Chapter 3 (part 1)

“Previously at lunch you asked me who I really like,” Freddie started saying as he and Franchessca sat down on a nearby bench.
Franchessca smilingly asked him, “Do you already have your pick?”
“No,” Freddie answered sadly. “I’m still confused!”
Franchessca gave a sigh. She suggested, “Well, why don’t you think about the things you like and hate about both of them?”
“Sam hasn’t done anything good to me except for apologizing about her previous pranks when we first kissed,” Freddie admitted.
“Think harder,” Franchessca requested.
Inside Apartment 8C which is Carly’s apartment, Malaska and Carly are warming up for their rehearsal and waiting for Freddie.
Excited, Malaska asked Carly, “How will we do the show?”
“Wait here, I’ll phone Freddie,” Carly said instead of answering.
A few minutes passed by and Carly had a distraught look on her face.
“So?” Malaska asked after Carly put down her phone.
“He’s not picking up!” Carly said, “He’s usually on time when we do iCarly.”
“Well maybe he picked Sam and requested that he won’t talk to you,” Malaska said. “So maybe you should go and apologize to Sam so everyone’s happy!”
“I don’t think that would be such a good idea,” Carly said in a sad tone, “At least for now.”
“Maybe Mrs. Benson knows where Freddie is,” Malaska suggested. “Let’s go over there and ask her.”
“Okay,” Carly said immediately. “So does that mean we won’t do iCarly tonight?”
“I guess not,” Malaska answered. “But if you don’t want to talk to Freddie tonight, let’s continue the show without a technical producer.”
“I want to talk to him,” Carly decided and she added, “Besides, I don’t know a single thing about broadcasting live on the internet. As soon as they reached the apartment across Carly’s, she called out, “Mrs. Benson?”
Mrs. Benson, a nice-looking lady who has red hair greeted, “Oh hello Carly, who’s your friend? Have you seen Freddie?”
“No, that’s what we’re going to ask you,” Malaska said coyly. “I’m Malaska Maslow.” She reached out a hand for Mrs. Benson to shake.
“He hasn’t arrived from school yet,” Mrs. Benson said after shaking hands with the girl.
“Oh,” Carly said thoughtfully. “Well, I guess that’s okay. See you tomorrow!”
“Bye,” Malaska said. Both girls returned to Carly’s apartment feeling down in the dumps.
“How will I talk to Freddie when he’s not picking up his phone or he isn’t home yet?” Carly asked herself. “We should have started iCarly by now.”
“iCarly matters more to you than Freddie?” Malaska asked in surprise. “Shame to you,” she said.
“No, Freddie is more important,” Carly said softly with embarrassment.
Back in the park, Sam fully gained Patricia and Magalona’s trust and is sharing everything with them as if they knew each other for a fairly long time.
“So you’re saying we should be friends again?” Sam asked Patricia.
“Sure,” Patricia answered.
“Maybe you should reflect all the good times you’ve had,” Magalona recommended hoping it would encourage Sam to befriend her former best friend once again. “After all, would you let some guy get in your friendship?”
“Well, there was a time when a new guy in school visited and he got hurt because of us,” Sam narrated, “As in literally hurt.”
Patricia asked in surprise, “Really?”
“Would you mind telling us the story?” Magalona requested in a way that Sam would not think of her as intimidating.
“His name is Shane,” Sam told them. “Here he is,” she said while pulling out a picture of a handsome brunette from her bag.
Both girls took a short peek at Shane that they didn’t fully recognize the boy in the picture. Neither minded who Shane was because their first priority is to have Sam and Carly be friends again.
“I really do know you’ll be friends again,” Patricia encouraged Sam.
