Don't Forget About Us

(Harry)

"I promised I'd come back for you, love." I said sitting down on the bed next to her. I had gotten her a single black rose.

Normally, I would have went with a traditional red rose but she hated red ones. 'Darker things have more inner beauty.' I remember her saying once.

She also preferred dark colors as long as I've known her. Even now, I suppose as I watched her pick at her, already chipped, black nail polish.

She was as beautiful as ever. She had barely changed at all, the only noticeable difference that I saw was her once waist-length midnight hair was now cut a few inches beneath her shoulder blades.

Her gray eyes sparkled and paled into a deep silvery color as the sun shone into them. And as I watched her stand up I noticed she was still the same adorable height of 5'2. She sighed and rubbed her temples.

"Harry, I meant why are you here... now?" She looked up at me with teary eyes. "I made a promise to you, Davina. I intend to keep that promise." I walked over to her and gently placed the rose behind her ear. Although it was beautiful, it didn't compare at all to her.

From the moment he touched me, my body was on fire. I was struggling between forcing myself to remember my fiancee and completely and utterly surrendering my heart to Harry again. I couldn't do that to Victor.

At least that's what I told myself as I felt Harry stroke my cheek and bend down slightly to kiss me. I gave in, I felt my eyes flutter close and felt my fingers entwine into his soft, curly hair. We broke apart for air and he smiled at me.

The rational part of my brain woke up and I pulled far away from him. "Davina?" He looked hurt. "Harry, we can't do this. I can't do this." I whispered softly feeling tears prick my eyes again. I watched as his eyes glistened and one tear escaped.

I wanted so badly to wipe it away. To stay with him for the rest of my life, but I couldn't, not anymore. "Why not?" He whispered, walking over to me.

I watched as more tears escaped his eyes. I couldn't help myself, I reached up and wiped the tears away, leaving my hand to linger on his cheek.

He sighed and leaned into my hand. "You left me Harry, I had to move on." I didn't know if I was trying to convince him or myself that I had actually moved on. There would never be another for me besides Harry.

"You can come back with me." He stopped and looked into my eyes. "I'll never leave you again." I shook my head. "I'm getting married Harry. Why can't you just be happy for me?" I felt tears travel down my face.

"Because I still love you." He whispered. "No." I said quietly. "You can't love me. Not now." I exhaled shakily as he leaned down again. I felt his warm breath on my face.

"Tell me you don't still love me and I'll leave." He spoke softly against my lips. I sharply inhaled. "I-I-I don't-" I was cut off by my phone ringing. I quickly reached down into my pocket and pulled it out.

I fumbled with the answer key and quickly put it to my ear. "Hello?" I gulped, Harry's intense silent gaze began to unnerve me. "Hey Vina." I heard Vic say on the other end. "Hi Vic, w-what's wrong?" I softly stuttered, hoping he wouldn't notice.

He didn't. "I'm just coming home a bit late tonight, Okay?" He said. "Okay. Love you." I said sighing. He hung up. That was weird.

The call got me back to my senses though. "Harry, you should go." I reasoned. He leaned back slightly and twirled a piece of my hair around his finger. "Tell me." He murmured. "I don't know Harry. Please just go." I sighed.

He nodded and stroked my face one last time before walking to my bedroom door. "I'm not giving up on us Davina." He said before walking away, leaving me to wonder what the hell I was going to do now.
