She Stole My Heart
Chapter 1
Julia's POV
"Turn up the radio!" yelled my best friend Sam. "I love this song!" I blasted "Story of My Life" and we sang along, too-loud and off-key. Not like it mattered. The song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" popped in my mind and I smiled. It's true after all. Sam stuck her head out the window of our new car and waved to the people on the sidewalks. Most smiled at her, and some waved back. A group of guys whooped and laughed. She stuck her head back in the car. "Ok, so I'm thinking at the mall, we head to that cute makeup shop we found last time, because I really need some brown eyeliner."
"Ok" I responded.
"Then we can go clothes shopping for a bit and have lunch."
"Sounds good." I said.
"Kk!" she said and took out her phone.
"Story of My Life" ended so I turned down the radio. After a while, Sam spoke up.
"Hey! Guess what!"
"Yes?"
"Google News said that One Direction has been spotted in this area!"
I perked up a bit. Then reality set in.
"It sounds great, but its probably just scam. Some girl probably saw a Liam-look-alike duck into a restaurant."
"Well, I think we should look for them" she insisted.
"Nah, I'm telling you, it's not real."
She pouted and made puppy dog eyes at me. I smiled and sighed.
"Here, tell ya what. After the mall, we can drive around for a bit."
"Yay!" she cried.
"But I'm not going far and I'm telling you right now you're not going to find them."
"Ok..... If that's what you think. But I think it's worth a shot." She reached in her purse and grabbed a pack of gum.
"You want?" she asked.
"Sure, thanks." I said and grabbed the gum, popping it in to my mouth.
"Yum! What flavor is this?"
"Tropical Twist."
"It's good!" She nodded in agreement. While I was driving, my mind wandered a bit. How cool would it be if we saw One Direction!? I am such a fan of them. I know all their songs, watched all their interviews, made numerous fan pages, and more. Same with Sam. How amazing would it be if we actually me them!? I would die! I laughed softly. The chances are like one in a billion. Why would it happen to us? I sighed. Oh, well. It's nice to imagine. Then I heard Sam (squeal or gasp?). "Good or bad?" I asked.
Ignoring my question, she yelled,"Oh my gosh! Three people have said One Direction are in a car chase! The paparazzi are apparently being really aggressive! Their body guards couldn't even hold them back! They ran to the car and are getting chased!"
At first I thought Sam was just trying to fool me. "Ya, ok Sam." I said rolling my eyes. "Stop being silly."
"No Julia! I'm not joking! I promise!"
I could tell with her tone she was serious. "Ohmygosh!" I yelled in one word. "You're serious?! What's happening? Where? I need info!"
Scrolling rapidly through her phone, she spat jumbled words at me. "Ugggg!" I sighed, frustrated. She can't speak clear when she's nervous or talking too fast. After a minute or so of inaudible speaking, I finally reached a red light. I pushed hard on the brake and grabbed her phone. I started scrolling and clicking but the light turned green before I could find anything. I pushed on the brake and focused. I always hated intersections. They scared me. I shot a quick glace in the rear view mirror and then to the right. I always wanted to be aware of my surroundings when I'm at intersections. What happened next was so fast I barley had enough time to breathe. But it felt like slow motion. I turned to my right and my eyes widened when I saw possibly the most unexpected thing in my life, and I once saw a flash mob of just old ladies. I guess you could say was pretty stunned when I saw the large slick black range rover speeding towards me. But I was even more surprised when I saw who the driver was.
I was looking into the wide and panicked eyes of Harry Styles.
