Love & The City

There is a knock on the door and the doctor who gave me the suppressant comes in.
"Hello Ms Klett, nice to see you woke up" he says with a professional smile "I am Dr Benson, I treated you when you first came here."
"Yes, I remember. Thankyou; whatever you gave me - it helped."
"So you are not in pain?"
"No"
"Are you experiencing dizzines, disorientation, nausea?"
"When I woke up I had to realign and my head was buzzing, I feel better now."
He marks something on the clipboard he carries "Alright then. I'll have nurse check your vitals and when the results from the tests we ran while you were under medication are in, I'll come back"
"Ok, thanks"
He smiles again and leaves.
"I hope I'll get out soon. I just feel so redundant, lying in a bed doing nothing all day. The last time I was in hospital was when I had my appendix removed a few years ago. It was unimaginably boring and the worst was when I wasn't allowed to eat" I remember pouting
"After I had my tonsils removed when I was six they let me eat as much ice-cream as I wanted, I was the happiest kid in the world" Max drops with a grin
"So that's where you got the habit of eating more ice-cream than I used to think is humanly possible" Anne banters
"That's not true" he responds sourly
"Max, we've got four compartments in our freezer - one for each of us and one for your ice-cream" I point out
Eleanor laughs melodiously, still standing at the foot of my bed.
"Hey, I need my hoard! None of you has the problem to have the girl they love on another continent" He defends his cravings
Anne and I look at him disbelievingly annoyed, because mourning over his difficult relationship is his cop-out for everything - not washing the dishes, listening to Taylor Swift and what not. He recognizes our looks and adds "Hello 6.385 km!"
"How many miles are that?" Anne asks cluelessly. Max shrugs
"Besides, Sophie misses her friends and family, too still you don't see her walking around wanting to be pitied"
"Well you know what sucks? Having your boyfriend on the other side of the world with millions of hormone-filled teenagers begging him to marry them or to have his babies or to show them his arse. They're not all pubescent though, add thousands of really hot bods his age. Oh and let's not forget about all the people calling you an ugly bitch because they're jealous, or even better they call you a fraud because they think he's secretly with one of his bandmates and you're covering his image!" Eleanor bursts out in a rush and we stare at her in shock. She seems to have been holding that in for quite a time.
"Please don't tell Louis.." she mumbles sheepishly
"You sure you don't want to talk to him about this? He's in this situation, too, he'll understand. Hell I've merely had a few speculations about Niall and me and I understand where you're at"
"The thing is, we've talked about it uncountable times. There's no use in making him feel guilty if he can't change the situation" Eleanor sighs jaded. "But, erm I don't mean to be rude, but if you already know you can't handle all of this now, I must ask you to back of things with Niall. I mean, you seem like a really nice person, but if you're not strong enough to bear all the things that come with him it will only break his heart and he doesn't deserve that. Plus, you' ll probably suffer, too - if not from heartbreak, from harassment. That's the ugly truth, I'm sorry to break it to you like this, but it is something you need to know." She has stiffened up while talking to me and Anne and Max throw her disapproving looks.
"Yeah, I get what you mean"
The others look at me surprised and Eleanor even seems a bit sorry. Reacting to that I continue"I'm not mad or anything, because everything you said is true. But having you defend him, proves that Niall is a great person and I'd really like to have him in my life..." I admit. Of course I blush immediately, like I do every time I confess my feelings.
"Good" Eleanor replies smiling. "Oh, I nearly forgot I was supposed to tell the lads when you wake up and how you're doing and everything." She starts towards the door, but stops in the middle of her way "If that's okay with you..?" She looks at me hesitantly
"Of course it is"
"Great, I'll be back in a few.. If you don't mind" She aks again with a wink.
"Not at all" I laugh. When she shuts the door I look at Max and Anne "I think I could really like her"
"At least she's not as pretentious as this Lindsay bitch" Anne smirks, causing Max and me to erupt laughter until we cry.

Notes

Okay no new inside on Niall, but on Eleanor. I suppose the boys' girlfriends really feel a bit like that and it makes me sad. Long distance is never easy and not even getting some alone time without anyone watching your every move when you do see each other... Wow, I just noticed I really admire their strength I would have given up nearly immediately :/ Well, maybe not with a boyfriend as perfect as Louis Tomlinson or Liam Payne ;)

I really tried to make a longer chapter, but then Midnight Memories came out and I have to watch it on repeat now. I'm sure you're doing the same. Here are a few of my favourite GIFs:
