Rachel's P.O.V.

Austinn left, leaving the rest of us shocked.

I wasn't even that surprised at Harry's reaction. Me and Danielle meant everything to him. We were his little sisters and he always wanted to protect us. I don't think he knew what to do now that Dani was pregnant.

"You okay?" Louis asked, from where he was sitting next to me on the couch, rubbing circles in my back.

I nodded.

"I'm fine. I just feel bad for Dani. And Harry. I've never seen him that upset before. He looked so.. broken" I told him.

"I know. But he will calm down you know. Niall's one of his best friends. And Danielle's his sister. He'll forgive them. We all know he's a good guy Rach, he'll be back" he said softly.

I knew he was right, but I couldn't help but worry either. Me, Harry and Dani fought all the time, we were siblings, who didn't? But Harry had never gotten that mad. And the worst part was how disappointed he looked.

"C'mon Rach, there's nothing you can do right now. Stop worrying" Louis whispered.

He sighed when I didn't respond.

"Okay that's it! We're gonna go have lunch on the beach, get up!" Louis exclaimed suddenly, standing up.

"What?"

"We can have a picnic! It'll take your mind off things with Harry" he told me.

He sent me upstairs to get dressed while he set up the picnic. Even though I was still worried about Harry and Dani, I couldn't help but feel excited at the fact that I was having a picnic with Louis.

As I walked past Niall and Harry's room and heard Niall and Dani.. It really was a good thing that Harry was gone.

I got washed and got dressed into this.

I brushed through my hair and let it fall down past my shoulders and down my back in its usual messy-look.

When I got back downstairs I found Louis in the kitchen, a basket on the counter.

"Wow, you weren't kidding about the picnic" I grinned widely when he noticed me.

"Rach, I never kid about food" he replied, pulling a serious face.

I couldn't help but laugh at that.

We went down to the beach and walked along it for at least 10 minutes before we found the perfect spot to have a picnic.

Louis had brought a random, plain blue blanket big enough for both of us to sit on without the sand getting on us.

"Wow Lou, you put a lot of food in here for lunch" I giggled, as I looked through the basket.

"Well I wasn't really sure what you wanted" he shrugged back.

I smiled slightly.

I ended up having a cheese sandwich, a bag of crisps, an apple and I started nibbling on some chocolate he had put in there too.

"Hungry?" Louis teased as I finished off the bar of chocolate.

I nodded.

"I eat when I'm worried" I told him honestly.

"Well stop worrying. I promise Rach, this is all gonna work itself out. Harry will accept it. And you'll get to be an aunt" Louis whispered, moving closer so he could wrap an arm around me.

"I hadn't really thought of that" I said thoughtfully.

I had just worried about how Harry would react. I didn't even think about what would happen when the baby was born. I was going to be an aunt. I couldn't help but smile at the thought.

"See, I knew I could cheer you up" he grinned when he noticed my smile.

It wasn't surprising, Louis always managed to make me smile. That was one of the things I liked most about him.

His loud sigh pulled me out of my train of thought.

"Rachel?" he asked.

"Yes?"

"What exactly are we?" he asked softly.

Shit.

This question I was not prepared for. I hesitated before answering.

"We're friends Lou" I replied.

"Just friends?"

Again, I hesitated before answering. I was kidding myself saying Louis was just a friend. He really was one of the most important people to me. Other than Dani and Harry of course, I was probably closest to him.

He was the person I rang in the middle of the night when I just needed someone to talk to. And there was no denying the fact that there was some chemistry between us. We were always flirting and teasing each other.

But after seeing how bad Harry reacted to Dani and Niall's announcement, I don't think it could work with Louis. I couldn't hurt Harry anymore than he already was.

"I think that's all we can be" I whispered back.

He seemed to understand what I meant, because all he said back was "Harry."

"I'm so sorry" I told him, softly.

And I was. Really sorry. But it really couldn't be helped. Harry really didn't need another thing to worry about.

"It's okay Rach. I understand" he whispered.

I sighed loudly.

Sometimes life sucked.
