The Water's Sweet but Blood is Thicker

Abby POV

We all headed outside and I ran towards the shed. Where are they I know I saw them earlier. I grabbed a short blue surfboard, a leash and some wax went to go back outside. At I turned I felt the edge of a surfboard hit a weight.
"Ooof."
Looking over the edge of the board I see Liam laying on the ground.
"Oh my gosh are you okay?" I ask before covering my mouth with my free hand.
"Oh so the quiet one speaks." Liam jokes. "Yeah I'm okay. I was just going to grab a board as well."
I smiled and walked out.
"Nice shirt by the way." Liam calls from behind me.
My face starts to turn pink. I grab the board and hold it across my stomach. It is the most awkward way to carry a surfboard but it covered my stomach. Why I let Danielle pick out my outfit I'll never know. Making it to the beach I set down the surfboard and crossed my arms over my stomach. Danielle walked over to me.
"Girl put your arms down."
I shook my head. Danielle takes me by the shoulders and turns me towards her.
"Come on girl your thin, tanned and really fit there's nothing to be ashamed of mow put your arms down oh and if you do maybe you'll get a little more attention. She says waggling her eyebrows.
I open my mouth and stare at her in shock.
"I...I....I don't.....I......um." I say running my fingers through my hair.
Danielle laughs.
"See that's better."
I groan and grab the wax and head over to the surfboard. I run my fingers across the surface. Completely smooth, great......that means I have to start from scratch. I start to run the wax over my board when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look up and see Liam standing there.
"Hmmmm..."
"Well the board I have isn't waxed so I was wondering if I could use the wax after your done."
"Sure." I go back to waxing.
"Oh and Abby." I look back up at him.
"The shirt comment earlier it just has to do with batman I really like batman. It wasn't referring to how short it is. I um wasn't staring at your stomach well okay I was but umm...okay." Liam says blushing and running his hand over the back of his neck.
I feel my face start to turn a deep red.
"Okay?" I say pathetically.
I turn back to waxing and I hear Liam leave. Finishing I get up and walk towards Danielle.
"Liam." I exclaim.
When he turns to look at me I toss him the wax. I walk up to Danielle.
"I think I'm going out."
Danielle grabs my arm and pulls me aside.
"Okay and what was that with Liam a second ago? He was blushing and looking nervous as hell."
"Nothing." I quickly say widening my eyes. "It was nothing."
"Okay if you say so." Danielle says in a sing-song voice flipping her hair and walking away.
I roll my eyes, grab the surfboard and towel and start walking down the beach to the good break.
"Abby!" I hear from behind me.
Turning around I see Liam jogging up to me with his board and towel.
"Can I join you?"
"If you want." I say and keep walking
We walk down the beach till almost the end where the big waves are. Setting down my towel I start to walk towards the ocean.
"Forgetting something?" Liam asks.
I crinkle my forehead at him. He looks me up and down with raise eyebrows. Creepy much. I look down and see why he was giving me that look. I quickly turn my back to him and slip my shorts and shirt off.
"Okay I would just like to say this was not my choice in swimsuit it was Danielle's." I say turning around.
"Well...okay but um wow you look good."
I stare at the ground and feel my face turn bright red. Why do I have to blush so much? Curse you fair skin. This is the first time I've blushed this much in a long time though.
"Well let go?" Liam asks trying to clear the awkward situation.
I nod my head and run into the surf. Getting onto my board I start to head out. I see Liam come up beside me.
"If we catch the rip it will be easier." I yell to him.
Liam nods and we catch the rip out. Getting out of the shore break the water is a lot calmer and I sit up on my board. Liam does the same.
"So do you surf often?"
"Not as much as I'd like. You?"
"I do when I can but its hard fitting things around tour dates and all that."
I nod my head. We continue to small talk and catch waves for what seems like hours. I look up finally noticing where we were on the shoreline. I catch Liam's attention and nod my head towards the shore.
"What?"
"Look."
Liam looks confused and then notices how far we've drifted.
"Wow were really far from where we first started." Liam says stating the obvious.
"Yeah." I say sarcastically and laugh.
"Well there's a little beach over there. We could head over there and then re-evaluate." Liam suggests.
"Okay." I say nodding my head.
We paddled in my arms straining from the effort. I was exhausted from surfing his long. Liam reached the beach before I did. Climbing out of the water Liam sets his board down and then falls over dramatically with his arms spread. While doing so I notice his muscles for the first time. With the water dripping off his tan muscles. Liam looked like something out of a modeling shoot.
"Take a picture it will last longer." Liam says cheekily as I finally make it out of the water.
I freeze and start to spill out nonsense before stopping myself. My cheeks turn a bright red for it must be the millionth time today. I sigh and shake my head before turning around and falling back into the sand like Liam did. I had aimed to fall next to him but instead I end up falling on top of him.
"Oh sorry."
"It's okay." Liam says.
I scoot till I'm next to him. Liam still hasn't taken his arm out from underneath me and honestly I don't care.
"I haven't been this tired in who knows how long."
We talk for a little bit and I feel myself start to relax around Liam. It feels like I can tell him anything and he wont judge me.
"Do you think we should be getting back?"
"15 more minutes." Liam says. "If I had to get up right now I think I would fall over."
"Okay." I say and close my eyes enjoying the warm sun and the soft sand. The sound of the waves slowly lull me to sleep.

I finally awake nestled into Liam's side. Our legs are tangled, my head is on his shoulder and I a practically lying half on top of him. I look up and see Liam looking at me with a soft smile.
"What?"
"Good evening sleepy head."
Wait evening? I look up and see that the sun is about to set.
"Ugh! How long have you been awake?"
"For a little while." Liam says.
"And you didn't think to wake me?" I say annoyed.
"Why?"
"Ugh do I have to spell it out for you. We went to the beach with people. People who expect us to come back from surfing. Its been at least 7 hours since we went out don't you think they will be a little worried?" I ask.
Liam shrugs his shoulders.
"Probably not. They know were together and were big kids we can take care of ourselves."
"Ugh! your impossible!" I exclaim and go to storm away when Liam grabs my wrist.
"Abby we were out this long stay and watch the sunset we can walk back afterwards."
"Liam."
He looks up and gives me the puppy dog face
"Ugh okay."
I sit next to him.
"Do you want to hear something weird."
Liam looks at me.
"Ugh never mind its stupid."
"No tell me."
"Well I've always heard of the green flash but never seen it and I really want to."
"Thats not stupid. I've always kinda wanted to see it too. " Liam says with a smile.
We sit back and watch the sunset.
"Well no green flash." Liam says disappointingly.
"Nope." I say sadly.
"Well how about this. We can watch the sunset together every night until we see it? Even if it takes the whole trip."
I look at him out from behind my hair.
"Okay I would like that."
Liam starts to grin.
"Well we better get going." Liam says getting up.
He offers me his hand and I take it. Standing up I crash right into him.
"Ooops sorry it seems like I'm running into you a lot today."
"Yeah I know. You've gotten so used to it you've stopped blushing." Liam says with a smirk.
I look at him in shock.
"just kidding." Liam says with a nudge.
We walk back along the ocean, talking and laughing. When we reach our stuff we grab it and head up to the mansion. Laughing we enter the kitchen when we hear someone clear their throat. I look up and see most of the others in the adjoining living room.
"So where have you guys been?" Danielle asks.
I look back at Liam who is smiling and shaking his head. I turn back to Danielle and bite my lip.
"Ummm..........."
