Breathe

“Harry stop tapping your foot” El whines as I halt my foot in mid tap.

“It’s been ages since we last seen a doctor walk out” Louis inquires, I gaze at him harshly

“What’s your point Lou?”

“Nothing, just spectating that’s all” He shrugs his shoulders

“She’s been in for the whole day” I answer his unasked question

“Which means she’s alive,” I whisper

“What did she say to you Harry? Please tell us,” Dani begs but no amount of begging will get me to reveal what was said between Nina and I.

“Don’t worry about it, alright?” I say as nicely as I can. I’m not ready for people to know I’m going to be a father.

She shakes her head disappointingly

“Simon wants to cancel the whole tour,” Liam reads off his phone, my stomach drops and my mouth goes dry

“Wha-What?” I say horrified

“He says that this break is pro longing and it’s not worth it to reschedule every single show, he says we should cancel it” His eyes narrow

“We can’t cancel that would ruin our careers” Zayn shouts outraged, saying the words that run through my mind.

“No, no, no” I hold my head in my hands, everything that I don’t want happening is happening, I can’t choose between my career and my Nina.

“I can’t leave her” I put my hand over my mouth

“Simon wants to talk to us in person, he’ll be here shortly” Liam looks at us all.

I’ve never been so torn before in my life.

“Where’s Niall?” I gawk

“Tia is having family trouble I don’t know he said he’d be back in a few days”
El answers

“So he can run off with a girl and he’s not expected to chose between her and his career?” I growl

“Niall said he’d do anything we decide” Zayn is quick to defend him.

“Don’t worry about it right now Harry, Simon doesn’t come till tonight” Louis reassures me, it doesn’t ease the tension in the room or the panic inside me.

“You look beat, take a nap we’ll wake you if anything happens” Liam and Louis stare at one another, worry growing in their faces.

“If anything happens, wake me alright?” I warn them once, and then angle my head against the wall, comfortable enough to doze off.

My body shakes as someone rudely pushes my shoulders back and forth.

“Harry” The voice echo’s in my brain

“Harry” They repeat

“Wha-What” I open my eyes slowly and everyone is hovering over me

“Nina! Where’s Nina?!” I shoot myself up and rub my eyes
“Nina’s fine” Liam reassures me, I look at the clock, I’ve only been out a few hours.

“Why did you wake me?” I narrow my eyes

“Simon and management are here” They all look down at their feet, my stomach drops.

“Where?”

“They’re waiting in there,” He points to a boardroom across the hall.

I stride towards it “Lets get this over with”

I open the oak door and am met with stern faces.

“Harry, boys, sit” Simon gestures to the chairs. I sit in the farthest one as the rest of the lads flock in.

“Harry this is going on much too long” He starts and clasps his hands together.

“I’m not leaving her,” I state sharply

“If we cancel the tour say goodbye to one direction, you guys are at your peak this is nonsense” His voice raises

“I’m not leaving Nina, I can’t do that to her”

“You’re not leaving her you’re making a grown up decision to continue your tour”

“Simon I can’t, I need to know she’s safe and healthy I can’t leave you don’t understand” I widen my eyes. They don’t understand, I can’t leave Nina or the baby.

“I will arrange someone to be here everyday like you would and make sure she’s alright, you will have daily calls about the stability of your girlfriend” He talks as if she’s some sort of contract.

“You sound absurd, you’re asking me to chose between Nina, or my career” I sound outraged, matching my feelings exact.

“No, I’m not, you can have both you’re just spending all your time with Nina and not even thinking about others, like your millions of fans or your band mates” He points to lads, who are quiet and distant from the conversation. I feel bad instantly, he’s right. I haven’t even been paying attention to them, it’s not just my career it’s theirs too, and the fans I’ll never know how to repay them. I can’t even imagine how disappointed they’d be in us if we cancelled the tour. That would all be my fault.

“What do you guys think?” I ask shyly

“We don’t want to loose our careers but it’s up to you mate, Nina needs you” Liam talks for the group

“But she knows I love her and plus we have a tour break in a few weeks, she’d understand” I say quietly staring at my feet.

“It’s up to you Harry” Louis looks at me

“Yeah I’ll do what Harry wants” Zayn smiles

Simon glares at me as the management around him scribble down things on their papers.

“So you’re coming back with us and you’re going to finish what you started; before you met Nina?” His hands curl together once more

“I-“ I pause and take a deep breath, so much stress and pressure is on me.

“We’ll finish the tour” I look down at my feet as the team rejoices. The lads are happy, I know they love Nina too but we can’t let down millions of people.

“You guys will follow Margret please and she will take you to your private car” Simon points to a older women in a suit.

“Wait I don’t get to tell Nina?!” I panic

“ She wont be out of surgery for another few hours we don’t have that much time mate” Simon looks at me quizzically

“No Simon he has to tell her, he has to say goodbye” Louis backs me up

“He can not” He says staccato

“So she’s going to wake up and he’s not going to be there?! That’s madness” Zayn yells

Two people enter the doors, a small women and a taller man.

“This is Sarah and Patrick they will be watching over Nina while you are away, Sarah has all the details and they will notify Nina of the exact situation when she wakes up, just as I’ve said it to you” He smiles at the people as they wave at us.

“This is wrong,” I whisper

“They will call you when Nina wakes up and you may talk to her yourself, does that sound better?” He pats my back.

“I guess…” I frown looking at my feet.

“Good! Let’s go, we can’t miss our flight”

He rushes us out of the room

“This is wrong, this is so wrong” I let my head fall into my hands as we reach the car in one piece, almost being torn apart by screaming fans.

“Harry, Nina will be awake in a few hours and then you can call her okay?” Zayn reassures me

“This is bullshit guys, complete bullshit” I’m angry, the lads agreed with Simon

“We could’ve stayed” Louis says non-chelontly

“No we couldn’t have, don’t even say that. You’d rather have your career you don’t care about Nina or me,” I snap

“That’s a lie Harry and you know it, we said we’d do anything you wanted, we backed you up, stop looking for a fight” Louis snaps back.

“You only stood up for me when I wanted to say goodbye, you like Simon walk all over me” I yell

“Enough” Liam screams

“We’ll kill each other if we analyze the shit out of what just happened, it’s wrong and not fair but life isn’t fair Harry and you can’t just check out because you love Nina!” He says calmly but with slight anger.

Nina’s P.O.V (8 hours later)

My eyelids burn as pain radiates throughout my bones. I groan, not sure if the sound was heard or made noise but it made my body vibrate.

My mouth is dry, too dry for my liking. I open one eye at a time and am met with the white sterile celling it’s foggy and blurry but I’m alive, I’m awake.

“Nina Vinci” An over excited unknown women’s voice speaks. I try to tilt my head down to see her, she’s dressed to the nine’s with blonde curls that spring up to her ears.

“H-Hi” I croak and look around, where’s Harry?

“I'm Sarah, how are you feeling?” The dumb broad asks stupidly, can’t she look at me and see I just got out of surgery and I’m obviously not feeling good? Fucking dumbass…

“Peachy” I whisper sarcastically

“Where’s Harry?” I ask

“Oh Harold, he left you, he said he couldn’t deal with all the stress and that he wont be coming back, he apologizes and hopes you have a speedy recovery!” She says with enthusiasm and my heart drops.

“He-He’s gone?” I whisper, my insides feeling like they’re going to explode

“Yes! He’s gone!” She shouts laughing

I close my eyes and try to steady my breathing.
