking about everything. "So, your now single?" Grace asked as they hit a home run. "Single as it gets" I smiled and she went back to her phone. I was sitting between Mer and Grace, in the middle. "Are you even talking to Niall?" Mer asked, looking over at me. "Nope. I'm not talking to any guy, the rest of this summer it is going to be all about me and my friends. I have one more month left and I am not going to waist it on guys. I've spent the whole first of my summer doing that. "I've gotta go, dad wants me to get some stuff from the store" I smile before getting down and walking over to my dad's house.

"DAD! What do you want me to get at the store?" I asked, taking off my wet t-shirt and throwing it in the dryer. I walked upstairs to my room, changing into comfy clothes then going back downstairs. I heard the front door shut. "Dad?" I asked turning the corner. "Niall?" I questioned once I turned the corner. "Maci, if you would just listen to me.. I can explain" His eyes were red and he walked closer to me. "Niall-" I was cutt off by the unfamiliar taste of his lips on mine. I felt his hand hold onto the back of my shirt and the other on the side of my neck. I gave in and began kissing him back. After 2 years i felt like I finally was happy again, and felt young, and free. I grabbed onto his waist, pulling him closer to me with force. He laughed on my lips and I pulled back, just giving him a few small pecks on the lips, the grin on my face bigger with every kiss.
"I have to go" I smiled, just inches from his face. "Can I talk to you real quick before you go?" He pouted his lips, making me give in. We walked over to my couch, sitting down. "Okay, I know that I have done some dumb things when we were together and I just.. I love you, Maci" He laughed at the end. "When Harry started dating you, it really hit me how much I liked you and I tried to just let it go, and forget about it. Then we started seeing eachother and that was the happiest I have ever been, then Everything went wrong. You started dating some one else and I was shattered, it just made me want you even more, and I know that this is my last chance to make things right between us" He got closer to me, kneeling down so our faces were cenimeters from eachothers. "I can't imagine my life without you in it, Maci. Spending time with you is the highlight of my day, I love the way I feel when I’m with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.. Someday. You’re easily the most wonderful thing in my life, and I just want you back. I want things to be the way they were. So, Maci Krystelle Leyton, Will you be my girlfriend?" I felt my mouth go dry and I just hook my head. "Yeah" I mummbled a smile spreading across my face. "Really? You will?" He smiled and I nodded, grabbing his neck in a hug. He stood up, taking me with him. "I love you so much, Maci." He ssaid, kissing me, moving down to my neck, then my collarbones. I giggled, making him laugh, too. I heard an awkward cough from behind him and he quickly stopped, standing beside me.
"Uhm, What is going on here?" My dad asked and I felt myself blush, looking down. "She said 'Yes'" He smirked and my dad clapped him on the back. I quickly looked up and saw both of them smiling. "What.. is going on?" I asked and Niall looked down at me, smiling. "He knew all along, that's why he wasn't here when you came home, also how I got in." He laughed and I shoved Niall and He raised his hands in defence.
My dad laughed and walked upstairs with Lucy. "Are you serious? How long have you been planning this?" I laughed as his hands went around my waist tightly, pulling me to him.
"The whole time I was in Florida, pretty much. None of my plans would work on you so I asked Lucy and your Dad." "Wow, You are such a dork" I laughed and he shrugged. "Your dork" He laughed, kissing my nose. "And cheesy" I threw my head back laughing. "Whatever" He laughed.
