“No...Way...” I managed to say, no freakin way! Before I could say anything else he drags me into the woods, I was in mixed emotions, and they were running up and down my body, butterflies filling up and knots tightening in my stomach, to push him off.

Know why I was feeling like that? When you have a forbidden mate... Also known as a vampire and a Wolf who are Mates is dangerous. I'm the 4th vampire to have a forbidden mate. I don't know what to do. But there was one thing certain; Our bond would be forcefully broken. I don't think I would be able to take that.

The way we acted when our eyes met, the way I felt when he cupped the right side of my cheek and almost kissed. It definitely wasn't love at first sight. Mates are just very inseparable.

That's when I remembered Niall. My heart ached. That was also one of the reasons I was feeling mixed emotions, mates could feel their mates emotions, more or less.

I stopped, stopping both Josh and I. He kept tugging on me but I shook my head.

“I-”

“Just follow me! I won't do anything to you...” He cuts me off,“I can't do anything to you. I won't be able to.” he looks down.

I began walking with him,“Hurry then.”

We stopped in front of a big tree. I looked at him, confused.

He opens a well camouflaged door and steps in. There was enough space for two people to lie down. I went in and he closes the door.

Awkward silence fell, I had no idea what to say. You can't just say,“Hey! We're forbidden mates! Isn't that intriguing?!” No, the thing about Forbidden Mates is that they're closer than normal mates, and the first word,“Forbidden” already tells us that it wouldn't be allowed.

Though I've heard, a few couples that chose to keep the bond were banished.

Banished. That word tightens the knot in my stomach.

“We have to break the bond.” He says quietly.

My heart broke. I don't know Josh. Even though he's the drummer of the band. I never got to talk to him and I've never seen him in person til' this day. But whatever I was feeling towards him was more than what I feel towards Niall.

“N-no.” I say hesitantly. I want to be with Niall but I want to be with him.

“Kirsten, I can't be banished! I'll be a disgrace!”

So that's the only thing he's caring about now?! His reputation?!

I wanted to slap him but kept quiet instead.

“We're already a disgrace,” I say,“You're and Alpha, stronger wolf than the others. I'm a princess, I'm supposed to help. But we didn't, instead we ran away.”

“What are we going to do?” He says softly.

“Pretend there's nothing between us.”

“I can't do that.” Josh says.

“Why not?”

“You can't be with Niall, Kirsten. You know how wolves are when they're jealous.”

“Try, Josh. I'll try too.”

Josh pauses for a moment, licked his lips then bit it.

And I was watching him completely bedazzled by how sexy he is.

“Fine.” He finally says, snapping me out of my thoughts,“No flirting, no kissing, no-”

“I get it! I'll try not to make you ‘jealous’. ” I say, rolling my eyes.


I've seen wolves getting jealous and let me tell you what happens after; The other guy would end up getting beat up or the other girl ends up with no hair.

Yeah, female wolves are really that determined to keep their mates.

“You should go back now.” Josh says.

I nodded,“When will I see you again?”

“I'll think of something.” and with that, I left the tree and went back to the kingdom.

It wasn't completely peaceful. The vampires were collecting a few dead bodies, heads and dead wolves.

Mum and Dad was there looking really worried. Mum probably noticed me so she looks at my way and her eyes lit up.

“Kirsten! Jesus! You scared the hell out of us!” And in a blink of an eye, she appears next to me and hugged me.

“Where did you go?” Dad asks, who also immidiatley appeared beside me.

“In the woods, a c-couple of wolves were chasing me.” I say.

“Go back to your room, Niall's really worried.”

I nodded and ran to my room.

“Kirsten!” Everyone says.

“Where have you been?” Erin asks.

“Oh my god, are you alright?” Elizabeth asks.

“Why did you leave?” Camille asks.

“In the woods. I'm alright. To help.” I say answering every question.

I felt arms wrapped around my waist and I smelled the scent of Niall.

“I'm sorry.” I say.

“It's okay.” He says.

“C'mon guys,” The others left Niall and I.

“Aah!” Niall groans in pain and drops to the floor.

“Niall? Niall?” I say trying to stop him from rolling around to ask him what's happening.

“Niall!?”

“My head it's so pain!” He says. And then he suddenly stops and say down.

