Darkness

AUDREY'S POINT OF VIEW
Harry took my hand and we started heading towards the door. He kept me close to him - this made me want to trust him. As we got out his eyes pointed towards his black ferarri.
He opened the passenger seat door for me and let me in first then he got in and lit the ignition.The boom of the engine was powerful , he didn't seem to notice the engine roaring back to life, he turned towards me and asked "so , where to love?".
"Anywhere" I said tired.
He smiled.I smiled.We drove.
The only noise I could hear was the low roar of the engine, I could also feel Harry looking over his shoulder at me.I couldn't help but say something "Thank you."
He looked quizzed "Why?" , "For pulling me out of there , to be honest I didn't even want to go tonight but it was Lila who pulled me out of bed" and then I remembered "Lila! Oh God!!" and Harry asked with concern "What is it ?" , "Harry I forgot about Lila! She is drunk ! How is she going to get home? I need to call her ! hold on" I pulled out my phone and dialed her number quickly.
"Hello?! Lila!!"
"Auuudd ! Where are you?"
"Lila , I went out for a drive , Harry is with me"
"Oh"
"So when are you going home?"
"Aud I think I am staying the night here"
"Really ? Is it a good idea?"I was concerned.
"Yeah I think I am . I am really drunk to talk right now and I think I am going to go lay down"
"ok take care hon, call you in the morning"
I cut the phone and slid my phone back into my pocket. Harry asked "Is she going to be alright?". He cared, this was him being him. "She said she is staying the night so I guess she is going to be safe". "Good" he chuckled softly "well you must be hungry , let's get some pizza ?" I looked at him "Sure".

We parked the car in front of papa Gino's pizzeria and walk into the small pizza shop. We got a large cheese pizza and settled into a tiny booth, the place was empty because it was almost midnight - "I guess we are the only 2 up for pizza this late at night" I commented searching for a soul in the empty shop. He nodded "True!" and continued "What about we get some beer and leave- lets go down to the beach and have it.This place just freaks me out". He was right , the place looked haunted,"Yeah let's do it"

We grabbed the pizza box and he got us some bottles from the counter and we left . We started driving by the beach. "The pizza smells really good !" He marked ."Yeah it does , lets stop here and eat - I am starving!". We stopped close to the sand and he left the head lights on for some visibility.
He opened up the bottles and I opened the pizza box , we grabbed a slice and he said "Cheers to an interesting night!"
"Couldn't agree more !" I said. We ate as we smiled.
After 2 bottles of beer and 3 slices of pizza I finally found the guts to speak my mind.
"Harry thank you for this , for the pizza and the night!"Words barely coming out of my mouth
"Audrey it's fine, I just wanted to see you smile again , what happened in there was not right." He pointed out gently.
"I know , I just remembered the really bad times and I couldn't help but cry"
"It's ok to take a moment , we all need it" Harry was right. He was easy to talk to .
"I know , it's because of my dad - it's all him ! he dragged me through it and now he is dragging my mum through it!" I was angry
Harry moved a bit closer.
"You don't have to go through it alone." He was calm but I could feel him getting serious.
I didn't want to explain anymore , I was tired and I didn't want to get worked up.
"Harry?" I asked.
"Hmmm" He bit his lower lip
"Why do the stars shine so bright?" I was tired and buzzing from the alcohol.
"Well that's the beauty - they shine because of the darkness " Harry smirked.
He was right.
I pulled my body closer to his and he slowly guided my head with his palm towards his chest , he was warm and I was cold. I needed him. I hugged him. He didn't let go.

We sat there by the car's light and an empty pizza box , watching the stars burn bright and feeling hope.I looked up to see him tired but he started stroking my hair gently and I felt safe and that is enough. He started to hum an unfamiliar song as I drifted to sleep.
