Living with kids

*Niall’s pov*
The kids and I are on our way to court. Today they will say who they want to live with. I am really nervous for two reasons, 1. What if the kids don’t want to be with me? It’s like losing my whole world. There would be nothing to live on for. I would have to start all over again. 2. What if they do want to be with me and Trixy gets mad and try’s to take them from me? This is going to be along day. “Dad everything is going to be ok we all want to stay with you.” Matthew said trying to keep me from going crazy. “How do you know that the other two want to be here?” “Dad Karissa is a daddy’s girl plus we have our reasons of staying with you.” Matthew said looking out the window. What reasons was he talking about?
We walked through the court doors and got escorted to our seats. The first kid that was up was Matthew. He smiled at me and said “I choose….. Dad.” The judge nodded her head and Matt went back to his seat. Next was Tristan. I looked over at Trixy she was staring straight ahead. “I choose my dad.” Tristan went back to his seat. Now was Karissa. This was hard for her she loved both her mom and her dad. Even if she was a daddy’s girl she loved her mom and I know that this isn’t easy on her. I looked over at Trixy again she looked scared tears in her eyes. She put her head down and wiped away the tears then looked up again watching Karissa make her way up the stand. Karissa sat there looking at me and then to Trixy and back to me again. It was like she didn’t know who to choose. She was only 5 she shouldn’t have to choose between her mom and dad none of the kids should. “Daddy” That was the only thing that came out of little Karissa’s mouth she ran off the stand and into my arms. Trixy huffed and put her head back down on the table. “I would like to know why all 3 kids choose their father!” Said the judge. I looked over at Matt he just nodded his head and he took Karissa’s hand and led them up to the stand. I looked at Trixy and she had a surprised and scarred look on her face. Karissa spoke up “When daddy was on tour mommy used to hit us.” I was shocked I looked at Trixy with anger. Why didn’t they tell me this was going on? The kids came back to me. “Dismissed” The judge yelled and everyone stood up. We walked out of the court as fast as we could so that I wouldn’t have to look or talk to Trixy. She was out of my life now and I wanted nothing to do with her.
The court session went longer then planed and it was late. Matthew went up to his room. I took Karissa and Tristan to their rooms and I tucked them in. “Daddy I love you.” Karissa said before I walked out. “I love you too Sweetheart I kissed her head and walked out of the room. I went to Matthews’s room. “Matt why didn’t you tell me mom was hitting you guys?” He looked down in his arms. “She would hit Karissa and Tristan because they were so wild and loud she couldn’t deal with 3 kids on her own.” I hugged him “Matthew I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you guys.” “I know dad.” He smiled and crawled under his covers. I got up and walked to the door. “Night buddy.” I said walking out of the room. I walked to my room and changed into my PJ’s. I could sleep all I could think about was the kids.
