HALF A HEART

*DING DONG* *DING DONG*

The bell sounded for lunch and I collected my Pre-Calculus textbook and my notebook off my desk and crammed them into my book bag. I tried really hard not to skip out of the classroom. It had been three hours since I'd seen Harry last and I missed him....God Annie you're pathetic...3 hours....are you kidding me? KEEP IT TOGETHER!!

I slowed my pace and walked out of my classroom. My shoulders slumped when Harry wasn't outside my classroom door waiting for me...I don't even know why I expected him to be there.

I walked into the cafeteria searched the tables for Harry. I didn't know who his friends were so I could only look for him. I locked eyes with Celine and she motioned me to come sit with her.

Shit...Where the HELL was Harry? I scanned helplessly pretending I didn't see Celine. ....whereeee....whereeeee..... THERE! I saw his chocolate curls first. His head was looking around like he was looking for someone... His eyes locked with mine and he stopped and smiled. He shot up from his stool and started walking over to me.

Harry's POV

"Chill mate. You know how nasty the hall traffic can be before lunch. She'll be here." I heard Niall say as I scanned the cafeteria for Annie's soft face. I disregarded his statement with a wave of my hand and kept searching.

When I sat down at the table I had told everyone that I was bringing Annie to the movie night tonight and everyone was really happy that I was moving on from the whole incident with Celine. Eleanor was incredibly supportive and it was really nice. Louis was so damn lucky to have her.

"Ugh..." I groaned and looked in the other direction. Wait.... THERE! I locked eyes with Annie's deep blue ones and a smile spread across her face. "Finally..." I said jumping up from my chair.

"Wow he's got it bad..." I heard Liam say when I started to walk away.

"Leave him alone Liam. It's precious. I haven't seen him like this in awhile." Dani countered.

She was right...i haven't felt like this in a really long time.

I got to Annie and every ounce of my effort contributed to restraining myself from embracing her in a hug and burring my face in her neck searching for the trace of her rose and orange smelling perfume.

"Hey." She blushed. God stop making me want you...

"Hi." I smiled. Gahd 'hi?' Are you kidding me....not even Hey or...hello...or sup playa!? Gahd no...i said.... hi...... Ugh..... "C'mon everyone wants to meet you." I said turning back towards my table.

"Oh...oh okay!" She said and followed me.

We walked up to my table and all of my friends looked up at us. Louis gave me the smile he always gave me when something was going my way.

"Everyone, this is Annie. The one I was telling about." I said.

"Hi..." She waved awkwardly.

"Annie, this is Louis, Eleanor, Liam, Dani, Zayn, Perrie, and Niall." I said pointing to each as I said their name. Eleanor leaped up and grabbed Annie's hand.

"Hey Annie! Come sit next to me. It's been awhile since Harry has brought someone new to the table." She winked at Annie.

I felt my face go pale... "El..."

"What? It's true..." She shrugged. "You're coming to watch movies with us tonight right?" She asked Annie.

"Uh. Yeah if it's okay with you guys." Annie said turning a little red. I felt the corners of my mouth perk into a smile. Gahd she's so cute...

"Of course!" Perrie chirped up from the table.

I ended up sitting next to Niall across the table from Annie because El was impossible. Annie looked at me several times throughout lunch because El is the kind of person that never shuts up even if she doesn't know the person.

The rest of the day was...incredibly...boring...

Annie's POV

I got home and ran up to my room and through my book bag next to my bed. Thank goodness it was Friday ugh. I glanced at my clock. 3:30. Harry was gonna pick me up at 5:00. I walked over to my bag and pulled out my drawing book. I needed to relax a bit before going to socialize.

I started to sketch a forrest with a path winding and disappearing into the distance. I had a rough draft almost done when my mom knocked on the door.

"Come in." I said not taking my eyes off my sketchbook.

I heard my mom open the door and walk over to me. I felt her put her hand on my shoulder as she glanced at my drawing over my shoulder.

"That's beautiful." She said.

"Thanks." I said smiling up at her.

"So it's Friday babe you should go out."

"Oh. Yeah Harry asked me to go to a movie night with his group of friends tonight."

"Oh! Thats awesome Annie! I really like him hon." She said.

"Yeah....i really like him too. I just dont feel like I know him very well."

"Well no. But that's why you hang out with him. What time are you leaving?"

"Harry's picking me up at 5:00." I glanced at the clock. 4:57 "Shiiiiiit! Mom i gotta grab some things!" I said and jumped up from my chair.

"Have fun sweetie." My mom said and left my room.

I ran into my bathroom and brushed my teeth and fluffed my hair. When I checked my phone Harry had texted me.

From Harry: Hey Annie(: I'll be by to pick you up in a few minutes.

I ran to my window and glanced down at my driveway. Harry was standing outside of his car looking up at me. I waved at him and ran and got my purse. I sprayed more of my perfume on my chest and stumbled down the stairs.

"Bye Mom!" I yelled.

I through the door open and literally ran into Harry. He must have walked over to the door after I left the window.

"Well hey." He said, standing me back up again. "Ready?"

"Yeah!"

"Well c'mon." He walked over to the passenger side door and opened it for me.

We drove in silence for a little while and then my mom's Annual White Party popped into my head.

"Hey so my mom has this Annual White Party each year...well...duh. Hence on the 'annual'" oh my gosh Annie you idiot.... Harry chuckled.

"Yeah?"

"And...well I want you to come." I looked at him and saw his mouth twitch into a smile.

He turned to look at me, "I'd love to Annie. When is it?"

"Next month."

"Yeah I'll come."

"Good! Okay so it's called a white party for a reason. You have to wear all white."

"No problem." He smiled at me again.

We pulled into a driveway. I figured it was El's. Harry came around to the passenger door and opened it for me.

