Still the One

Chapter nine

Charlotte's POV:

Had that really just happened? Not again! No, not me and Harry. Our lips so close. No, this can't be right - were like enemies, or we were I guess. Sat on the end of my bed I was so confused, I mean a few days ago I couldn't stand the sight of him, and now we are locking lips! What's going on? I looked over at the clock on the bedside table, 7:04pm. Sighing, I got up and grabbed my coat; I needed some space to think. Downstairs, my parents are watching Lord of the Rings or something on full volume . Usually, the house is silent, but the one time I need quiet, well it's impossible to think.

As as I walked out of my front door, I felt the cold wind blow against my face. Normally, I don't like the cold, but today it just made me feel refreshed. I decided to go for a walk in the town centre, and go grab a coffee to get my head together. I took my iPod out from my pocket and began playing 'Give Me Love' by Ed Sheeren. The song is so soothing, and helped me to relax as I walked down the main road. I stopped outside the new shop 'Cafe 21', which seemed quite retro and vintage so I went in. As I walked in, I saw that there was only an old couple, and a young woman who looked as though she had just finished work in the whole shop, providing me with a perfect place to think. When I approached the counter, I told the server, who seemed as though she was in her late twenties, my order and then went to sit at a table next to the window. I sat down with my head in my hands, not knowing what to do. Soon the tears were threatening to fall as I thought of all that has happened today. I didn't want to feel this way, I shouldn't feel this way, but I just can't help it.

"A regular Mocha-latte for you ma'am." A voice said over my head, which was pressed against the table I was sat at.

"Oh, sorry, thank you." I said, lifting my head up to discover a young guy, most likely 16, stood infront of me. I quickly wiped my eyes as I don't need anyone else judging me before they even know my name.

"Oh, sweetie, are you alright?" He asked, sitting down next to me and pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I'm fine." I said looking down at the floor; I didn't want this man to see me crying.

"You're obviously not! Here come on, let me get you some cake on the house, you look like you could use some cheering up! I'm Johnny by the way." He said walking over to the cake counter. The cafe was now empty apart from me.

"Thanks that's really kind of you. I'm Charlotte." I said looking at him as he walked back towards the table with two pieces of lemon cake in his hands. Wow. I'd never actually had a proper look at him yet, but he looks like every girl's dream boy: a dark brown quiff, which compliment his rich brown eyes perfectly. He's like someone girls would stare at for hours on Tumblr.

"So, what brings you here in tears? If it's personal you don't have to say, I totally understand. I just don't like seeing a beautiful girl crying." He said smiling as he handed me a piece of lemon cake and a fork.

"Just school and things like that I suppose." I said taking a sip of my latte. Johnny was so adorable, but the last thing I wanted to be thinking about was boys after the whole Harry drama today. We both sat talking to each other for what seemed like no time at all, and to my surprise, he was really easy to talk to. We both seemed to so many things in common, and before we knew it, it was 9pm.

"I better get going; my parents will be wondering where I am." I said, standing up and putting my coat on. I could see the disappointment in his eyes after I'd said that. Why would he be disappointed? To most peoe he is one of the hottest boys ever, but I'm not looking for anyone. I mean me and Harry, ugh, we have a little bit in common, but he's just so different to me in so many other ways!

"Oh, of course! I'd love to be able to see you again Charlotte?" Johnny said, looking into my eyes. Wow, his eyes glisten in the light.

"I'd like that too." I said, pushing my hair behind my ears, unsure of whether I did want to see again or not. I mean I was still in shock and debating about the situation between me and Harry. We both exchanged numbers and soon he shut the shop, and we were both stood outside.

"Do you want a lift home? It's freezing out here, and I can't let such a beautiful girl walk home alone at this time of night." Gosh, he was such a gentleman!

"I'd love one thanks." I said, tightening the belt on my coat - he's right, it is freezing out here! He took my hand and lead me round to the black Audi parked in the car park behind the shop. He took me round to the passenger side and helped me in. He is so polite and kind. Wait, what am I saying? I like Harry, wait, no I don't! I don't like anyone.

The he drive normally only takes 5 minutes, so we were there before we knew it. As he pulled up, I glanced at the time and realised it was 9:47pm - my parents are going to be so worried!

"Thanks again for the lift!" I was hoping to feel some sort of a connection between us but there was nothing.

When i got in, my parents were still watching the film so I could sneak upstairs unnoticed.

I got in bed and just cried, before checking my phone. 16 missed calls and 12 texts from Harry. Oh no this can't be good.
