Flower Lily Club

Chapter 1 (part 3 )

“I hope he says yes,” Malaska said.
“Sure hope so,” Magalona agreed. “I’ve never been on a vacation before which is less than fourteen days and the one we will have will only be seven days!”
“Then I’ll go now and try to convince Mr. Maloy,” Ma’am Malona said then went to the club president’s office.
“Hey, the girls all agreed to extend their vacation for a week” Ma’am Malona said as she entered Mr. Maloy’s room.
The well-postured and black-haired man repeated in utter shock, “Two whole weeks of vacation? That’s just wasting time!” In a tone of resignation, he announced, “Tell them I said no.”
Without the two knowing, the four girls are there eavesdropping. When they heard the last part they barged in the room and protested.
“We need a vacation,” Magalona started angrily.
“But you’re having your one week vacation at the Palm Woods,” Mr. Maloy countered.
“We need a vacation that lightens up our minds and helps us relax,” Franchessca complained. “Not spend all seven days looking for our partners plus the Saturday dance and us packing our stuff!”
“Well don’t look for your partners then and just sit back there and have your leisure time,” Mr. Maloy continued arguing.
With a smile, Ma’am Malona said, “Franchessca has a point.”
“I don’t care,” Mr. Maloy said. At this point, the girls could detect faint smiles in his lips but he continually hides it. “It’s just like a waste of time when I extend their vacation for another week. People need help!”
“Yeah they need help,” Malaska said firmly. “We’re people too and we need help. We need you to give us the time of our lives!”
“I’m giving you yours and I know you’re people,” Mr. Maloy said.
“No,” Patricia said. “You just care about this organization and not its members! Looking for partners at the same time relaxing for seven days is just another mission! I thought you’re giving us a vacation?”
Finally, Mr. Maloy got convinced. “I see how upset you are for having another mission instead of a vacation.”
“What are you saying?” Magalona asked, confused.
“I’m saying that you can just ask for an extended vacation politely and not barge in and yell at me,” Mr. Maloy elaborated.
“And what we mean about that is,” Ma’am Malona explained. “You proved you have reasonable wits and you are responsible.”
“I hear a commotion here what’s this all about?” Mr. Malone asked innocently as he, a tall man with brunette hair, walked in.
Magalona asked him, “Aren’t you part of this charade?”
“Oh, you knew!” Mr. Malone exclaimed.
“Yes,” Franchessca declared indignantly. “How could you?”
“You see, you want a vacation do you?” Mr. Malone explained, “We planned to test you on how smart and clever you are because you’ll be facing people with many questions.”
“And you need to defend yourselves,” Mr. Maloy added.
“Well we surely did over defend ourselves,” Malaska said with some laughs followed by apologies.
“It’s okay,” Mr. Maloy said. “It was our faults anyway.”
“I have a question,” Patricia spoke up. “How will we go to the Palm Woods if we don’t have any celebrity jobs?”
“You can introduce yourselves to a record producer named Gustavo Rocque and have him sign you up,” Mr. Malone said.
“Where does he produce?” Magalona asked.
“Near the Palm Woods at Rocque Records,” Patricia answered because she knew that her father is friends with Gustavo but they are not very close friends.
Malaska smiled and squealed excitedly. She asked them, “So are we ready?”
“You bet we are,” Magalona answered.
The four girls packed their stuff just enough for two whole months away from home as soon as they exited Mr. Maloy’s office.
After chatting with each other about their dream vacation in Hollywood, momentarily they all went outside led by their parents. Mr. Maloy’s chauffeur appeared at the façade of the headquarters.
“I can’t believe we’ll be going out of town,” Magalona said excitedly. “And we are alone without you, our dear parents.”
“Okay,” Ma’am Malona said. “Be careful there girls! As Magalona said, we are not there to supervise you.”
“Hey don’t harm yourselves and get into unnecessary fights,” Ma’am Art warned them.
“No promises,” Patricia whispered to the other girls with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
