The Water's Sweet but Blood is Thicker

Abby POV
I fell back on the couch propping my feet up on the armrest.
“Did we really have to walk the whole way down Alex.”
“No but it sure was funny.” Alex replied laughing.
“I stuck my tongue out at him and Cassidy giggled.
“You two argue like you’re the siblings.”
I turn to Cassidy.
“You’d be complaining too if you were taken up a large mountain and had to walk all the way down in 90 degree heat.”
“Um Abby I did.”
“No you didn’t you rode on Alex’s back half the way down.”
Cassidy crosses her arms and huffs.
“Fine but you do realize were walking to dinner right.”
I groan and sink into the couch.
We head out to an early dinner on the town before heading back to the hotel. Looking up I see the sky just starting to turn colors.
Heading back into the room Cassidy excuses herself and goes into the bedroom that I am sharing with her. Leaving Alex and I alone.
“Abby I think we need to talk.”
I look at him confused.
“Abby when we met in Seville it was amazing. You were sweet and funny and kind and……”
“Shhhh….” I say putting my finger over his lips and going to replace it with my lips.
Alex cupped my face and made me look at him. I could see the hurt in his eyes.
“Please don’t your just making this harder. Abby I’m afraid that through Seville and the funny texting conversations I fell for you and I fell hard. I was going to ask you to be my girlfriend the other night but something stopped me. Watching you around your friends I saw something different. I saw the way you laughed and joked and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. Abby you sparkled and glowed and lit up the whole room you looked beautiful and you looked happy.”
I go to kiss him again but Alex puts his two fingers on my lips.
“Abby I can’t do this.”
I look at him hurt.
“Yes your kiss does things for me. It sets off fireworks and butterflies and everything but I just can’t be in a relationship with a girl when she’s in love with someone else.”
“But I’m not.”
Alex smiles sadly.
“You know how we talked about Rachel and Louis and how they just won’t admit their feelings? You’re in denial to Abby.”
“But….”
“Shhhhh no buts. I see the way you look at him and the way he looks at you its meant to be?”

“But what about you?”
“I’ll mend and move on I guess. Love is a tricky thing isn’t it.”
I leaned in and gently kissed Alex on the lips. Pulling back I looked at him.
“Are you sure?”
Alex nodded his head. Seeing the sky turning brilliant colors I walk to the balcony.
“Abby.”
I turn and look at him.
“Hmmmm…..”
“Why do you always watch the sunset?”
I smile dreamily and walk onto the balcony and lean against the rail. I watch as the sun dips below the horizon. Disappointed I turn back. Will I ever see the green flash?

Liam POV
I sat at the table of the restaurant while everyone was chatting animatedly. I wish Abby were here. Her mood earlier had me confused. I wish I hadn’t gotten so drunk last night I probably acted like a fool. Taking a pause in his conversation Niall turns to me.
“You okay Li?”
I smiled a tight lipped smile at him.
“Yeah fine.”
The more people talked the more I felt myself slipping away. I finally stood up from the table.
“Ummmm…… I need some air.”
I walked along the boardwalk in front of the restaurant until I got to an empty peer. Walking to the end I dangle my legs over the side. The sky is turning brilliant colors of red, orange and pink in front of me set the ocean ablaze with color. It is reassuring to think that miles away Abby is watching a similar sight. Just as the sun passes over the horizon the sky flashes green.

sorry its short but I just needed to slip it in there :) And my dad actually did the walking thing to me there :P I wasn't in heels though thank goodness but I still almost died (not really just felt like it)
