Aislyn and Gemini (Collapse Sequel)

Chapter 2
Florence sent Sissy home which to be honest made me happy. I sat upstairs playing around on my phone. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Someone knocked at the door.
'Come in.' I croaked, plugging in my phone. Dad walked in.
Dad: Hi Aislyn.
Me: Oh hi Dad.
Dad: I have some news.
Me: What? Is Florence pregnant again?
Dad: No. Definitely not. I've.. um... I've asked her to leave.
Me: Huh?
Dad: She's moving away taking Paige with her. Back to Kentucky. Just for a few months.
Me: Why?
Dad: Because you don't like her. I hate to see you unhappy.
Me: I've been unhappy for 3 years. Ever since you married that slut.
Dad: Language.
Me: Sorry. I was upset that you moved on so quickly. I mean if one of my family died or went into a coma I would wait way more than 9 years to replace you.
Dad: *Laughing* Thanks.
Me: When will mum wake up?
Dad: I have no idea.
Me: Do you still love her?
Dad: Of course I do. I'd do anything for her to be here right now.
Me: Tell me about her.
Dad: Well she was kind and funny. She fell in love to easily and for that reason and the reason that she was drop-dead gorgeous she was taken advantage.
Me: What do you mean?
Dad: You know your grandfather, my Dad?
Me: Yeah the one in prison.
Dad: He was married to your Mum.
Me: What?
Dad: He married your Mum when she was 18. I fell in love with her then. Her older sister was Louis's girlfriend, Eleanor. She died. Mum's parents died 2 years before me and your Mum got married and 2 days before she and your grandfather got married. Gemini is half your grandfather's child and half mine.
Me: I don't understand.
Dad: Ok, I know what'll help.
He ran out my room and came back with a blue leather-backed book with a big "J" written in gold on the front.
Dad: This is her diary. She only wrote in it on Christmas day each year starting at 2012 and ending with 2015. She went over her year in it. If you need more things to help you find out more I have a whole cupboard in my room filled with her stuff.
He handed me the book. I treated it like an antique, running my hand along the lather and stroking the pages. The book smelled of a rose-like perfume and Dove deodorant.
Me: Thank-you so much Dad. I love you.
I stood up and kissed his cheek. He hugged me. I heard the front door open.
'Bye everyone, see you in a few months!' Florence voice said. Dad released me.
'I really should say goodbye.' He said.
'I understand.' He started to leave. 'Before you go! Does Gemini know who her real father is?'
'No.' He said. He left. I laid down on my bed and flipped to the beginning of the Diary.
I started to read.
