Pain
Friends
I sighed and walked into the hall. Half heart high had welcomed me in the normal way. Everyone ignored me. Except for my cousin and her friends, but all they did was tease me. Again.
There were a couple of new students. Whatever. As I walked upstairs to my dormitory to leave my bag, I felt someone's eyes on me. I turned around to see a boy. One of the new ones. He looked at me. Not through me like everyone else did, at me. I ignored hi and put my stuff away.
When I came out he was still there, but he walked up to me. 'Hi,' he greeted.
'Hello.'
'I'm Liam.'
'I'm Willow.'
'Thats a pretty name.' I stared at him. No one had ever said anything like that to me before.
'Th-Thanks.'
'I'm Lucy,' another new girl said to me brightly.
'This is Lucy, my friend,' Liam said.
'I'm Willow,' I repeated to Lucy.
'Cool.' We had nothing to talk about. 'So who do you share a room with?' Lucy asked me.
'Bitches,' I replied bitterly. she laughed uncomfortably.
'which bitches?'
'Those.' I pointed at the girls in my room, who were being immature and hiding my stuff.
'I share a room with you!'
'Thats... Nice.' The bell rang.
'what class do you have?' Lucy asked.
'History,' Liam said.
'Same.' I shrugged.
'Aw, I have math. See you later.' I waved as she ran off.
'Willow?' Liam broke the silence as we walked to class together.'
'hmm?'
'you seem like someone who's only had Pain for a friend.' I looked at him. What did he know?
'Pain hasn't really been a friend. More like company.'
'Good company?'
'Just company.'
'Pain hasn't helped you for the better.'
'No, I guess not.'
'Why do you let Pain in?'
'It's a long story. How do you know about that?'
'Ive had plenty of visits from Pain.'
'How? Why?'
'It's a long story.' He had either said that to return my comment or because we had arrived in class.
'So, it seems you've finally found friends of your own sorry kind,' my cousin snickered at the end of the day (lol at the end of the day xD). I stayed silent. 'One day they'll ditch you, though. You're not good at those things.'
'and they're just as sad as you are.' Her friend cut in. 'What do you talk about? How sorry you feel for each other?' They started laughing.
'Shut up.'
'Do you like Payne? He'll never like you back. You're not good enough for him or anyone else.' My cousin laughed.
'I don't like - '
'Aw, poor thing. Leave her to talk to her sad little buddies.' They left laughing.
I looked at a sleeping Lucy that night, than at the corner of the dormitory. The darkness seemed to talk to me. You are alone, it seemed to say. The girls are right. I tried to shake it out and sleep, but I couldn't find my place in the world of sleep until later. I didn't even fit in in my dreams.
