Still the One
Chapter twenty-one
Harry's POV:
It's just me and Charlotte left now as Sophie had to go home about five minutes ago, leaving us with a perfect opportunity to find out more about each other.
"Do you want to play X or Y?" I asked her, hoping she knew this game, it's something I used to play with my sister when I was younger.
"Um, what's that?" Darn. Well, I guess I'll just have to explain it to her.
"Well, one of us simply asks a question like: glass half full or half empty? And then the other answers with the choice they prefer. Easy right?"
"Okay, I suppose we don't actually know anything about each other do we?"
"No we don't, and I'm intrigued by the interesting life of Charlotte Stanley."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now you go first!"
"Okay, glass half full or half empty?" I just went with the example question to start off with.
"Glass half full, well I try to think like that anyway, but sometimes I can't help but be pessimistic."
"Yeah, same."
"Present or future, Harry?"
"Um... That's a hard one. I think I'm going to have to go for present as we've got to live while we're young as we don't know what the futures going to throw at us. If we spent our lives worried about the future, we'll wake up one day, regretting that we didn't take every opportunity we had." Okay, I didn't even realise that I felt so strongly about the subject; I'd never even given it a thought before just then.
"Yeah, but what if living for the present means that we can't get the job we wanted, the job we needed to raise enough money, then we'd regret our choices and wish we'd thought about what we were doing with our life."
"Charlotte, a smart girl like you has nothing to worry about! And just because we'll be having fun doesn't mean we have to forget about education." It's true, I want to have fun, but I understand the importance of having a good education. "Anyway, your question now! Sun or snow?"
"Sun all the way! Snows just so cold and I've never seen the attraction."
"Have you never been sledging or had a snowball fight?" I asked surprised of her answer. Even though most of the time I prefer sun, sometimes I like snow more as you can have so much fun with your friends!
"No. My parents never took me as a child, and Sophie hates the cold so I didn't have anyone to go with."
Notes
Hey guys! I'm really sorry about the lack of updates, but school started back so I didn't have as much time and there was no feedback so, because I'm not very confident with myself, I began to think that no one liked the story anymore.
But I'm back now and I'll update again.
