Chapter 25

*Juliet Still Speaking*

After an hour I finally got to sleep having a dream about Aislyn and her baby.

When I woke up I decided to go and talk to my mother about what El said in my dream. I jumped in the car before the kids were up for school and drove to Fairfield Old People's Home.

I told the front desk that I needed to speak to my mother and they let me through. I saw Mum sitting up in her bed with a cup of tea.

'Good morning darling.' She said smiling.

'Morning Mum, or should I call you that...' I said.

'Juliet? What's wrong?'

'You know how El is dead?'

'Yes.'

'I had a dream that I visited her in heaven and she brought up the fact of me pushing Stephanie into the road when I was 12 which sadly ended in her death.'

'Yes of course.' She looked sad as she said it.

'She was accusing me of murder and by the end of our conversation she screamed "You killed my only biological sister". Which got me thinking. Am I adopted?'

'Oh God. Your father and I never thought it would come to this. I was going to tell you when you visited me yesterday but I thought you'd react badly. It looks like Eleanor's beat me to it. I never really wanted to tell you because you and Niall seem so happy together.'

'What does this have to do with me and Niall? Tell me the story.'

'Okay well. Your Dad kept going to play tennis with his "workmates" every evening just after Eleanor was born. I thought it was just that he needed some friends. He did this for 7 months. In late January a blonde very pretty woman knocked at our door. She asked for your father. I said he was out at work and if I could take a message. She nodded and told me to tell him that his girlfriend just popped round to tell him that she was pregnant with twins from different fathers and one of them was his. Of course I was shocked to hear that he was cheating on me. I told her that I was his wife and she said that she was cheating on HER husband which kind of made me feel better. She seemed nice and we talked for hours playing with El and Steph. When John came home the girl broke up with him but said he had to keep his baby when it's born. He agreed and I stayed married to him which some people were mad about. When the twins were born they were a boy and girl. The girl was you. John and I took you home and called you Juliet because Stephanie was studying Romeo and Juliet at school, she was 7.'

'Who was the girl Dad cheated on you with and what happened to my twin?'

'Um.. your twin lived with his parents and older brother. He is now famous and the girl's name is Maura Gallagher. Also known as your mother-in-law. Your twin is your husband.'