We walked inside and we were instantly overcome by El...

"Harry!" She screamed. "Come help me! Louis doesn't know how to do this and make it look good!"

He laughed, "Alright El. What do you need help with?"

She started dragging him towards a door. "C'mon Annie!"

We walked through a door and the smell of freshly baked cupcakes wafted into my nose.

"Here!" El said and handed Harry a container of frosting and a spreading knife.

"Oh El. Please tell me you didn't ask Louis to do this..."

"Of course I did! I needed help!!"

"Alright alright. I got this. You go greet everyone else." He said.

"Thanks Harry! You're the best!" She kissed his cheek, skipped over to me and squeezed my arm as she walked out of the kitchen.

I looked back at Harry and he had a chocolate cupcake in hand and was frosting it with the steadiest hand. He was actually REALLY good at this...

He must've seen me staring at him and he smiled at me while keeping the frosting still looking professional. "I've been working at a bakery for a couple years."

"Ah. Well that makes a ton more sense."

"Do you wanna frost a couple?" He asked looking back at me again.

"Uh....no....i'd probably butcher it." I laughed.

"Alright." He chuckled.

It took Harry probably all of ten minutes to frost some 30 cupcakes. He licked his fingers and ran his hands under the sink water. Gahd these cupcakes looked like freaking masterpieces. He dried his hands on the towel and walked back over to me...

"C'mon. They're probably arguing over which movie to watch."

We walked out of the kitchen and exactly that was happening. The exact same group from the lunch table today now occupied El's living room.

"Let's watch Driver." Louis suggested.

"Ew. Babe no." El said.

"We could waaaaatch.... Grown ups?" Niall said.

"Noooo." Zayn said.

"Love Actually guys....Love Actually." Harry said beside me. I looked up at him. Holy shit. He was being totally serious.

"C'mon Haz..." Liam rolled his eyes.

"Fine. Titanic." He said.

"Annie. If you haven't realized. Harry is probably the biggest hopeless romantic you will ever meet." Louis said to me.

"Oh shut up mate. They're good films!!" He countered.

"I'd be okay with Titanic." Perrie said.

"Yep me too." Dani piped in.

"Ughhhh." Louis fell back onto the pillow that was behind him. "Harry what have you done?!" He moaned.

"A good deed." Harry smiled proud of himself.

Harry went to the sea of pillows that covered the living room floor. All of the furniture had been pushed back to make room for everyone to lay on the floor. Harry plopped down and made himself comfortable. He looked up at me with his emerald eyes.

"C'mon." He smiled.

I went over to him and laid down on the pillows next to Harry and positioned myself so I could see the TV. Everyone laid down as El put Titanic in. I ended up falling asleep around the part where Jack was being accused of taking the necklace. All of a sudden i felt someone shaking my shoulder and whispering my name.

"See even your date fell asleep mate. So you had a shitty movie pick."

"Ah shut up Lou." Harry said above me. "And she's not my date. We're just friends. She wants to move slow so that's what I'm doing." He explained. Ugh he's so amazing.

I stretched and propped myself up on my elbows.

"Morning sunshine." Harry chuckled. He stood up and offered his hand to help me up. I took it and he hoisted me into a standing position.

"Wow sorry." I yawned, "jet lag must still be biting my ass. I love this movie."

"See? I told you Lou."

"C'mon guys!" El called from the kitchen.

The three of us strolled into the kitchen and everyone was sitting at the island devouring the cupcakes Harry had frosted.

Harry handed me one and I took it willingly. I peeled off the paper cup and took a bite. The pastry was incredibly moist and there was a perfect amount of frosting. Harry looked at me and i chuckled. He had frosting on his nose from the bite he had taken.

"What?" He asked through the bite in his mouth.

I shook my head and grabbed a napkin off the counter. I turned back towards him and wiped the frosting off his nose and laughed. Oh he's so cute.

"Oh." He chuckled, his cheeks turning pink.

I looked back at the rest of the group having their own conversations. El was looking at me and winked. I felt my own cheeks turn pink. I glanced at the clock and it said 10:45.

"Do you need to get home?" Harry asked me. He must have seen me check the clock.

"Yeah. I don't want my mom to worry."

"Alright no problem at all. Guys I have to take Annie home. I'll see you tomorrow gents. My house. We have to practice before our gig next week."

"No problem Harry." Niall said.

"Yep see you tomorrow." Liam added.

"Bye Annie! It was really nice getting to see you again!" Perrie came over and gave me hug.

"Thanks! Bye guys!"

We turned around and walked outside towards Harry's car. He jogged ahead of me and opened my door for me.

"Hey by the way. You should come to our gig next week." Harry said on the drive back to my house.

"Yeah sure. I'd love to. Just text me the details okay? So what do you guys do?"

"We're a band called One Direction. We just play at a few coffee shops and clubs though."

"Oh I didn't know you could sing!"

He laughed. "Yeah I do. So do the other 4 guys."

"No kidding!"

We pulled into my driveway and he opened my door for me again. We walked up to my front door...

"Bye Annie. Thanks for going."

"Thanks for inviting me. It's nice to know other people."

"Alright well. Goodnight. I'll see you later." He said.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a hug. "Bye Harry." I whispered.

He smiled at me, "Bye Annie." He turned around, got in his car and drove a few houses down to his own driveway.

I went upstairs and crashed on my bed and fell asleep. It was going to be really hard to "get to know him better" and not constantly want to just kiss him....ugh.... Well one thing was true... London was growing on me... A lot....

Hey guys!! I noticed that I had gotten 5 ratings earlier today but because I am in two AP classes that means I have hw over Christmas Break so I couldn't update right away!! Sorry!! But now I am done!!! WHOOO!!!! :D
