When Nightmares Become Reality

Chapter 15
We left the hospital and I got into a car with Danielle and Eleanor while the boys went in a van and said they would meet as at my apartment.
‘So, are you and Niall like going to be official yet?’ Eleanor asked.
‘I don’t know, I don’t know what he wants to do with the note situation and everything’ I said shrugging ‘you’d have to ask him’
‘it’s your choice too you know’ Danielle said as we parked the car out the front.
‘I know, but I don’t want to rush things, like in the media or anything’ I said as we got out of the car.
I walked up to the door and got my keys out of my pocket. I looked around before putting the key in the lock. Turning the door knob I felt that something was wrong. ‘Wait’ Danielle said as she put her hand in front of me stoping me from going any further. ‘Maybe I should check the house first.’ she said as she looked back at me. ‘Just in case’
‘yeah, I’ll come with you Danielle but maybe we shouldn’t leave Jazz by herself out her. You know Niall would go spaz at us’
‘I’ll stay with her’ a voice came from behind us all. I turned around and recognized the face straight away.
‘Dad? What are you doing here!?’
‘I heard you were in the hospital, whether you like it or not you are still my daughter and that means I have responsibilities, one of them include making sure your okay after you were hit by a car and are in a coma for a week’ his speech was a bit slurred. Meaning he had been drinking. Great.
‘Danielle, Eleanor. I think I’m okay now, me and my dad have some things to discuss’ I said staring at my dad.
‘I don’t know jazz, I don’t think it’s such a good idea and the boys will be here any minute anyway.’ Eleanor said as she put her arm around me while holding the other out ‘hi, I’m Eleanor. It’s a pleasure to meet you’
‘please to meet you my dear, my name is Damian’ my father said as he kissed Eleanor’s hand sloppily. She looked over at me and made a face saying ‘help’
‘dad, come on inside, Danielle and Eleanor and the boys will be joining us’ I said as I opened the door and let him walk first.
We walked up the stairs in silence and reached my apartment door quickly. ‘So Damien, your daughters a good dancer I’ve heard?’ Danielle asked as we walked in.
‘I wouldn’t know, I’ve never seen her dance. Her mother always took her to them stupid things’ he said making a face at me. Typical dad.
‘Oh Danielle, my dancing class. I totally missed it! I was late last week and missed it all together this week! Crap!’
‘it’s okay Jazz; I went and taught them some simple steps’ Danielle said as she went into my bathroom.
‘I just got a message from Louis, they’ll e upstairs in 3, 2, 1’ when she heard one Louis jumper through the door pulling his best superman pose.
‘Your an idiot Louis’ Zayn said as he walked in second. They all laughed. Niall came over to me and kissed me lightly and his attention went across the room and saw my dad.
He got up pulling me behind him and walked over to him, ‘hello sir’ he said as he held out his hand ‘my name is Niall Horan and I am your daughter’s boyfriend and the one who was talking to you on the phone’ my dad grabbed his hand staring into his eyes.
‘So you’re the one who abused me over the phone’ his said as his voice rose and his grip tightened on Niall’s hand but Niall didn’t back down, he stared back at him.
‘dad! Let him go’ I said raising my voice. He laughed and let Niall’s hand go.
‘It’s all a joke right, no hard feelings right Niall?’ he said as he put his arm around Niall. He tried walking but stumbled over his feet and feel face first into the wooden floors and seconds later he was snoring.
‘You guys really should get going. It late and I have to take care of my dad anyways’ I said as I bent down and tried picking him up.
‘Harry! Liam! Come help me get jazz’s dad to the lounge!’ Niall yelled and Harry and Liam came from the lounge room.
‘Oh god, did he hurt his face?’ Harry laughed as he bent down with Liam on the other side my dad.
It took a couple I try’s but we got him and we were all saying good-bye. Everyone had left and it was just Niall and I standing at the doorway.
‘Are you sure you don’t want me to stay and help you with him’ he said pointing to my dad.
‘No really its fine, I’ll see you tomorrow alright?’
‘okay’ he said as he pulled me close and kissed me, soft and slow. We stood there for about 2 minutes just hugging.
We said our last good-byes and he walked down the stairs. I closed the door and walked back to my kitchen.
I didn’t want to sleep; I didn’t feel safe enough to sleep. So I decided to bake some cupcakes for Nialls tomorrow. Irish colours.
I put them in the oven and set the timer for 40 minutes. I turned around to find my dad looking in the refrigerator. ‘Where is all your beer?’ he said as he looked up at me.
‘You know I don’t drink dad’ I said as I walked over to him and started to push him back towards the lounge. ‘You need to sleep again, you look like you haven’t slept for ages’ and also because I don’t want to speak to you yet. I said to myself.
I finally got him to the lounge room but he was fighting to sit down ‘jazz, I have a ticket for you to come back to Australia tomorrow at 10’
‘what are you talking about, I’m not coming back to Australia. My life is here now.’
‘no, you will be coming home tomorrow, no ifs or buts’
’ no dad, you have no say in what I do anymore.’
‘I have every right! And you will listen to me without all of this back talk!’
‘No dad! I’m not going anywhere’ I screamed as I got closer to his face.
‘You will do as I say missy!’
‘No dad!’
My dad slapped me across the face. He slapped it with such force it threw me on to the lounge. ‘I’m sorry Jazz, I didn’t mean it.’ He said as I got up with my hand on my already swollen face.
‘Don’t touch me’ I spat each word. ‘You can stay here tonight, I’m staying with Niall, but I want you gone by tomorrow!’ and with that I walked slamming the door behind me.
