Chapter 10
It's been a busy couple of days. With Florence leaving, Dad giving me Mum's diary, that interview, meeting Lucas and hearing his story. I was so glad it was Sunday.
I snuggled myself into the sofa with Mei Mei on my lap. I switched to Comedy Central and watched some Friends. Dad came into the room and sat next to me. He placed his head in the crease of my neck and took my hand in his. I looked at him weirdly.
'I'm sorry I said that about your mother.' He said.
'It's okay.' I said.
'No it's not!' He said.
'Dad it's fine. I don't give a shit.' I said.
'Language.'
'Does it look like I care?' I gestured to my un-amused face.
'Okay. It's fine. If you say it's fine. Then it's fine.' He got up and started to walk away. 'Oh before I forget. Amina's coming round at 3 so tidy your room.' He left. I breathed a sigh of relief. By the way Amina is my best friend from the horrible prison they call school. Dad came back.
'Hey Dad , I haven't seen you in while.' I said sarcastically.
'Shut up.' He said.
'What did you want to tell me now?' I asked.
'Don't forget about our annual trip to Mullingar to see Uncle Greg, Auntie Denise, Granny Maura, your 3 cousins Theo, Leah-Jane and Livy. Oh and Catherine-May.' He said. I winced at Theo's name.
'Okay Dad.' He finally left.
Let me tell you about my other side of cousins and not Georgia, Lana and Lucas. I love Theo and always have. You know when you get butterflies when you see the person you have a crush on? Well that's basically what the last 11 years have been like. I know I have Taha but you can't stop a girl from dreaming. Theo is what Harry Styles and Justin Bieber before they met their wives (and husband for Bieber (Sorry Belibers. Abi x)). He is a player. He messes with girls hearts. He tells her he loves her and then BAM he sleeps with some random girl off the street. I'm just saying that Theo lost his v-card aged 10 to a 14 year-old girl who he seduced. Eurgh!
Leah-Jane is a couple of months older than me. She is a professional cyclist and competes for Mullingar in different cycling races around Ireland. At a cycling race, aged 10, was where she met the 30-year-old father of her daughter Catherine-May. Catherine-May was conceived on March 12th 2025 when some guy I think his name was Roger kidnapped Leah-Jane and raped her. Nine months later on December 8th Leah gave birth to a baby girl and called her Catherine-May.
Livy is the youngest of the three (apart from Catherine-May) and the most pretty. She has dark hair and blue eyes and is an 11-year old model for Ralph Lauren Kids and DKNY Kids. She got noticed by Ralph Lauren himself when she was 3 and Ralph was doing some charity stuff. She has told me a lot of times to get her a date with my brother but I know that his heart is set on Georgia. Actually if I think about it Liam (My brother) has had a lot of admirers in his time. Georgia, Mahnoor, Lana, Leah-Jane, Darci-Rose and Livy. If he weren't my brother and my dad wasn't so protective of him and he was a couple years older he would totally get some.

After tidying my room for half an hour I heard the doorbell ring. I ran downstairs and opened the door.
'Hi.' I said. I saw Amina and her mother Domi at the door.
'Hi Aislyn.' Domi said. 'Amina will go home on her own at whatever time she wants as long as she texts me first!' Domi left leaving me and Amina in that awkward silence thing.
'Wanna go upstairs?' I suggested.
'Yes sure!' She said. We went upstairs and I poured everything out.
'What are you going to tell Taha?' She asked.
'I've got no idea.' I said.
'Can I ask you a question?' She asked.
'Sure.'
'If you and Theo um... do "it", can you tell me everything?' She asked her brown eyes sparkling.
'I swear Monica says that in "The One with all the Thanksgivings".' I said trying to avoid the question.
'You and your friends! Look it's embarrassing enough having to ask you that! Will you tell me?'
'Okay, fine. I doubt it will happen. But if it does I will.'
