Spies Of Oak Hills ~Completed~

Chapter 1

Ariella's POV

Waking up to a school-wide alarm isn't always what every teen would like to wake up to. Since Oak Hills was one of those schools, we always have to be alert. Even when your sleeping. It actually sucks sometimes, trust me. Especially for any 'newbies' that came this year, they won't be able to get any kind of sleep here since they are new to the program, they won't know what to expect. Myself on the other hand, know everything about this school and what it can do to a person. It can do many horrible, cruel, yet very beneficial things to you, if you allow it.

We are all incredibly close here, but I can only trust these girls with my life. Not even my own blood, whom are no longer here with me at the moment. I have two best friends who I treat as sisters, sisters that I never actually had. And the closest ones I will ever have.

I don't even remember much of my actual family, whether I have siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, I have never recalled any of them. No one of my blood attends this school. It's only me. Records of my family history have been destroyed for some reason, some say its for security reasons, others say to brain wash us. Either way, I don't know. Probably never know.

It is as usually loud as we arrive to our seats in the mess hall for breakfast, light conversation about one of the classes that we have as a group. Apparently there is going to be a substitute, as some of the fellow spies are rumoring, but makes it unsure for me. It was scarcely rare here for a teacher to be "out". Since we all live in the building, no one ever exits the premises without the 'okay' from the Head Mistress, and even then we are still secured While we were eating, the Head Mistress herself came over the intercom, chirpy as usual, in a happy and bright mood.

"Good Morning ladies and gentlemen! I just want to remind you all that today we are having the transfer of new students to our beloved Oak Hills. So, if we happen to go into a lock down, that is because one or more of the students have accidentally wandered away and got lost. We would be in the immediate process of searching for him/her/them. Upper class-men, you understand the drill, please help others that seem lost. No one is allowed to leave the premises for the next couple of days, just as a safety precaution. Have a great day everyone!" She said in utter happiness before the intercom turns off.

"I wonder if there are cute guys coming this year.." Nicki starts. "We really need some cute guys around here." Nicki says calmly to Carie and I, forgetting that Seth and Josh are sitting across from us right now.

I met Seth and Josh a little after meeting Nicki and Carie. They are both room mates, and are one hall and floor away from us. On my first week here, I was picked on during Gym Class by these two older males that, of course, no longer attend the school. They are probably in jail by now, knowing them. Those two noticed me and lended a helping hand. Ever since then we became good friends, and at times I feel like they became my own bodyguards. Even though I can now defend for myself.

We now have that brother sister relationship, and they take things to the next level at times. They both looked over to her and gave death glares. Carie and I jerked our heads to the guys' direction and she soon caught on, a soft blush forming on her cheeks with embarrassment. She isn't one of the brightest when it comes to being around guys, but I still love her deeply. In fact, we all do.

"Don't get me wrong, you guys are alright, but you're just not my-" Carie started but was cut off by Seth, motioning his hand to pause as he shakes his head.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, we get it. Please, don't continue. We know, we are too good looking for you." He continues to shake his head, slightly chuckling.

"Sorry." She apologizes, picking at her nails. It got silent for about a full minute as we ate our breakfast. Glances shared across the table, Seth and Josh mentally sharing looks as always.

"Well." Seth speaks up. I already know something wrong is going to come out of his mouth. "With Nicki talking about opposite gender, I now can't stop thinking about the new girls that are coming." He smirks. And, there it is. Of course, Seth has always been one for payback. We gave him the same glare, mentally telling him to quit it. He just chuckled at us.

"Calm down, I was just kidding, right?" He shakes his head as he nudges Josh. Josh is the most responsible one of us all, always wanting to get everything done on time, not a moment later. He is kind of like our father, in a way when he wants to. He scooted back on his chair slowly, raising his hands up in surrender.

"Dude, not cool. Leave me out of this.. I have no comment." He says with a straight face, making us laugh.

"No, but seriously I think this is going to be pretty cool to have new people come to the school." I pause to take in my drink, my throat parched. The laughter had now died down, all of us calmed down. "I don't think I can recall the last time this school had new students coming in that aren't already connected to the school."

"I'm with you on that." Seth mumbles with his mouth full. I scrunch my face at him.

"Please don't speak with your mouthful. How many times do I have to tell you, that?" I exhale. He swallows the food in his mouth before speaking.

"Sorry, Ari." I nod and continue to pick at my food. Is it weird that I don't even feel hungry right now? Maybe I can head down to the gym for a bit before classes start.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A high-pitched voice says from behind me, tapping my shoulder. I didn't even have to turn around to know it was Miss Whore of the Hour with her little posse. I made a small sigh, not bothered to even look at her.

