Shattered

Angelica's P.O.V-

I opened it and was met by none other than Harry Styles. Oh fuck. I'm not ready, I, I, I...... I was interrupted by him waving a hand in front of me. I cleared my throat and smiled weakly.

"Hey, uh, what brings you here?" I asked awkwardly. For a moment I forgot about all the walls I spent the last year building up, all the manners and personalities I used to hide myself. Everything just crumbled the moment he smiled and answered with a single word.

"You" He said, grinning as if he was the happiest man alive. I gulped and nodded slowly, choosing to ignore this situation and just move on.

"Would you like to come in, or?" I ask. He smiled and nods. I move aside and let him in. All I can think of is that he's probably going to dump me just like he did a year ago. 'It was a mistake'....

"You can sit down if you want to, or just stand up.... I don't know" I said. Oh wow! Splendid job Angelica! Absolutely splendid! Really? 'You can sit if you want to'? Who the hell says that?!

Harry chuckled, making me chuckle nervously. We sat down on the couch, and for some odd reason, we started talking as if we were best friends. I felt comfortable around him, I laughed, joked, and even leaned into him a few times. We talked about anything and everything, which if you think about, doesn't make any sense, because he would say something and then I'd remember about a funny story and tell him then we'd sit laughing for a good five minutes or more! Right now, we were joking about.... I don't know! See?! I can't even keep track!

"You're such a whimp!" I laughed after he told me a stupid story of his.

"Am not!" He protested, pouting. Cute. Stop!

"Are too!" I stuck my tongue out and laughed.

"Am not!" He said louder but still joking. I wonder how Jake is sleeping through all this... But then again only an earthquake could wake that boy! Sheesh!

"Prove it!" I teased. What he did next was totally and utterly unexpected. He stood up quickly, almost falling. What?

I stood up as well, for no apparent reason. He began inching closer and closer to me. I obviously, began backing away and trying to find ways to escape. What if he decides to tackle me and tickle me to my death?! I have a child to take care of! He continued getting closer and closer, until my back hit the wall. He placed one arm on each side of my head, trapping me completely. I gulped and tried ducking underneath his arms to run, but he caught me by the waist and pushed me against the wall, it wasn't a hard impact, but it still hurt a bit. I winced a bit and his face, which was pretty damn serious, softened. I tried again but he just caught me again and this time gently pushed me against the wall.

"Please" He pleaded. I didn't understand at first, but when he began leaning in I almost panicked and ran for it. I looked back to see him angered and hurt. He looked angry, but he also looked sad and crushed. He sighed heavily and went towards the hanger to retrieve his coat and his shoes. I stood still, waiting for him to make the first move. Apparently, so was he, because after five minutes of staring into each other's eyes intently, he left.

At first I wouldn't believe what I had just done, but then I began feeling hurt and pained, and reality finally hit me. I rejected him. I, who presumably love him, am the reason he left. I cause that misery in his eyes, the hurt. I'm the one to blame this time. My lips parted, but no sound came out. I need to go after him.

"You know, you guys should be together, he could be my dad!" Jake's voice said. I looked up towards the stairs and indeed there he was, with our puppy close beside him. He was smiling tiredly. Poor thing.

"Did we wake you up?" I asked, feeling guilty.

"Yup! But I don't care! You need to go after him, mommy!" Jake smiled big this time, almost determined to convince me. I nodded once and ran up the stairs to engulf him in a bone crushing hug.

"Thank you!" I whispered.

"Don't thank me yet, you need to go after him, now!" He pushed me. I laughed but agreed. I was still in my comfy outfit, so I decided to just grab a coat and run after him. I put on the coat and the shoes, open the door, close it quickly and start sprinting after him. He's almost halfway to his car by now.

"Harry!" I called. He turned around, surprised a bit. I was puffing and huffing, and almost having a heart attack. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I'm a bit scared and breathless right now.

"Yes?" He asked coldly once I reached him. I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. Am I doing the right thing? Or... Just then it began raining. Not just a soft rain, or a few droplets, oh no! The whole damn ocean was pouring on us. Great! Notice my sarcasm.

"Okay, that wasn't planned" He laughed. I chuckled nervously and prepare for what I was going to say. Was I ready for it? Hell no! Was I sure of what I was about to say? Hell yes!

"Please, just listen, okay?" I asked, closing my eyes then opening them. He nodded and motioned for me to continue. I took a long and deep breath.

"I-I.... I love you" I said, looking him directly in the eyes. His face was of shock and surprise.

"Really?" He asked, a bit breathless.

"Yeah" I breathed out a laugh. He chuckled happily and then, as if I had no control over my body, I just leaned in and kissed him. In the middle of the RAIN! Wanna know the best part?......... He kissed back....
