Million Pound Girlfriend

"How was work?" I asked mum as she sat down next to me on some cold dreary street.
"Work?" she asked. Mum didn't really have a job. Forget the really. She had no job. She begged. She would go around asking for money saying her child needed it for food and water saying that we needed it for warmth for happiness. But I wouldn't believe we had no happiness because we did.

"As long as we have hope" We would say touching our matching necklaces. I would sometimes go with her to ask. Id rather not use the term 'Beg' it sounds too scrummy. I would go with her if I was bored. Funny. Most teenage girls would go online, send messages go to town but my idea of entertaining is asking. Watching the people ignore us and storm off to work and back home is entertaining yes. Getting a couple of quid yes. Watching the same people spit, curse and kick ...not so much. But as long as we had each other everything was perfect

"Yeah work" I replied
"Average" she replied. Average was never good. Couple of pounds, a note maybe?
Mum's phone buzzed and before you ask we grabbed it before we were forced to move out of dad's house. Gosh did I wish dad was here right now.

"Is that Zac?" I asked. She picked up the phone before putting it down instantly then gave a gentle nod "Why I cant I do it mum!" She gave me a stern look which was probably best as I couldn't be bothered for another argument. Zac was I'm the management of One Direction. Yes One Direction! I cant explain it fully but he contacted mum and offered me to be Harry Styles girlfriend? I dont know how it happened it just did. Whenever I would ask mum how she would just shrug and say we used to be friends. I guess that made sense?

I don't know why mum didn't like the idea but I certainly did! Off the streets for a whole month! A Million pounds! All just for having to cling on to his arm and holding his hands!

I decided to take matters into my own hand. I sat next to mum and held her hands
"Mum, this could be life changing! What are you so scared about? Its only for a month and you never know you might love it! They might extend the contract" Mum had a funny look on her face. I cleared my throat and said "Mum trust me!" I paused "As long as we have hope?" I said whilst holding my necklace
"As long as we have hope" she replied taking a deep breath.
