We Can't

Hush, mum might hear you

I squinted from the light seeping through our curtains. Once my eyes got used to the light I stretched, letting my body squirm in every which way. I sat up after doing so to discover everyone, even Destiney who sleep longer than I, up. I decided a shower would do me well, after a night like last night I needed to think through what happened. I threw the covers off of me and trudged into the bathroom, shutting and locking the door behind me. I stripped down and started up the shower. Before I got in, I looked at my back. There was tattooed black wings that took up my whole back, but if you look close enough you can see lines off my shoulder bones. Those are where me wings come from. I thought crossed my mind.... what if? What if I wasn't an angel? Would life be the same? What if instead of wings I grew a mermaid tail? It would be prettier than my pitch black wings. I shook off the thoughts and stepped into the calming shower. I started to think again, what am I going to do about Louis? I'm not even a Louis girl. I'm a princess. What if mum finds out? I have to tell Anna not to mention Josh to her, she'll go mad. I sat thinking until the water ran cold. The moment I got out the house shook, and booming voice saying '"You got what?" came from down stairs. Too late on the whole Anna thing, I'm guessing.

I stepped into the kitchen slowly after getting ready for the day (http://www.polyvore.com/we_cant/set?id=112389142). Mum shot a look right at me. "Delete it"
"What?"
"You know what I am talking about! Delete it, or I take your phone" I nodded and took out my phone. I searched through the text and deleted our conversation, then went to my contacts and scrolled until I found 'Louis' and deleted it too. He still has my number, so I don't see why this is doing anything. "Good, now girls go get ready, we have to go shopping for school supplies today." We are all going to college, except Anna, she's a senior in highschool. We are supposed to be as normal as possible, not stick out in a crowd, so we go to school and hope no one get's Anna wet, pisses Jamie, Kiera, Adelaide, Destiny, or me off. Everyone nodded and led off upstairs.

We sat in the kitchen waiting for mum to get her keys. We had taken and hour and a half to get ready in all.

"Let's go" She said, jingling her keys with every step she took. It was a race to see who got shottie, mostly a race between Destiny and Adelaide because they have super speed. And I'm stuck with mind control, and things of that sort. Unfair. At least I don't have the powers others do, although Jamie's invisibility would be nice and Anna's breath holding would have been in swimming class with school, and the strength of Kiera is amazing.

"Aurora, Adelaide we don't need to take forever, it's just a binder" Jamie whined, "And Destiny the durability wouldn't matter if you could just take care of your stuff" I rolled my eyes, and looked her 'Jamie shut up' I thought hard enough to make her do so. Mum walked into the isle Adelaide and I were in.
"No powers on Reds unless under threat" She pointed a finger at me. I sighed dramatically.
"Fffiinnee" I dragged out. I grabbed all the binders I needed. "You got everything Ads?" I turned to her, he face was happy, and shocked. I turned around to be met with someone much taller than I, Louis.
"Powers?" He asked.
"Hush, mum might hear you. And no. Powers don't exist." I grabbed his wrist. "Mum, I'm going to look at cameras for photography class" I called to her before pulling Louis away to the cameras where we could talk safely.
