Catch Me, If You Can

I looked in the mirror. And wondered how I was so lucky to have a famous singer as a sister. We both had the same eyes. But, nothing else was really similar. People never believed me when I told them Perrie Edwards was my sister.
“Mary, you need to get ready for school. You don’t want to be late.” Perrie said, standing by me. I nodded.
“I was just brushing my hair. That’s it.” This was the first time in a while that she’s been home. She smiled.
“Zayn and I are taking you. We have something to talk to you about.” I nodded. Zayn arrived late last night when we were watching movies together. You should have seen Perrie’s face. He likes to call me Little Directioner because of how I reacted when he showed up. I remember fighting with him. Saying I was seventeen, almost eighteen. Not twelve.
“Okay.” She left. And I started applying my makeup. Just like she taught me. I went into my room, and put on my skinny jeans, crop top, and my leather jacket. I slipped on a cute pair of combat boots. And checked it in the mirror. Then, I grabbed my bag, and left the room. I slid down the banister, and landed on my feet.
“Mary Jayn Edwards!” My mum yelled. “No sliding down the banister!”
“Sorry, mum.” I went into the kitchen.
“Hey, Little Directioner.”
“Its Mary. You know, as in Mary the virgin?”
“Whatever you say, LD.” I rolled my eyes. He just laughed. Perrie handed me a glass of orange juice and a plate of scrambled eggs.
“Thanks.” I sat at the table by Perrie. I took a sip.
“Mary, do you have your permission slip?” My mum asked. I nodded.
“Yep. Its in my bag.” I said.
“You sure?”
“Double, triple, quadruple sure.”
“Check it, then at least I’LL know its in there.” I opened my bag. And searched frantically. Perrie held in front of me.
“Double, triple, quadruple sure, huh?” I have a habit of losing things. If you haven’t noticed.
“Shut up. Thanks.” Zayn shook his head.
“Well, we better get going. Put that in a safe place.” Perrie said. We got up, and headed for the car. We got into Zayn’s. Which was, surprisingly, clean. He started the car, and we drove off.
“So, you said you guys had something to talk to me about?” I asked. They looked at each other, and smiled. Zayn looked at the mirror at me.
“I asked your sister to marry me.” My eyes went wide. Perrie was smiling, “I’ll be your new brother-in-law.” I looked out the window.
“You what?” I asked.
“We’re getting married!” Perrie yelled. I was silent. They looked worried.
“I’ll say okay if you stop calling me little directioner.” I said. He laughed.
“I’ll marry her no matter what you say.”
“I’m joking. Go ahead. Perrie's happier with you anyway.”
“I thought I was always happy.”
“Not as happy as you are now. And nicer.” She shook her head.
“Well, I’ll be picking you up after school.” Zayn said.
“Really, why?” I asked.
“To get to know each other. And you're mum and Perrie have something to plan.”
“So you're on babysitting duty.” I said, mischievously.
“Mary Jayn. Be nice to him.” Perrie warned. I laughed.
“Since when have I ever misbehaved?” She raised an eyebrow.
“You should know the answer to that.” I laughed.
“Don’t worry. I actually like this guy.”
“What do you mean by actually?” I looked out the window. Zayn turned up the radio. I started laughing at the song that came on. Marry You came on.
“Perfect timing!” I yelled. We all laughed. And sang the lyrics. We arrived at my school, and I hopped out.
“I’m also picking up our sister tomorrow.” Perrie said. She’s been at some camp for a while. Haven’t seen her in what seems like forever!
“Great!” I yelled. She smiled.
“Bye, M.J. That’s what everyone calls me. I like it. Its better than Little Direction.
“See ya. Congrats, by the way.” She smiled.
“Bye, Little Directioner.” I rolled my eyes, and headed inside.
