Angelica's P.O.V-

"Have fun! Learn lots of new things!" I called after Jake, waving as he walked into his school. Recess was over for him now since Monday, and he's half happy half sad. He's starting to get annoyed at the homework, ha-ha.

I drove back home and decided to clean up a bit, then I'd start my researches. UNI wont start until February, and after I explained to them my situation as a single mother and a bit of my past and present, they allowed me a free month so I could decide what I wanted to do. So after I clean, I'll start looking up a few courses that I might be interested in.

Once I was done cleaning the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom and the bedrooms, I headed back to my room. I decided I'd have a shower first, to freshen up and get ready to start searching what could be my future. I hope. I chose a simple outfit and took a quick shower, heading back to my room wrapped in my towel.

"I need to change" I said, looking at myself in the mirror.

"If I continue looking the same, the guys might find me, and I don't want that right now, do I?" I questioned myself, putting a finger to my chin and putting my other hand on my hips.

A smirk made it's way to my face. I threw the outfit I had picked out back into the closet and got out a different one. I put on my underwear and began walking around my room, searching for things I might need. Notebook, check. Pens and pencils, check. Coloring pencils, check. Glasses, check. Yes, I wear glasses. Sorry, forgot to mention. Anyway...

I began sketching and coloring. A few lines here, to add movement. A few shades here to add depth. A bit of color here and there just for the fun of it. No. Not good. I ripped the page out and began again. Lines, shades, color.... No. Rip. Start over. This went on for at least an hour or so, until I got frustrated and gave up. I stood up and sat on my desk, staring at the computer screen intently, thinking. Finally an idea came up and I typed: different styles. I clicked on a random link and began reading. It still didn't help me much.

I gave up a bit, and started searching for courses. I clicked on a few from a list I found and began reading. A few caught my attention, such as hair styling, makeup, fashion, those types. They involved arts, a bit of history, but mostly creativity. I read more and more. In the end I had written a small list:

-Fashion;
-Hair Styling;
-History;
-Psychology;
-Makeup;
-Visual arts.

I'd have to choose them afterwards, right now, I have other things to do. I got up and grabbed my bag, my wallet, sunglasses and keys. I walked downstairs, went out, locked the door, got in the car and sped away.

"May I help you?" A girl asked me. I smiled at her and nodded.

"I want to change, but I have no idea which style to choose..." I trailed off hoping she would get the hint.

"Yeah, it can be kinda tricky" She said, her accent thick. It was also Irish, and it reminded me of Niall. I cut my thoughts short when she began walking me down isles and isles of clothes. I was in the mall, at a shop called, Forever 21 was it? Yeah, I think that's it's name.

"I don't know if we'll find everything you want in one shop, but we can try" She giggled. I smiled and nodded following her.

"What exactly do you like wearing? I know you want to change styles, but I can't help you if I don't know your previous style..." She giggled.

"Well, I'm more used to comfort and jeans basically" I told her truthfully. She nodded.

"And what style do you want to change to?" She asked.

"I want something totally different. Since I'm more into comfort and baggy clothes, I was thinking something more feminine, but not too many dresses. Something cute but not sparkly or anything that shines" I listed.

"How about something more vintage like? Flowery, simple, comfy and feminine at the same time" She suggested. I thought about it for a second.

"Sounds great actually" She smiled, linked arms with me and skipped down the isles. We chatted and I found out her name's Alexandra, but she prefers Alex. She's 20 years old, and is finishing her fashion course. She's even applied as co-stylist for some band. We chatted some more and became friends, but not close friends, just friends, for now. I didn't tell her about my past. She didn't ask, and honestly, I don't like talking about it.

"Hey! Guess what?!" She suddenly asks me after checking her watch.

"What?!" I ask excitedly.

"MY SHIFT'S OVER!" She squealed. I laughed and we skipped out of the store. I already had a few bags in my hands. She took me to a hair salon, since I had no idea where it was... Yeah... I need to work on being a girl, seriously... Anyways... Back to the hair salon.

"What would you like?" The hairdresser said. It was almost empty, except for the workers and two ladies doing their toe nails and laughing with each other.

"Uh, honestly, I don't know..." I trailed off awkwardly. Alex face-palmed and rolled her eyes.

"She wants a whole new look. She's not one bit feminine, she doesn't style her hair much, she doesn't wear makeup, she doesn't like dresses for some reason. HELP HER!!!" Alex listed, and shouted the last bit at the lady's face... Great job, Alex! Great job!

"GIRLS! WE NEED THE MAKEOVER TEAM! PRONTO!" The lady yelled. She looked back at me and I'm sure I had a horrified face on. She gave me a toothy smile and led me to a chair, saying I wouldn't regret anything. Not so sure about that....

They soon began working. A guy was giving me a pedicure, an older looking lady was giving me a manicure. The lady that talked to us was washing my hair, while a younger girl was rubbing my face with something moist and dewy. Not to mention someone was plucking my eyebrows. Oh, did I mention they wouldn't let me see what they were doing? Yeah.... Scary, I know.

"Are you guys done yet?!" I whined. So far, they have: plucked my eyebrows; dyed my hair and curled it; gave me a manicure and a pedicure; done my makeup; waxed my legs, arm pits and, uh, private areas (which hurt, A LOT!); and changed my outfit about three times. They burned my original ones... Makeovers are officially scary, traumatizing and painful.

"Yes!" Mrs. Lamont, the owner of the hair salon and also the lady that talked to us when we came in, said, shedding a tear. I wonder what's all the drama about...

"Oh my gosh...." Alex whispered, gasping slightly.

"It's not that bad, is it?" I asked, worried now.

"Just shut up and turn around" Alex ordered, still in aw.

I did as told and slowly turned around, scared of what I might see. Once I was facing the mirror I gasped. My hair and makeup were done to perfection. My outfit was absolutley gorgeous. My nails were the cutest thing ever. But what really surprised me, is that I loved it. Every bit. From the colors, to the style, everything. I felt beautiful. Powerful even. I felt new. And let me tell you, it felt incredible...

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so so so much! How much do I owe you?" I asked, hugging Mrs. Lamont tightly. She laughed and hugged back.

"It's on the house! We can tell you've been through a lot, don't worry, next time you come here I'll charge you" She let go and winked. I laughed and hugged her again, thanking her over and over.

"We best get going, you have some shop downtown to visit!" Alex beamed. I laughed and nodded, picking up my bags and walking out of the mall with her. We go in my car and I left the bags in the trunk, and drove away to where she was telling me to go. It was kind of an old street, with lots of old looking buildings and stuff. We got out and I locked my car as usual, walking into a shop Alex went in. It was a second-handed store.

"If you're gonna be vintage, better stick with the whole character" She winked. I smiled and thanked her for her help.

"You have no idea how helpful you've been!" I said hugging her. She laughed and patted my back, breaking the hug.

"Let's look around yeah?" She suggested. I squealed and dragged her around the store, chaging roles for once.

By the end of the day, I had a whole new wordrobe, a new attitude, a new style, a new friend and an idea of what I want to do in UNI. I can't wait for my life to officially begin...