"Go away, Brittney." I said flatly. I knew Brittney for a long time here. Not the nicest or sweetest person on the planet... She may look that way, but she really isn't. Learned that the hard way.

"Aww is little Miss. Sugar Pie gwumpy today?" I didn't respond. If I give her what she wants, she will continue doing what she does best: Annoy everyone with her annoying squeaky voice.

"What?" She presses on, tapping my shoulder again. I squeeze my eyes shut, knowing she will eventually leave, and I can be at peace once more.

"What's wrong? Do you think I would take your friends away from you? After you accused me for stealing your precious boyfriend?" She continues, her fingers playing with my loose ends of my hair.

They tug on them sharply, but I don't let it bother me. My hands curled into fists to help contain my emotion. I open my eyes slightly, looking ahead of me, which was Josh. He shakes his head, knowing what I was thinking. I uncoil my fists and lay them flat on my lap, still waiting for her to leave.

"Oh, wait." She adds, as if she just remembered something. "Shouldn't I be saying, EX- boyfriend, hmm?"

I swiftly turned around to face her, prepared to slap her across the face but all my friends held me back down to the table, quietly scolding me. She jumps back slightly, but still has that stupid smirk on her face, telling me that she isn't scared. I shouldn't even be acting this way. It was way back when, or at least I think it was. It feels like it's been too long.

"You have some nerve bringing that up. Did it slip your mind that you are one strike away from being kicked out? And aren't you already on a restraining order?" Carie questions, her teeth clenched shut. Carie never liked Brittney. Let's leave it at that. As for the restraining order, it did go that far between us.

Okay, I actually begged for one against her when it got to the point where I was going to equip myself with one of the school's practice weapons and shoot her. I bargained for either that or the restraining order. Of course, they don't want any "Intentional" murdering at this school, as it would damage the school's record. Instead, she was supposed to be relocated for the time being of her restraining order to the U.S' school ground of Oak Hills. She was then flown by plane, and was to not return unless directed other wise.

"Of course, hun, but it ends as of today. So guess what? I'm back!" She cheers, loudly enough to earn an applause from the student body. "Paybacks a bitch ain't it?" She whispers, twirling her hair around her thin finger. The students in the cafeteria begins to chant softly; 'fight, fight, fight'. Josh quickly moves to my ear.

"Don't listen, Ariella. We don't want a repeat of what happened last time." He harshly whispers.

I got myself out of my friends' grip and left them all there, being called out constantly, receiving boo's from the spectating students as I leave the large room. I walk on my own through halls, stair cases, until I stop at a door, labeled "Head Mistress' Office." Or in other words, my adoptive-mother.

Then again, she 'adopted' us all, but she pays extra close attention to me for some reason. Whenever I head out of the school, say on a field trip to do some field work in the real world, I have to check in with her constantly, to at least notify her that I am still alive.

"Really?" I say as soon as I stepped in, without even knocking or anything. She was typing away on her computer, probably making an email to someone, but stops when I enter. She sends me a smile, a face knowing what my purpose was for barging in so suddenly.

"Good morning to you too, sweetie." Her soft voice was enough to calm me down from my small fit of rage. Almost. It's still there, but just not as much.

"Not to interrupt what you were doing, Head Mistress, but why the hell is Ms. Reynolds back on school grounds? The same school grounds, is what I mean." I ask her, politely as possible. She shakes her head, finishing up whatever she was working on, before turning off the monitor. She gestures to the seat across from hers, on the other side of her desk.

"First, no foul language, remember?" She cocks an eyebrow, knitting her fingers together and placing them on her desk. I nod my head. She doesn't like the use of foul language in her presence, but I've grown to use them, especially when I am clearly upset.

"Second," She continues. "Her restraining order has officially ended as of today, and because she is still a part of the school and needs to finish her curriculum, she must return to this school. So I want you on your best behavior around her, okay?" She looks at me, waiting for my response.

"You can't be serious." I mutter, leaning back on the chair.

"I'm as serious as I can ever be. I don't want to hear any problems concerning you and her. We don't want a repeat of last time. We barely made it out of that situation, there will be no repeats. Are we clear?" She raises an eyebrow, silently asking me to answer.

"Yes ma'am." I sigh.

"Good. Now get to class. You are going to be late." She dismisses me. I do as I was told and leave her office, but in frustration. I don't want to have another year with her. I really don't.
