The Protectors

I woke up to the song "pumped up kicks"- by Foster the People. My alarm was going of telling me it was time to get up and get ready for my first day of school. I'm extremely nervous what if no one likes me? What if I fall or embarrass myself? I push the bad thoughts to the back of my head, so I can get ready. I walk into my closet and go through everything. All though I was never very popular at my old school, my fashion has always been on point. When my mom was alive she used to call me her "little fashionista". Today I was feeling a 50's vibe, maybe I was channeling my idol Audrey Hepburn. I giggle at the thought, but anyway I decided on this http://www.polyvore.com/kays_50_vibe_first_day/set?id=109048471 . After I set my cloths out on my bed, I went down the hall to the kitchen and got a granola bar and a strawberry kiwi Snapple. I walked back to my room and took my laptop out and went on tumblr, while I ate my granola bar. when I finished my granola I poop open my Snapple and flip the lid and read my fact aloud "a Venus fly trap can consume a whole cheese burger" oh wow how interesting I think as I sip my Snapple. I get up and walk over to a jar with hundreds of Snapple lids inside I mindlessly slip in the new one. I know its strange that I have a collection of Snapple lids, but i love the facts.... and the Snapple is my favorite, I have one every morning which explains the hundreds of lids. Any way I continue to get ready, I walk over to my vanity and plug my phone into my little pink dock and turn on Pandora "fix you"-by Coldplay is on which helps calm my nerves because its my favorite song. After I finish my makeup I brush my hair out and that's all because I straightened it last night. I get dressed and head back to the kitchen to find my dad "hello darling" "hey dad, how am I getting to school?" I ask "ill bring you, you got all your stuff?" he asks " yeah I just have to brush my teeth and ill be right out." I say "ok ill be in the car." I go back to my room brush my teeth, grab my phone and backpack and run outside to meet my dad by the car.

The ride to school took about 5 minutes. He parks in front of the school "do you want me to come in with you to get your schedule?" he asks sweetly "no thanks, I got this." I say. He hands me 5 dollars for lunch, the second I step out of the car everyone in front of the school is staring at me and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. I walk into the school and the first thing I see is the office, I walk in and up to the secretary, she looks up at me with an annoyed look on her face "can I help you?" she asks me rudely "umm yeah, its my first day and I was wondering were I would go to pick up my schedule?" I ask politely "name?" "Kay Smith" I answer awkwardly "would you like me to escort you to your first class?" she asks me with no emotion, I'm guessing her showing me to my first class is part of her job because I don't think if it wasn't she would have asked me "yes please" I say. The walk to my class with her is painfully awkward. "here we are" she says. We walk in and the bell rang about 5 minutes ago so its already a full class. I see a short sweet looking women walking toward me and says "hello I'm miss Kelly ill be your Bio/Chem teacher, what is your name?" she asks "Kay Smith" I say quietly being sure not to bring more attention to myself. She turns to the class " everybody this is Kay she will be joining our class i expect everyone to be kind and to help her catch up." she says. By now my cheeks must be bright red. She turns to me "in this class we have lab partners you can sit with Maggie or Luke." she tells me I look up and see a blond girl smiling at me, that must be Maggie. I look over and a cute boy but he is really intimidating with lots of tattoos and a lip and nose ring he must be Luke. He scares me a bit so decide to sit with Maggie. I put my on the table and hop up on the stool "hey I'm Maggie!" she says excitedly, I smile "hey I'm Kay" I reply "is Kay your full name?" she ask "yeah my mom said she like it because it was simple and beautiful." Class went by fast, me and Maggie talked the whole time we soon found out that we have almost every class together. Now its lunch time and I'm starving. When we are walking into the lunch room Maggie turns to me "come on you have to meet Cally." she says excitedly and drags me to a table were is see a beautiful girl with long brown hair, I assume that is Cally. "Cally!" Maggie calls "meet Kay" she says "Hey Kay!" Cally says "Hey Cally!" I with a smile and put my bag on the table and go up to the lunch line with Maggie and Cally. Lunch is over now and Maggie and Cally are walking me to my next class which is art. Its the first class today I have with out Maggie. We say our good byes out side of the class. Soon I'm walking into the room when my eyes land on the to intimidating boys covered in tattoos that walked by my house yesterday. The only available seat in the room is on the side of the blond boy, I forgot what his name was but right in front of him is the boy with curly brown hair. I walk over and sit on the side of the boy with blond hair, they are talking about some party but when they notice my presence they both look up at me and I look down at my thumbs "hey " I look up to see the blond boy just in time to catch him wink at me and then look away. Just then the teacher walks in just in time to save me from my embarrassment of my flaming pink cheeks. They go back to talking about there party and I zone out thinking about how the blond boy winked at me. Soon class is over which means school is over I walk out of class and find Maggie and Cally waiting for me outside the class "hey" they both say at the same time "hi" I say with a smile "do you want a ride home?" Cally asks me "yeah, id love that" I say as we are walking out of the school and into the parking lot, when some slutty looking girl and all of her friends come walking up to us "oh looks like the slags got a new ugly bitch to hang around" she says I take a step back offended by her words. "excu-" just as Cally was about to flip out someone from behind me says "Jemma stop being such a jealous bitch" I turn around to see that Luke boy.....well two of him. "what is there to be jealous of they are all just annoying bitches" she says "first of all they are not slags" he points to Maggie and Call. "second of all she is not in any way ugly" he says as he points to me "whatever" she says and walks away. I turn to him "wow thanks for that" I say "no problem beautiful" he says and I blush he winks at me then walks away with who I assume is his twin brother.

On the way to my house Maggie and Cally tell me about some party they want me to go to with them "so will you come" Cally asks as we arrive outside my house "Its tomorrow?" I ask "yeah, it will be fun, please come?" Maggie asks "fine but you two have to come over tomorrow before the party to help me get ready" I say "fine" they both agree as I get out of the car "ok see you tomorrow" I say and start walking away. I soon notice the two boys from art staring at me with three other goy I don't recognize. I act like I don't notice them and keep walking until I get to the door, when I open the door I immediately recognize the smell of alcohol, i know my father is either drinking or passed out some were. I pray that he is passed out because when he is drunk he gets angry. The second I close the door he is storming down the hall, his face is beet red, instantly I'm up against the wall "WHY ARE YOU FUCKING LATE?' he yells at me, I easily push him off he is so drunk he just stumbles I storm past him and shut and lock my door. Just when I thought I was having a good day I come home to this.
