One Chance *On Hold*
Chapter 11
**Aria’s POV** Sunday
Last night I sat in the living room with Jake and Ryan. We just kind of got to know each other for awhile. Jake was upbeat always laughing and smiling and doing weird little voices; it was refreshing to be with someone like that. Ryan was- sassy but hilarious. Then we watched a movie and I fell asleep on their couch.
Now I’m in car with Jane and Leah. They already made me explain every detail of the night and asked me about Louis, but I just avoided those questions.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, another text from Louis.
‘Please Aria just talk to me –L’ I plopped my phone back down on the seat without answering.
We parked in my driveway. Like usually my mom was at her boyfriends the one day she’s off. We walked up to my room and I quickly curled up into my bed. “So what are you going to do about Louis?” Leah asked.
“I told you, I don’t want to talk about it” I mumbled.
“You know what. I’m not going to let you sit around being all mope. We just have one week till spring break. So let’s figure out what were gonna do for break” Jane demanded.
“Something crazy,” Leah said excitedly.
We haven’t done something ‘crazy’ in awhile now. Which is weird considering the past summer was just insane. Last summer we all found out who our real selves were and who brought out the best and worst in us. Leah was always the life of the party, coming up with stupidly crazy things for us to do. Jane is the shyest out of us three, but when she got comfortable around you, she turning into a bubbly, hilarious person. Then there’s me, I guess I figured out that 1. I don’t like party’s I would rather just drink with a few friends 2. I really don’t care what other people think of me 3. I’m kind of the dare devil of our little group.
But since school started our wild sides have kind of been lost in the dust with school, work, and homework. We don’t have much time for ‘crazy’.
“Well all your idea’s our crazy so that should be too hard” I laughed.
“Maybe we should like go on a trip or something” Jane suggested.
“Yes!” Leah practically screamed. “Let’s go to California!”
Okay that was a little more than crazy. Going to California would cost a fortune. Not something I can afford. “Who’s paying?” I grunted.
“Well we need to find out how much in costs, but with my dad’s help we can probably get our plane tickets really cheap.” Jane said. Her dad work in an airline company thing, I don’t really know, but is got them plane tickets for almost nothing.
Even with discount ticket we still have to pay for a hotel and food and everything else.
“We are making this happen somehow! I don’t care what it takes we are going to Cali for break” Leah said before grabbing my laptop.
“How much is it?” Jane asked.
Leah had been on my laptop for almost an hour trying to figure out how much it would cost and finally figured out what the total would be around.
“A lot” She mumbled.
“Just tell us” I pushed.
“Okay, okay it is around 2,500” She said.
“There’s no way I can save up that much in a week” I let out.
“Well it will be divided into three so um around 840” Leah said.
“I have around 500 in my bank account, but I can make three hundred dollars in one week at my job” I fiddled with the hair tie around my wrist.
“Okay with what I have saved plus a little help from my parents I can pay my part” Jane said.
“Yeah, me too” Leah added “Aria, I know this isn’t a perfect idea, but you seem to know a group of boy that has very well off parents.”
She was referring to Louis and the boy. Even though they didn’t act like it everyone knew their parents were rich. They actually met at a private school then switch into public together in 9th grade. But was see suggesting that I ask them for money? What the hell?
“So?” I asked confused.
“Maybe if you invited them”
“No!” I quickly cut her off.
“C’mon we agreed that we would all do anything to make this happen! So if that means taking a few rather fun guys with us then we are doing it.” Jane piped in.
Monday
I sat down at an empty table in the courtyard. Jane had to make up a test so she wouldn’t be joining me today. I pulled out my notebook and started adding to something I was doodling in class.
I felt someone graze me as they sat down next to me. I quickly shut the notebook and looked up. Louis of coarse was sitting next to me.
“I’m not always good with explaining so um just- here.” He said handing me a bundle of roses with a note attached.
Aria, you are the most stunning girl I have ever seen. I swear the only reason I kissed that girl was to getting Harry and Niall to leave me alone long enough for me to ditch that party. You were the only thing I could think about that whole night and ever moment since then. I want you and only you. Xx -L
I felt butterflies in my stomach as I read it. It seemed really, not like he was just trying to use me. “You’re an asshole and I hate you,” I said “but I think you’re worth it. And I wasn’t planning on inviting you, but Leah, Jane, and I our going to LA for spring break. You and the guys should come.”
His face lit up in seconds. “We would love to” Louis grinned.

Leah, Jane, the boys, Perrie, Dani, and I all sat around Niall and Harry’s living room sorting out everything about spring break. I honestly can’t believe we are doing this. It’s insane. We decided since I didn’t have my complete share of the trip I will be picking up at ton of shifts at the diner to get as much as I can then everyone else is going to split what’s left of it.
**Louis’s POV**
So one day Aria won’t even talk to me and the next she is inviting me to come on vacation with her. Weird but this is an amazing chance for me; I’d be a complete fool to let it go.
“Well my shift starts soon” Aria said checking her phone.
“Are you walking or do you want me to drive you?” Leah asked her.
“I can walk” Aria said before getting up. “Bye guys”
Everyone said bye before she headed towards the door. Without thinking I walked out the door behind her. “What are you doing?” she asked looking down at her phone.
“I want to go for a walk so” I dropped off “Who are you texting?”
“Um no one,” She said sliding her phone into her back pocket “but really you don’t need to walk me there.”
“I am walking with you” I said leaving a space between each word.
Aria walked beside me down the street. Her long red hair was messy from the wind, but still landed perfecting around her shoulders and back. She looks amazing. “Take a picture it’ll last long” She said still looking straight forward.
“There’s feisty Aria” I chuckled.
“And there’s asshole Louis” She quickly responded.
**Aria’s POV**
I could feel Louis eyes on me still. It made me feel nervous, but I kept it hidden confidently striding down the street. Then the rain started to come. “Damn it. I seriously need a car” I complained pulling the hood of my sweatshirt over my head. Louis laughed at my comment. “What?” I snapped at him.
“Lighten up” He said poking my shoulder “Have a laugh”
“I laugh a lot, but only around funny people”
He made a fake offended face “Well then”
I couldn’t help, but smile at how over dramatic he was being. Out of nowhere he grabbed me flinging my around him shoulder. I pounded on his back “Put me down”
“Not until you say that I’m funny”
“Seriously I’m getting soaked” I said
“I have that effect of women” He chuckled as he kept walking.
“Nasty. Now put me down, One,” I threatened “Two”
“Three” He peeped.
I screamed loudly and he put me down “Fine, Jerk” He said “but I can beat that” a loud long shout followed.
“Shut up! People are staring” I laughed
Louis smirked down at my gesturing that he won. His hair was now soaked and messy, but he still looked really cute. He looked so much different from the first time we talked a few weeks ago. Then he was emotionless most of the time, rough, and over all a jerk, but now I see a different side of him, a side that is constantly making me laugh me doing stupid stuff and just being- well the real him. “By the way, I like the real you much more than the bad boy you.”
He looked down at me confused. “There are two sides to you. There’s the one that gets in fights and hooks up with girl every night, then there’s this you that funny and nice. I like this one much better”
Louis looked kind of taken away by this, “Aria, you know I just realized I know practical nothing about you, so for the rest of this walk were going to get to know each other”
“Okay you first” I said to him.
The rest of the walk flew by. We talked about everything from our favorite colors to what we want to do when we graduate.”I’ll call you when I’m done” I smiled.
Out of nowhere he kissed me. It’s not like that was the first time he has, but the other time it was forced and meaningless. This kiss though, it was short and sweet and it took my breath away. “um- uh- bye” I stuttered over my word before turning into the diner.
