Survivors

3 weeks later

I slowly walk down the hallway, taking the short walk to Harry’s room. I wanted to say a last goodbye before we parted ways. We hadn’t done anything except for simple kisses throughout the last 3 weeks, but. When I near his door, I knock softly. “Come in,” I hear a muffled, male voice call from the other side. I step into the room and see Harry packing some clothes in a suitcase. He was wearing. And boy would I be kidding if I said he didn’t look hot! “Hay Olive,” he said in his usual flirty tone. I blushed. He was the only one to ever call me Olive. “Hay,” I respond quietly, as I step farther into the room. “Why so quiet?” he asks as he turns his attention to me. “Nothing,” I lie and smile. I was going to miss him. I didn’t want to tell him, but I couldn’t keep my mind from thinking it. Harry nods in return. “So, when do you leave,” I ask as I take a seat in one of the chairs by his bed. “I leave in about 20 minutes,” he replies as he turns back to his suitcase and continues to throw clothes in. I just stare down at the floor. “Hay” Harry says as he suddenly turns to me, “would you like to go down to the cafeteria and get something to drink before I leave?” he finishes, and now he’s the one looking at the floor. “Like a, date,” I finally finish. He shrugs in response, but I can tell he’s trying to keep a poker face. “Sure,” I say with a bit more confidence. Now he’s the one who’s quiet. “Great,” he says as he throws his last piece of clothing in his suitcase. “Let’s go,” he says as he takes my arm and leads me out of the hospital room.

“So where will you be headed after you leave the hospitable,” I ask Harry as I sip my hot chocolate. “I’ll actually be joining the rest of the band in Paris. We were on a tour when the car accident happened. So the boys decided to stay in Paris and wait for me to get out of the hospital,” He finishes as he takes a long sip of his hot chocolate. I can only nod. “When are you leaving,” Harry asks me as he sets his cup down. “I’m leaving later today,” I say. He nods a few times before walking over to the trashcan and throwing his hot chocolate away. I quickly follow suit.

“Well I have to go,” Harry says as he takes both my hands. We are standing outside the elevators. Harry has his jacket on, his suitcase next to him, and a body guard stationed at the end of the hall. He’s ready to go. “Maybe our paths will cross again, or you could come to one of my concerts,” Harry says quietly. I just nod. My whole body feels numb. Every last inch of my skin feels ice cold, and every last muscle feels stiff. “Hay,” Harry says and pulls my chin up so that he can look at my face. I manage a small smile so that he doesn’t feel bad. He smiles back and the kisses me. It’s a soft, slow kiss that leaves me wanting more. A lot more. He slowly lets go of my hands, walking into the waiting elevator. He gives me one last small smile before the elevator blocks my view. I slowly walk down the hallway, back to my room. As soon as I sit down on the bed, the tears start flowing. And they do until I can’t cry anymore.
