Loose Change (Harry Styles) [BOOK 2]

Epilogue

*Few Months Later*

*Harry's POV*

"Today's finally the day." I whisper, adjusting the black tie of my suit.

She gives me a soft smile and just nods before chuckling a little, her beautiful sparkling light brown eyes gaping at me.

Her white dress just symbolizes her genuity and I don't think I've ever seen anything like it or just like her before in my life.

"Yeah. It is." She responds, looking obviously nervous.

I quickly grab her hand, rubbing small circles on the roof in a comforting and reassuring way.

"Everything's going to be okay. After today, everything changes." I state, receiving a nod and an agreeing smile from her.

Her lips are bright red, as well as her nails and her cheeks and she looks utterly magnificent.

"Have I told you that I love you." I mutter.

She giggles, her tense mood now easing up a bit and she stares at the silver band around my finger and then at the one still tied around her neck.

She never takes it off and I the same.

"Yeah. But have I ever told you?" She questions, causing me to kiss the tip of her nose quickly.

She giggles again and I smile widely.

"I love you."

"I love you."

We both turn our gazes towards the double doors leading to the inside of the church, a short pudgy woman in a yellow ankle length summer dress notifying us that it's time.

I look down at Jane to see how she's already looking at me, and her hand goes from mine to my elbow, tangling our arms together. The red roses in her right hand now join with the left and we both take a deep breath before walking down the long dark red rugged aisle.

The room is filled with many people, Jane and I being the youngest besides a few children and I feel very comforted and just natural being here in this church, with her in that knee length white lace dress and her standing right beside me as we just walk.

Everyone is silent, the only sound audible being the wedding march being played by a scrawny brunette hair colored man on a black grand piano in the corner of my eye.

"You know-" She begins saying in a low tone, only wanting me to hear.

Her head turns to me slightly, not wanting to make it obvious.

"I thought the day I would walk down this aisle would be with my dad along side with me, him tearing up and telling me how he wanted me to just stay his little girl forever."

I feel my chest get stricken a little at her words, since even though we weren't that close, I'll never forget Ted Anderson. But as I'm about to open my mouth, she just smiles a little and interrupts me.

"But having you instead isn't bad either. Not bad at all actually." She adds and if we weren't in a church right now in front of God and hundreds of eyes, I would just grab her waist and kiss my girlfriend as hard as I could.

But instead I just smile foolishly and nod.

We're the first one's walking in, about three more pairs following behind us and when we finally approach the priest and Jane's mother's fiance, we go to our designated places and just stare at eachother.

She was so nervous on the way here and has actually been antsy for weeks now over this day. Her mother is finally getting married again and she's going to witness all of it. She contacted her mother after a few weeks of our reunion, finding her the same way her mother attempted in doing with her. She hired a private investigator and eventhough I was unable to be along side with her due to my job, she called me immediately and notified me of everything.

She has a little sister and a little brother now. They're twins and she explained to me how they reminded her of tiny versions of Rose. Even though she only mentioned Claire's fiance a few times, obviously not wanting to give in to the man too quickly, I can tell that she thought of him as worthy of her time. He was nice and well mannered she said, and I know she will never call him dad or even think of him in that way, but as long as she knows that there is now an extra human being that cares for her, that's all that really matters.

Her mom cried, even hearing inhumane noises leave her lips as she embraced my Jane in a tight hug she told me as well. She didn't hug her back immediately, since in the back of her mind she still held this spec of dislike for the women, but she knew that it was only based on lies and so she bit her lip and wrapped her arms back.

Her mother knows about her job and artwork and told her just how proud she is and if I do recall has purchased some of Jane's artwork anonymously over the past months.
Their relationship may not be how it was when she was a child and may never be, but just knowing that it exists, whatever they have, that it is better than emptiness and complete overindulged solitude.

