The Outsiders
Chapter 2
_ Chrissy's Point Of View _
I finished my trail of kerosene as soon as the others were getting into the car. They motioned for me to get in the car while I threw the empty container in a nearby alley. I ran as fast as I could in heels and swiftly menuvered into the car. I pulled out a box of matches and lit a single one. I quickly tossed it onto the trail and sped off. Once we were a good hour away I turned up the radio. "Here's To Never Growing Up" by Avril Lavigne came on and I looked at Sarah who was currently riding shotgun. Her lips curved into a smile as we started belting out the lyrics.
"Singing Radio Head at the top of our lungs, with the boom box blaring as we're falling in love! Got a bottle of whatever but it's getting us drunk singing here's to never growing up!" We sang quite loudly, probably annoying whoever was riding in the back seat.
Sarah was the only one that listened to my music. That's why she's like my un-biological sister. I wish we had one more girl though. Us girls are outnumbered by one and I really want to even things out. Who knows, maybe we'll find someone along the way and take them in to be a part of our 'gang'. I don't like using that word to describe our group but I don't know what to call us and that's what the people call us so why not. The song sadly ended as a random song by The Fray came on. Sarah gave me one of her looks.
"Are you ok?" She asked, "You look like you're thinking about a lot, and that's not normal"
I chuckled slightly at her oddly true comment. "Yeah, I'm fine" I sighed "So where to next?"
"Nashville?" She asked typing away on her phone
"Nashville" I confirmed
She continued typing as I thought about her odd choice of cities. Out of all cities in the US , why Nashville? She probably has some long back story behind her choice and quite frankly I don't want to hear it.! I mean she my best friend and all, but damn can she be annoying at times. I figured up the driving time to be about, eh, close to two days. We've only been o the road for about two hours. This is going to be a long two days. Suddenly, Waiting For Superman by Daughtry comes on and Sarah's eyes light up.
"Ermagerd! Crank up my jams!" She loudly dictates . I do as she says and turn up the radio.
"Shes talking to angels! She's counting the stars, making a wish on a passing car! She's dancing with strangers! She's falling apart, waiting for Superman to pick her up, in his arms! In his arms! Waiting for Superman!" We both sang when the chorus came.
The ride after that was pretty basic. Wait for a good song, sing really loudly until it ends, wait for another good song, sing loudly until it ends, wait for another good song, welp, you get the point
