101 Reasons To Hate Butterflies
Chapter 8
Sophie's POV:
Friday came along sooner then expected.
It was about 3:30pm when I got home from school.
Anna took Kaelee and I home, so of course there were some fun pit-stops before I arrived home.
After that, I immediately got ready for the concert. We should be leaving soon if we wanted to make it in time, since to drive was a little ways away.
We had almost made it to the arena when it dawned on me that I actually didn't even know who this concert was for.
"Dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Who exactly is performing?"
"One Direction."
I didn't believe him at first.
"Wait, are you serious?"
He glanced a me when we approached the stop light.
"Yeah, why? I figured you wouldn't mind."
"You should've told me!"
"Why? Do you not like them?"
"DAD!"
"Um, huh?!"
"No, no no this isn't good; I should've put on something actually appealing! I mean look: I just have a t-shirt and some jeans! And wedges...but still!!" I explained. "I mean, don't get me wrong, this should be so much fun and oh my god thank you for taking me!"
"Well what can I say, I needed my assistant!" He smiled at me.
I smiled back, nervous and excited.
When we got out of the car and walked up to the gate, there were what seemed like an endless flow of girls; all ages.
It seemed so overwhelming.
My dad got up to the gate and asked the security for someone of by the name of "Mike".
They immediately shuffled around and two of them escorted my father and I behind the closed gate, and down into the elevator.
The ride down was awkwardly funny. Everyone in the little space was tall, 'cept me.
Especially the two guards.
When the elevator doors opened again, the view was a white wall. I got out first and looked to the right, examining the chairs against the walls and the door handles that stuck out like sporadic studs. My dad took my hand and we rushed to the left. I only had a few seconds to take the whole view in before we were suddenly walking down a mix of new hallways.
My dad once told me that his job had one main purpose:
You hurry up to wait.
And honestly, I never understood more until I was shoved down random hallways backstage, just to end up waiting for a special person or certain cue.
"Do you have your phone on you?"
"Yeah, why?" I replied.
"I have a feeling Mike's gonna take a while. You can look around if you'd like."
"Alright, call me If you need me. And be specific as to where you end up. All the hallways look similar." I said before walking off.
I didn't know where I was heading, but I knew I wanted to go.
The arena was humongous. I was already lost before I even started walking away.
Eventually, I wandered through enough hallways and ended up seeing the shoe of someone turning down on to a different path.
I sped my pace up and followed what I thought was the path of the boy.
When I turned the corner, I grabbed it to stop myself and got caught up in my own speed.
I halted and sprang back,
When I retained my breath and focused my eyes, I saw the back of a blonde haired guy, probably a little older then me.
To be quite honest with you, I didn't really know much about One Direction.
All I knew was that there were fve of 'em, and they were all extremely attractive.
The only problem was, I actually come across a lot of extremely attractive guys.
I mean, I knew there hits and singles and whatnot, but I just didn't have much time to listen to them, that's all.
I could tell by the look of that boy's body, he was built.
If only he could just turn arounnnnndd! I moaned to myself.
He was in the process of turning around when I saw the glimpse of his blue eyes. His strong hand grabbed the side of the wall, pulling himself back so his head stuck out from the corner.
His face was in an expression of pure surprise. When his face settled, a subtle smile crossed his face.
I blushed so hard I could feel it I my bones.
I silently fangirled to myself.
Was this one of the five?
Or one of five billion?
I put it aside and just kept blushing.
Turning back and walking back to the hall that I ran from in the first place.
I kept wandering away but my mind kept wandering back to blondie.
His eyes were so beautifully blue.
I pivoted the corner in a dreamy mind set.
I tried not to think abou-
"Oh, I'm sorry-"
"It's alright,uh, really, it's my fault, I-I, uhh...wasn't looking," I muttered.
"I wasn't payin, um, I wasn't looking-" I continued. Why? Reasons beyond me.
He stopped and smiled.
He started to say another word when I put my hand over his mouth instinctively.
Utterly shocked at what I just did, I pulled my hand back a little. I tried to give an "I'm sorry expression" as I put it back over his mouth, but honestly I'm not sure if he got it.
My father was calling me.
I looked both ways before spotting a door with a sign labeled "massage room" and pushed him through the door.
I just shoved a billionaire into a massage room.
Was that an innuendo?
Is this even legal?
Wait what the hell there's a massage room?!
My thoughts were interrupted by an extremely confused Korean lady with oil all over her hands.
We both turned to face her and she spoke Korean at us.
Angry Korean.
I tried to explain but it just ended with more confusion and some laughter. I heard rushed footsteps pass the door, and another call for my name. Sooner rather then later, the voice faded and we were shooed out of the massage room anyway.
We stood in the hallway.
"So I'm guessing you are Sophie?"
I smiled.
"And you are?"
He squinted his eyes and title his head.
"Well, I'm not Sophie."
Then it hit me.
"Niall...?"
He smiled.
I heard my dad's voice progressively get louder again.
I stuttered words with no meaning and I awkwardly backed away.
"Shit! I mean, ah, shit shit shit. Um, I gotta go!"
Harry's POV:
I'm going to be honest with you and tell you that I was pretty tired by the end of the meet and greet. It had already been a long Friday and it had just begun.
"I mean, don't get me wrong I really do love them, it's just we've been at this for hours, I got no sleep last night, and I've really got to use the little boy's room."
"It'll be over before you know it, there's only one line left then you can go." Louis said. "Look how happy they are. Can't you put your pissing problem aside for these screaming fans?"
Louis chuckled while I moaned.
"What about that fit one in the back?" Zayn reassured.
He looked down at my crotch, "It looks like you can wait, mate." He said with a sky smirk on his face.
I looked down and blushed a little before realizing no one would notice.
I greeted the overly-excited ones. Something about their happiness made me happier.
Though the screaming didn't help my headache.
The last ones started approaching, and the word got passed around through the group. There was a few fit ones in every line, but one of them stuck out to me this time.
The girl I had my eyes on approached the table.
"Hello."
"H-Hi."
"What's your name, love?"
"Emily."
I started talking to her, and before she went down the line to Louis, I told her to write down her Twitter name. She was attractive, and I was excited to hopefully be in contact with her. Her eyes were gorgeous.
I watched as she wrote, then looked up and winked at Zayn, the only one of my lads who noticed.
She was the last in the line, so I got up and started walking back to my dressing room.
I was looking at the little piece of paper while walking; paying no attention, I felt something walk into me.
"Oh my, 'm terribly sorry babe."
"Unless that paper is a map, I suggest you put it down."
She winked, giggled, then turned around smiling shyly.
Walking away.
The sassy comeback made me attentive and snap out if it.
But I was smiling.
Did that just....happen?
"Hey, wait a minute!"
She stopped, sighed, and turned her head to the left slowly.
"Yes?"
"What's your name?"
"Whatsittoya."
"I've seen that episode."
Her smirk grew and she turned all the way around.
"They call me Jane."
Jane.
"Well, Jane, are you going to be at the concert?"
She started approaching me.
"I was thinking about it...but then I figured I shouldn't. But now, maybe I will because you're going to play a game up on stage with me."
"Oh am I?" My smirk was showing. "And where did you get that from?"
She was at my chest now.
Kissing distance.
"Your eyes say infinitely more than you could ever hope."
I swallowed.
"It's a little game called iSpy. You'll go first."
My breathing pattern became illegibly unstable.
"What am I looking for?" I whispered. Feeling her breath close and moist on my neck.
She whispered in my ear.
"Me."
Within seconds she had moved around me and started walking away behind me as I stood there in utter disbelief as to what just happen.
Damn.