Months have passed and after getting cordially invited to her mother's wedding, taking the part as a bridesmaid, she invited me to come along and I canceled all of my plans, wanting to be there and meet her mother properly since I had not made a good first impression the first time. And first impressions are important, at least to me anyway.

Claire actually wanted her daughter to be the maid of honor, but Jane declined since she felt that she has not really been in her life long enough to earn that position and to give it to someone who truly knows her better than anyone. Claire fought back or tried until finally giving in and handing the position instead to her best friend named Ashley.

I originally wasn't going to be a groomsman, but Cole, Claire's fiance, wouldn't let me say no. He told me that he's heard lots about me from Jane and that he already feels as if he's known me for years when I know that the real reason is that he probably want's to get on his future step daughter's good side. I accepted of course..... for her.

And now after weeks and weeks of all of this waiting she had to go through, she's here and I'm here and we're both just here together.

My eyes are locked on hers as the last bridesmaid goes to her position, and her mother along with the tiny flower girl and ring boy begin finally strolling themselves down. Her mother is smiling brightly, glowing even and when her mother's eyes lock with hers, Jane's face goes from nervous to calm in less than a second.
...

"Babe, is everything alright?" I question as we continue sitting in our reserved seats in the reception area, all eyes on Claire dancing with some elderly man, her father I'm guessing.
"She's beautiful huh." She says, ignoring my question or just pushing it aside, either one I really don't mind since I know how hard this is for her.

I look back over at her mother.

"Yeah, she does."

She just mumbles in agreement and I do the same, grabbing her hand under the table and squeezing it. She doesn't grab back, but just allows me to hold her hand and I don't pull away nor want to.

"Do you think she forgives me?" She asks, causing me to turn my head towards her again. Her eyes are still locked on Claire and I don't know if she's speaking her mind again or actually talking to me.

"Forgive you? For what?" I answer, scooting my chair closer to her.

She shrugs.

"For snapping at her on Christmas."

I sigh.

"It wasn't your fault. You didn't know. Anyone would've reacted the same."

She shrugs again, some of her red hair now moving to the back of her shoulders.

"I also killed her husband though. Do you think sh-"

I quickly point her chin over at me and I lean my face closer to hers.

"That was none of your fault and you know that. Some deranged man just was overly emotional and used that gun to his advantage. Alright?" I say in a hushed tone, noticing her eyes finally flicker to me. They're glossy.

She nods a little.

"Yeah. Yeah. I know. Sorry I jus- Sorry."

I shake my head before placing my lips on the top of hers.

"Stop apologizing and go dance with your mother already."

She gives me a weak smile.

"What if she rejects me?"

"She won't."

"But what i-"

"Jane. No. She won't, okay?"

I finally feel her squeeze my hand back and I smile softly, trying to boost her confidence the way she always does for me before a concert or performance.

"Maybe I don't want to dance with her. I want to dance with you."

I snort.

"I fucking suck at dancing and anyway this is not my day, it's hers and I think you dancing with her will make this even more of a joy."

She mirrors my expression, smiling back.

"You really think so?"

I nod.

"I know so."

And after both of us nodding to each other again a few more times, she finally let's go of my hold and walks up to the old man and her mum, poking him and intervening.
Her mum's smile becomes as soft as satin and she just nods quickly before taking her daughter into her arms and swaying back and forth.

Everyone just begin clapping at the sight, and I feel my hands go along with the crowd, smiling at her and her bravery. That's my girl.
...

"Jane! Jane!" A tiny voice says, me and Jane's bodies both facing the little miniature person now in front of us.

She has red hair just like Jane and is wearing a white dress with a pink sash tied around the middle, matching her pink flats.

"Lola!" Jane remarks excitedly, handing me the glass of champagne in her hand quickly so she can wrap her arms around the small little girl and lift her up in her arms.

The little girl giggles before wrapping her arms right back around her

"I've missed you." Jane remarks as they pull away, Lola still in her arms.

The five year old smiles.

"I missed you too sissy."

