A Broken Chain

Megan's POV

I was walking to the bakery thinking of how it's been a year since I've seen any of my friends besides Johanna. While I was thinking I finally arrived to the bakery. I walked to the back and sat down waiting to open the bakery. I was reading a magazine and found something about Sophia and Justin Bieber. I smiled to myself thinking of what a great life she has now that she left. Midway through reading the section with Sophia my phone rang. I took my phone out of my back pocket and unlocked my IPhone to see an unknown number. I hesitantly answered it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Megan?" A girl voice that sounded like a familiar person asked.

"This is she." I said.

"It's Anna." The girl answered. That's when I started to feel the tears roll down my cheeks.

"Are you serious?" I asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

"So what do you need?" I asked.

"Umm… I just thought I should call you and tell you that I'm engaged." She said.

"Oh my gosh that's great!" I yelled through the phone.

"Yeah I know. I'll be sending invitations out soon." She told me.

"Ok. Goo talking to you again. But I have to open the shop." I said looking at the clock on the wall.

"Ok. Bye." She said.

"Bye." I replied.

I hung up and started to cry. It was so good to hear her voice again. I just hope I get to see her soon. I thought smiling to myself.
