They Might Be Mental

“Room 6” I said and Liam put him in the room. I looked at Sam and sighed. I grabbed a chart and did the normal question routine. He was so drugged up that he just fell asleep. I walked out of the room and Liam went back to his desk. I went to my desk and paged Dylan.

“I gave no Idea what the hell that guy is on but he is stoned” I said and Sam laughed.

“I’m lucky Kenny is sleeping...” Sam said. Dylan came up and walked over to our desk.

“What’s up?” He asked.

“What is Cole on?” I asked.

“He is on anti-depressants, and bi polar meds…” Dylan said.

“Then why is he knocked out?” I asked.

“He asked for a sleeping pill…he hasn’t slept in four days” Dylan said and I nodded.

“Ohhhh…gotcha.” I said and he nodded.

“Yeah he should be better tomorrow? Maybe…I’ll evaluate him tomorrow morning.” Dylan said.

“Alright” I said.

“SO… I heard you got a hot date tonight” I said and Dylan smiled.

“You dumbass” Sam yelled and threw a piece of paper at me. I laughed and Dylan smirked at Sam.

“Oh Sam, I need to evaluate Kenny when he wakes up, so let me know”

“Alright” Sam said and Dylan walked away. The rest of the day seemed pretty calm. Everyone slept. Before my shift was over, I went into Harry’s room.

“I’m about to leave” I said and he pouted.

“You’re here tomorrow right?” He asked and I nodded.

“Yeah at like 5” I sighed.

“I’ll be asleep” He said and I nodded.

“Yeah, ya lucky bastard” I said and stood up from his bed.

“Night Harry” I smiled.

“Night Kelsei” I locked his door and went home.



All I could think about was Harry. I was lying in bed when my phone rang.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Hey it’s Zayn…listen, the case just had a huge set back…The pharmacy is saying they don’t even have that drug available…so now were not so sure if Harry is so innocent anymore…don’t get to close to him…I don’t trust him yet...sorry Love” He said and I couldn’t believe it. I knew Harry was innocent…or was I believing a lie I made from the very beginning to justify what I was doing? Was he innocent or not….and was I in love or not…?

“Kelsei?” Zayn asked.

“Yeah… I’m here” I said quietly.

“Listen I’ll talk to you more tomorrow….goodnight” Zayn sighed.

“Good night” I said and hung up the phone. I wanted to cry I was so confused. What the hell was happening? What did I believe?

*The Next Day*


I hardly slept at all last night…why did I fall so easy? Why did I love him? Is he guilty? Did he brutally kill his wife? Was he safe? I didn’t know what I should do when I see him tomorrow….I walked into work and saw Sam drinking her coffee.

“Mornin’ sunshine” She said and I felt like crying.

“What’s wrong babe?” She asked.

“Zayn called me last night and told me not to trust Harry…” I said and explained why.

“Oh shit…” she said and I sighed and plopped into my chair.

“I think you should talk to Harry…see what he has to say” Sam said.

“I will in a little…so how did your date go last night?” I asked. Sam smiled.

“It was good…made me remember why I loved him…but I still don’t feel the same…I don’t know why” she said.
“Did you two kiss?” I asked and Sam bit her lip.

“That’s a yes…but what else happened?” I asked.

“Umm…” Sam said.

“You slept with him!” I yelled and she put her hand over my mouth.

“Shut the hell up bitch!” She laughed.

“Who slept with who?” Liam asked.

“Samantha and Dylan” I said. Sam glared at me and Liam and I laughed.

“You two are back together?” Liam asked.

“Yeah…” she said.

Just then Dylan walked onto the floor. He came over and smiled at Sam.

“Good morning guys” He said.

“Good morning” Liam and I said. We looked at each other and laughed.

“But it’s not as good as last night!” Liam said and Dylan looked at Liam then Sam. Liam and I were cracking up.

“Where you guys do it, on the bed, or someplace foreign…” I asked slyly. I saw Sam go bright red… which caused me and Liam to burst out in laughter.

“You told them?” Dylan asked Sam.

“No…Kelsei guessed and then told Liam…” Liam high-fived Dylan and Sam rolled her eyes.

“Liam why don’t you help me with the new guy” I said and Liam nodded. We both walked away leaving Sam and Dylan.

Sam’s POV:
“Good morning cupcake” Dylan said and kissed me.

“You already said that Hun” I said and he smiled. He kissed me again and then Niall’s bell went off.

“I’ll be right back” I said and Dylan bit his lip and sat down in one of the chairs. I walked over to Niall’s room.

“Don’t you need Liam?” Dylan asked.

“No, he isn’t guilty remember?” I asked and he nodded and I walked in.

“Good morning” Niall said.

“You’re up early” I smiled.

“So how was your date last night?” Niall asked and I sighed.

“Can I ask you something…one human being to the other?” I asked and Niall nodded and patted the spot next to him.

“What’s up?” Niall asked.

“So this guy and I use to date a while back…but he broke up with me saying he wasn’t in love anymore…but then a week later said he was sorry and regrets it….He kept flirting with me and asking for a second chance for a month…never giving up. So the day I say yes to give it a chance I meet this guys…who I think is sweet and adorable…but I don’t know him that well…but would like to…what would you do?” I asked and looked over at him only to see that he was looking at me. His eyes were so blue and gorgeous.

“I think…well I would try it out with that person…and if they give you a reason to break up then take it…or if you find yourself really liking the new guy, then go for the new guy” Niall said and I nodded.

“Thanks” I said and he nodded.

“No problem…oh and you look very cute today” He said and I blushed. I stood up and turned back around.

“I like your eyes too” I said and he smiled. I bit my lip and walked towards the door.

“Was there anything else?” I asked.

“No….just wanted to say good morning” He said and I smiled. I walked out of the room and shut it behind me.