Jane's lips separate at her words, quickly licking them and recovering. Yeah Jane. You have a sister and a brother. Both that love you.

Jane and her have a quick little conversation about each other's dresses before Lola's eyes land on me.

"Who's the man with the funny face?" The little girl whispers quite loudly in Jane's ear.
Jane laughs a little before turning her body towards me.

"He's my boyfriend."

I smile at Jane and she smiles back.

God, I fucking love her. But why does every kid think I have a funny face?

"Boyfriend?" The little girl asks innocently, obviously confused.

Jane nods.

"Yeah boyfriend. Someone I love very very much."

I feel my cheeks heat up a little and I feel like a major pussy right now, but fuck it. I'm fucking whipped and I'm not afraid to admit it.

"So does that mean you're my boyfriend?" The little girl asks Jane and I bite my lip, trying to hold in my laughter.

Jane sticks her tongue at me and I do the same before she turns back.

"Well, no. I'm your sister. It's a different kind of love."

Lola's eyebrows scrunch up together in concentration, obviously trying to get herself to
understand everything and she just shakes her head.

"Whattt?" Lola says, smiling and laughing at her own confusion.

Jane just scrunches up her nose before kissing her sister's cheek.

"You'll understand when you're older. Now why don't we do something fun?"

The little girl nods her head real quick and she claps her hands in a giddy manner.

"What are we going to play!? Do you have an ipad?"

I feel my own eyes narrow at the girl's words and Jane and I both just stare at one another, not knowing what to do.

When I was Lola's age, fun to me was playing hide and go seek or pick up sticks with Gemma. But they aren't kids of the 90's and have more technology, so I guess fun to them is different.

Jane looks at me, not really knowing what to do and I feel a smile creep on my face.

"Do you want to climb a tree?" I ask.

Jane smiles widely and the little girl tilts her head sideways in a cute way.

"Climb a tree?"

I nod.

"Yeah. We can be like squirrels and you can even see your sister fall on her face."
Jane gasps.

"I'm right here you know!"

I laugh a little as the girl's face brightens with excitement.

"I want to climb a tree! Jane can we climb a tree! Can we? Please!?"

I smile feeling victorious for coming up with such a good idea and Jane bites her lip.

"I don't want you to ruin your dre-"

"PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!" Her sister interrupts quite loudly, receiving glances from the surrounding crowd and I laugh.

"Okay okay. If your mommy says yes, then we will." Jane retorts, the little girl pouting.

"Isn't she your mommy too? Why are you saying my mommy?"

Jane's mood falters a little and before I could interject, she gives the girl a kiss on her soft cheek followed by a smile.

"You're right. I meant our mommy."

...

"Come on Jane! Come up here!" The little kids and I say almost in unison. My suit jacket is off and now hanging on one of the chairs below and for about half an hour now, me along with the other children here have been climbing this gigantic tree that's covered in wedding decorations, all eyes and smiles focused on us.

We all climbed up, even little Lola, but Jane is still on the ground and is afraid, shaking even.

"I can't do it, I-"

Everyone cups their mouths with their tiny hands and they all boo, Jane biting her lip.

"Babe, you can do it. Come on!" I holler loudly, her eyes going to me followed by her mouthing 'I hate you.'

My head tilts back in laughter and after motioning her with my hand one last time, she finally takes a deep breath and places one foot on one of the first low branches, her arms wrapped around the bark.

She's hugging it again, like the day in the park. The day we began being 'we'.

I feel my chest kind of stop rising for a bit at the very idea of how long it has been. It's been more than a year. I have known this human for more than a year now.

"I'm scared Harry." She almost whispers genuinely, wanting me to just go down and hug her for dear life, but I restrict myself. She has to do this.

"I'm right here." I say.

"I won't let anything happen to you." I add.

Her eyes close tight for a while, the screaming of the children echoing through the place. Even Claire is watching and rooting for her in her ankle length gown.

"What if I fall." She croaks.

I shake my head.

