The New School
"Taylah!! Time to get up!" I heard my mum call.
I rolled over and went back to sleep.
"Taylah, you need to get up... It's your first day of highschool!!"
I look at my alarm clock. '5:30a.m.' ugh. Mum was making me wake up early to go to some stupid school that starts at 7:30am... I don't uderstad why I can't just go to the school around the corner. It opens at 8:30am and the lessons don't start 'till 9:00am... Plus, all my friends go there now...
"Muuuum, go away!!" I mumble-yell. "I'll get up when I want to!"
"Okay, okay. You can get up when you want to, and you can be late".
"Thanks, now get out of my room."
I went back to sleep, only to wake up again at 8:00a.m.
"Fuuuuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck." I whisper-yelled as I ran down the staircase, into the kitchen. "Shit, shit, shit, where's Mum?!?"
I find a note on the cooking bench.

morning beautiful. Get yourself some breakfast and pack your things. I had to run to work early so you have to walk.

Fuck Mum!!!
I ran as fast as I could back into my room to get some clothes on. Ripped black skinny jeans, crop-top, denim jacket and pink converses.
I wet my hair and put it in a bun. I ran out of my room and into the bathroom to brush my teeth and put my makeup on. I didn't know the rules of makeup at this school so I only wore foundation, concealer and mascara.
I grabbed my bag and stuffed it with textbooks, note-pads, pens, and anything else useful.
I ran out the door, grabbed my skateboard and rode as quickly as possible to my friend Kati's house. I went there to get a lift from Kati, because I didn't know the way to the school, and she did. Her brother Caleb just finished there.
After running in their front door, down the hall, into Kati's room and explaining my trauma, she drove me to school without hesitation.
Even though I got there 3hrs late...