“Are you alright?” I ask, hugging him.

“Y-yeah I'm fine. Kirsten.... I-I'm hearing lots of voices.”

I looked at him, confused. “Huh? What do you mean?”

“I can hear what you're thinking.” He realizes.

“You're asking yourself what's happening. It's not very clear.”

What do you mean not very clear? I open up my mouth to say something but Niall beat me to it.

“You just asked what I meant by not very clear.”

I nodded,“Niall, you really are a prince.”

“Huh? What? Why? How?”

“Only Royals have powers.” I say.

“What's your power?” He asks.

“Mind erasing.” I say.

“Oh yeah.. Kirsten you're not thinking of anything anymore.”

Huh? What? People always think.

“I can hear whispers. That's all I hear from you.” He says.

“But you could hear me clearly just three minutes ago?!”

“I know but I can't hear you anymore.”

“Must've been about us being mates.”

“I think so.”

I sigh. I wish he won't be able to read what's on my mind. He cannot. Ever.

If he does, he might hear me thinking about Josh. And then they'll get into a fight.

“Niall,”

“Yeah?”

“Are you hungry?”

“Oh my god!” Niall shouts.

“Cool, right?” I ask. We were hunting and we were running on full speed in the woods.

Niall was enjoying it.

“Deer on your right.” I say. “Ssshh.”

I crept up to the deer and in a blink of an eye, I jumped on it and killed it, snapping its neck. Niall went to me.

He looked really scared. “Ssh, Niall, we need blood. It's better than killing people.”

He nods,“Alright.” His eye were focusing on the blood that was flowing from the part where i snapped its neck since the skin had torn.

“Just concentrate on the blood, think how thirsty you are.” I say. Niall's eyes slowly turned dark and became Red. His fangs started growing and in a snap of a finger, he was sucking the deer's blood. Once he was finished, we went back to the Castle and he was given a room to stay in.

I didn't want to sleep just yet so I lied on my bed staring at the ceiling.

Finally, I went outside to the field where I could still smell the smell of wolves and blood.

“Pretty boy,” I heard. I was hearing something from far away! I concentrated to listen.

“Oh little-”

“Get out of here.” I hear. I decided to follow the source of the voices and I stayed on top of a very high tree to spot two people. One looked familiar and I realized it was Josh. The other one looked older and much taller.

“Visiting your little princess?”

Josh glares at him.

“Oh, I saw everything, little brother.”

Little brother?!

“Step out of this Jack.”

“No, you destroyed my life. I'm supposed to be the alpha, little bro. But no, you told Mum that I was planning something evil, am I right?” Jack says,“And they banished me!”

He shouted.

“You're a rogue now.”

“Shut up! It doesn't make any difference. I'm telling ALL, Josh. That your mate is the beloved 5th kingdom princess.”

“No you aren't and you're not supposed to be here. They'll kill you.”

“They won't, they can't. I have alpha blood, Josh. Don't forget.”

Josh swung his fist but Jack stops it and kicked his stomach, making Josh stumble back.

“Still so weak.” Jack smiles.“You've never changed.”

Jack walks to Josh and kicked him.

Josh stands up and tried to punch Jack but Jack dodges it and laughs.

He then delivered a punch on Josh's face. I flinched.

Jack laughs,“See you little brother.”

And he transforms into a large black wolf and disappears deeper into the woods. I jump down and ran to Josh. His face was badly beaten, he had a bruise on his shoulder and side.

“Josh? Can you hear me?” I ask.
Josh nods, I carried him back to the castle as quickly as possible into my room.

I grabbed my clean face towel from my bathroom closet and wet it with alcohol and water and starts treating his injuries.

Once finished, I lay him down on my bed.

“Feeling better?”

“yeah.” He says.“Thank you.”

He sits up and faces me.

“We have to break the bond.”

I groan,“Not this again.”

His right hand caressed my cheeks and slowly he leans and finally I felt his lips on mine and we shared a passionate kiss before i pulled away guiltily.

“I'm sorry,” I say. “I'm cheating! I can't do this!”

Josh sighs,“This is what happens if we don't break the bond.” and with that he walks to my open window and jumps down. I watched him as he ran back into the woods and slapped myself.

There was no way I am going to break the bond.

Because I was in love with Josh too much.