"You won't"

"But what i-"

"You can climb it baby. I know you can. I believe in you."

And after that, she finally opens her eyes and begins taking her time climbing up, her fingernails digging into the side of the bark and her dress beginning to be covered in soil. She still looks beautiful.

"Go Jane. Go Jane." Everyone is chanting, her tongue beginning to stick out a little as she eyes everything in concentration.

"Go Jane. Go Jane."

When she finally reaches the last branch, I quickly grab her hand and pull her on my lap, the crowd going wild.

Her breathing is heavy and her forehead is sweating, she quickly wraps her arms around me and I do the same.

"I'm never doing that again. I hope you know that." She announces, and I chuckle, rubbing small circles on her back.

"I know you won't baby."

She will.

*EPILOGUE OF THE EPILOGUE. SURPRISE.*

*Years Later*

*Jane's POV*

"Life is like a box of chocolates." I quote along with my all time favorite movie, nuzzling my head into Harry's neck as we continue resting in our bed together. His arm is draped over me and I'm just savoring this moment as much as I can. I haven't seen him physically in months due to his tour and all the court sessions he's been having to go to for Zayn's girl.

He's tired, I can see with his his dark circles and paler skin, but I'm being selfish right now since the whole world always gets to have him except me.

"You never know what ya gonna get." He adds and we both chuckle.

I try reaching for the bowl of popcorn that's closer to him, but I can't reach and when he notices, he just laughs tiredly.

"You have tiny arms." He states as he hands me the bowl, me immediately grabbing a handful of popcorn and stuffing it in my mouth.

I just continue looking at the movie as I throw some food at his face.

"Do not."

He just pulls me closer to him before grabbing the kernels that are now in his long curly hair and throwing them back at me.

"Do too."

I gasp before throwing more at him.

"Hey!" He says, obviously trying to hold back his laughter.

"Just because my tattoo says I'm a lover not a fighter, doesn't mean it applies to you." I tease and he snorts before pulling me back to him, grabbing a hold of my wrist.
He traces over the ink and I feel myself slightly shiver.

"Oh really?" He whispers, his voice now deeper and filled with...lust.

I feel myself gulp and my cheeks redden before his thumb grazes over my skin and his lips go to my neck, leaving long and wet kisses along the side.

I shut my eyes closed as I feel his hand beginning to go under the sheets.
Well that escalated quickly.

"Harry." I mutter and before I can say any further, he places his lips upon my own and my mind goes into a state of euphoria.

As his hand begins to travel up my shirt, his cell phone begins to ring.

He ignores it the first time, both of us just continuing to be indulged with one another, but finally decides to answer when the fourth time comes around.

He groans and rolls his eyes before slumping his back against his pillow, pausing the movie even though we weren't really paying attention to it anymore anyway.

"What is it Lo-"

His eyes suddenly widen and his mouth drops, immediately sitting himself up straight in place.

"She what!?! How the fuck did she die I me-"

My own eyes widen and I place my hand on his shoulder in a comforting way since he's obviously tense.

'Who died?' I mouth, but he just places his index forward in my direction, motioning me to be quiet for just a moment and I do as command.

He nods and I hear about a million 'uhuhs' until he finally begins forming coherent sentences.

"I'll ask her. Fuck yes I'm up for it. Yeah. Okay... Bye and I'll call him later. Yeah. Okay. Talk to ya later Lou."

He finally hangs up, rubbing his face with his hands and taking a deep breath.

"Babe, what happened? Was that Louis?" I ask, my hand still on his shoulder.

He finally looks at me and he just nods.

"Yeah, it was."

I nod a little.

"What was he calling about?"

He blinks a few times, before grabbing my hand.

"He wanted to ask me to join them and actually you to join as well."

I raise an eyebrow.

"Join them?"

He nods.

"The guys."

I nod, still lost for words.

"But join? Join what?"

He takes a deep breath, his emerald eyes gaping into mine.

"The revolution."
