Zoe’s P.O.V.
Finally! Lunch break! Is it sad that it’s the highlight of my day? Oh well anyway I decided that since Amy ditched me for her new boyfriend there wasn’t much point in leaving the café for lunch. Especially since I get a discount for being in staff. So I got Kacy to get my order for my while I chose the furthest most secluded spot in the whole café. It was a booth in the far back corner and I decided it would be perfect as I didn’t want to look like a loser on my own. Even of the café was empty.
I decided that because I had more time as less was wasted going from one sided of the shopping centre to find Amy, that I would take my time eating. I slowly drank my caramel mocha and decided I couldn’t resist but to scoff my blue berry muffin. They are the best kind around.
I still had 20 minute left and didn’t feel like eating any more food so I pulled out my phone. I logged onto twitter and got bored pretty quickly, I knew I technically shouldn’t as it would only bring back bad memories but I decided that they weren’t even that big anymore, were they? But the more I scrolled down the more I was disproven. It was One Direction this, One Direction that, fans reposting everything 10 times as per usual. But there was one that I couldn’t help but stop scrolling and read….
“ Niall Horan 10:27 am: Hey babe miss you heaps! Cannit wait 2 c ya again!! All my love xx”
I knew it was nothing out of the ordinary lovey dovey boys they were supposedly, but I couldn’t help but let it get to me. Naturally his Girlfriend Emily Kelly was tagged in it, no surprises there but that used to be me…
I couldn’t help but get a bit watery eyed at that, and I couldn’t get the memory of our first meeting out of my head… It was nothing special at first, but it ended up getting better… That’s what I thought anyway. But I am over him and will not let it get to me.
I push away any memories that threatened to reappear and decide to go on that instagram had to be safer, so opened up the app and saw a few pictures of friends having the time of their life overseas while I’m stuck at work. Then I come across some other pictures of the usual, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, 5SOS, One Direction, Miley Cyrus – especially after the new haircut and singles- and so on. But once again I found I couldn’t get away from them!
I decided that would be enough torture for today and put my phone away. I am now really bored and with 15 minutes to spare go up tort early and ask the manager if I can start early and leave early. Seeing as it would only be 15 minutes she agrees and I go back to my post and relieve Kacy of the cash register.
With that I realise I still need to clean the place up for the next shift before the manager sees the place! So I start wiping down the coffee machine when I hear the bell signalling the front door had opened.
I turn around and start to panic a little, this guy has sun glasses, a beanie, a hoodie, and a big muscular build. I looked around for a second and noticed I was the only one in here with him, which had me really worried. He saw me look around and he smirked.
But then he starts talking and surprises me. I get him his order and ask him to remove his hood because of policy. He ignores me and watches me make the coffee, which really freaked me out. I could feel his eyes burning holes into my skin and felt my face getting hotter and hotter.
I gave him the late and he walks out.
As soon as he walks out I hear what sounds like a scream. I see a girl outside lying in a heap on the ground and don’t want to leave the counter unmanned but decide this was an emergency. I rushed outside and see the guy I just served has just walked past and doesn’t even stop to help. I try to carry her inside but struggle, I am now panicking and get a sudden rush of adrenaline, and confidence. I yelled out for the guy I just served to come back and help me and immediately regret it...
